strong interaction Between Redox Mediators and Defect-Rich Carbons Enabling Simultaneously Boosted Voltage Windows and Capacitance for Aqueous Supercapacitors

Energy density,the Achilles’heel of aqueous supercapacitors,is simultaneously determined by the voltage window and specific capacitance of the carbon materials,but the strategy of synchronously boosting them has rarely been ***,we demonstrate that the rational utilization of the interaction between redox mediators(RMs)and carbon electrode materials,especially those with rich intrinsic defects,contributes to extended potential windows and more stored charges *** 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyloxyl(4OH-TEMPO)and intrinsic defect-rich carbons as the RMs and electrode materials,respectively,the potential window and capacitance are increased by 67%and sixfold in a neutral ***,this strategy could also be applied to alkaline and acid *** first-principle calculation and experimental results demonstrate that the strong interaction between 4OH-TEMPO and defectrich carbons plays a key role as preferential adsorbed RMs may largely prohibit the contact of free water molecules with the electrode materials to terminate the water splitting at elevated *** the RMs offering weaker interaction with the electrode materials,the water splitting still proceeds with a thus sole increase of the stored *** results discovered in this work could provide an alternative solution to address the low energy density of aqueous supercapacitors.

Boosting oxygen reduction activity of spinel CoFe2O4 by strong interaction with hierarchical nitrogen-doped carbon nanocages

The unique hierarchical nitrogen-doped carbon nanocages(h NCNC) are used as a new support to homogeneously immobilize spinel Co Fe_2O_4 nanoparticles by a facile solvothermal method. The so-constructed hierarchical Co Fe_2O_4/h NCNC catalyst exhibits a high oxygen reduction activity with an onset potential of0.966 V and half-wave potential of 0.819 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, far superior to the corresponding 0.846 and 0.742 V for its counterpart of Co Fe_2O_4/h CNC with undoped hierarchical carbon nanocages(h CNC) as the support, which locates at the top level for spinel-based catalysts to ***, the Co Fe_2O_4/h NCNC displays the superior performance to the Co Fe_2O_4/h CNC, when used as the cathode catalysts in the home-made Al-air batteries. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterizations reveal the more charge transfer from Co Fe_2O_4 to h NCNC than to h CNC, indicating the stronger interaction between Co Fe_2O_4 and h NCNC due to the nitrogen participation. The enhanced interaction and hierarchical morphology favor the high dispersion and modification of electronic states for the active species as well as the mass transport during the oxygen reduction process, which plays a significant role in boosting the electrocatalytic performances. In addition, we noticed the high sensitivity of O 1 s spectrum to the particle size and chemical environment for spinel oxides, which is used as an indicator to understand the evolution of ORR activities for all the Co Fe_2O_4-related contrast catalysts. Accordingly,the well-defined structure-performance relationship is demonstrated by the combination of experimental characterizations with theoretical calculations. This study provides a promising strategy to develop efficient, inexpensive and durable oxygen reduction electrocatalysts by tuning the interaction between spinel metal oxides and the carbon-based supports.

Unification of Gravitational and strong interaction Fields Using Partial Gauge Symmetry

We propose the new field potential by maintaining both the symmetry of the scalar gauge and the conservation law keeping N?ether’s theorem, while disregarding the symmetry of the vector gauge. The new potential forms like the well-type potential where a particle behaves almost freely but is very hard to escape without external energy, which can be interpreted as local confinement and asymptotic freedom. By assuming a 2-dimensional metric tensor in 4-dimensional space-time, we suggest the existence of 3 kinds of particles that resemble QCD with 3 color charges. We also show that the mass term exists but comes to zero and derive the charge and spin values. We can regard the particle with this new potential as a gluon, and the interaction in this well-type potential as a strong interaction for the properties of mass, charge, spin, and its behavior. We suggest the eight-fold way with this new particle, which is similar to the existing method based on SU (3) symmetry. Even though the strong interaction has been analyzed in the standard model and string theory, we build a new consistent model based on the theory of relativity including Riemann geometry, and show the unification of gravitational and strong interactional field.

Highly efficient K-doped Mn-Ce catalysts with strong K-Mn-Ce interaction for toluene oxidation

In this study,K_(x)-Mn-Ce catalysts prepared by sol-gel method were investigated for toluene *** with Mn-Ce,the catalytic performance of K_(x)-Mn-Ce was further improved.X-ray diffraction(XRD),high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)and Raman analyses demonstrate that K ions enter the lattice of CeO_(2) and disperse *** results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR).and O_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(O_(2)-TPD)analyses indicate that there is a strong interaction between K,Mn and Ce;the charge co mpensation effect would be induced when K ions enter the lattice of CeO_(2),which leads to more oxygen vacancies due to the generation of more Ce^(3+).Toluene-TPD shows that K-doping enhances the activation ability of *** all catalysts,K0.1-Mn-Ce shows the highest concentration of Mn^(4+),Ce^(3+),Osur,and redox ability,resulting in higher low-temperature catalytic ***,the results of stability and water resistance also prove that K0.1-Mn-Ce catalyst possesses excellent stability and water resistance.

Selective hydrogenation of acetylene over Pd/CeO2

Five hundred ppm Pd/CeO2 catalyst was prepared and evaluated in selective hydrogenation of acetylene in large excess of ethylene since ceria has been recently found to be a reasonable stand-alone catalyst for this ***/CeO2 catalyst could be activated in situ by the feed gas during reactions and the catalyst without reduction showed much better ethylene selectivity than the reduced one in the high temperature range due to the formation of oxygen vacancies by *** ethylene selectivity of〜100%was obtained in the whole reaction temperature range of 50℃-200℃ for samples calcined at temperatures of 600℃ and 800℃.This could be ascribed to the formation of PdX-Ce1-xO2-y or Pd-O-Ce surface species based on the X-ray diffiaction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results,indicating the strong interaction between palladium and ceria.

In this paper, by using the Lagrangian coordinates, the strongly oblique interactions between solitary waves with the same mode in a stratified fluid ape discussed, which includes the shallow fluid case and deep fluid case. It is found that the interactions are described by the KP equation for the shallow fluid case, the two-dimensional intermediate long wave equation (2D-ILW equation) for the deep fluid case and the two-dimensional BO equation (2D-BO equation) for the infinite deep fluid case.

Hydrogen,as a green and clean next-generation fuel,is a key to achieving the goal of carbon *** an electrocatalyst with bifunctional hydrogen evolution and oxygen evolution activity in the same electrolyte is a key technology for producing hydrogen via water ***,a bimetallic active site catalyst,which possessed an edge-riched MoS_(2)nanoflakes array vertically growing on cubic CoS_(2),forming a nuclear-shell heterogeneous configuration,termed CSC-Mo S_(2)@Co S_(2).was reported The optimal CSC-Mo S_(2)@Co S_(2)-24 possessed good dualfunctional electrocatalytic activity(hydrogen evolution(HER),10 m A·cm^(-2)@241.5 m V and oxygen evolution(OER),10 m A·cm^(-2)@350 m V).Especially,CSC-Mo S_(2)@CoS_(2)-24 exhibited an extremely high mass activity for HER,and only required an overpotential of~550 m V when reaching a large current density of 1422 m A·mg^(-1),which was20.6-fold that of the bulk CoS_(2)(69 m A·mg^(-1)),as well as exhibiting stability of up to 100 *** good electrocatalytic performance was attributed to the nuclear-shell heterostructure of Mo S_(2)@CoS_(2)hybrid could bring critical synergies,improving efficient mass transfer and electron transfer processes between Co S_(2)and Mo S_(2),which collaboratively promoted the electrocatalytic *** is foreseeable that the method proposed in this work will have guiding value for the preparation of dual-functional electrocatalysts with multi-interface heterostructures by assembling layered sulfides on cubic sulfides.

New puzzle in charmonium decays

By analyzing existing data on pseudoscalar charmonium decays,we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions of η_(c)(2S) and η_(c) decays into ten different final states with light *** the first time,we test the two existing theoretical predictions of these decays and find that the experimental data are significantly different from both of *** lack of observation of any decay mode with higher rate in η_(c)(2S)than in η_(c) decays suggests very unusual decay dynamics in pseudoscalar charmonium decays to be *** also report the first model-independent evaluation of the partial width of η_(c)(2S)→yy(2.21^(+0.88)_(-0.64)keV)and improve determination of that of η_(c)→yy(5.43^(+0.41)_(-0.38)KeV).The latter shows a tension with the most recent lattice QCD calculation.

QCD phase diagram at finite isospin and baryon chemical potentials with the self-consistent mean field approximation

The self-consistent mean field approximation of the two-flavor NJL model,with a free parameter a to reflect the competition between the"direct"channel and the"exchange"channel,is employed to study the QCD phase structure at finite isospin chemical potentialμr,finite baryon chemical potentialμB and finite temperature T,and especially to study the location of the QCD critical *** results show that in order to match the corres-ponding lttice results of isospin density and energy density,the contributions of the"exchange"channel need to be considered in the framework of the NJL model,and a weighting factorα=0.5 should be *** is also found that for fixed isospin chemical potentials,the lower temperature of the phase transition is obtained with increasing a in the T-μplane,and the largest difference of the phase transition temperature with differentα's appears atμ1~***μ=0 the temperature of the QCD critical end point(CEP)decreases with increasing r,while the critical baryon chemical potential *** high isospin chemical potential(μr=500 MeV),the temperature of the QCD tricritical point(TCP)increases with increasing a,and in the low temperature regions the system *** from the pion superfluidity phase to the normal phase asμB *** low density,the critical temperature of the QCD phase transition with differentα's rapidly increases withμ1 at the beginning,and then increases smoothly aroundμ1>300 *** the high baryon density region,the increase of the isospin chemical potential will raise the critical baryon chemical potential of the phase transition.

Using the vector exchange interaction in the local hidden gauge approach,which in the light quark sector generates the chiral Lagrangians and has produced realistic results for Ωc,Ξc,Ξb and the hidden charm pentaquark states,we study the meson-baryon interactions in the coupled channels that lead to the Ξbb and Ωbbb excited states of the molecular *** obtain seven states of the Ξbb type with energies between 10408 and 10869 MeV,and one Ωbbb state at 15212 MeV.
