A theoretical model about the secondary deformation is developed by the combination of analytical and experimental approaches. A system simulation based on the model is completed to predict the strip profile after the interstand deformation. On the other hand, comprehensive experiments and quantitative comparisons are made to calibrate the model for a wide variety of products. As a result, the correction of the model has been verified by the actual rolling data from production mill and it is helpful to improve the strip shape control.

In order to improve the quality of the strip for the hot continuous rolling, the high accuracy set-up control must be applied to production. In the paper, we analyze the RFC (profile and flatness control) system and simulate the set-up process. Calculation results are in agreement to the actual measurements. It is the basis on the developing model.

Optimization of pass schedule to improve the strip shape in hot strip rolling

Considering the problems caused by entrance strip shape of instability during the rolling process and quality of exit strip shape,this paper proposed a strip shape feed-forward control method based on the change of mill entrance strip shape and constructed a feed-forward deviation calculation model and a strip shape feed-forward control model for tandem cold rolling mills,the correctness of which was verified by comparing with actual values.This method is applicable to the rolling mill equipped with strip shapemeter at the entrance and puts the stability of the rolling process and obtaining good exit strip shape as the control target.On the base of studies on the strip shape feed-forward control strategy and execution cycle of strip shape feed-forward control,a complete automatic flatness control system was established for a 20-roller stainless steel cold rolling mill.Production results showed that when the strip shape feed-forward control method was used,the stability and production capacity of cold rolling mill unit improved obviously,leading to further improvement in strip shape control accuracy and quality.

In this study,the authors proposed a new algorism which can simultaneously meets the strip shape control criterion and the strip crown control criterion.Based on the new algorism,the pass schedule is optimized to maximize the allowable PC angle range.To calculate the objective value for optimization of pass schedule,a slab method has been integrated with the roll stack deformation to simulate the strip profile.

Based on the hydraulic bending control system,the electrohydraulic servo pressure control simulation model is built.Taking into account of the inadequacy of P-type immune feedback controller,an improved fuzzy immune PID controller is put forward.Drawing on immune feedback principle of biological immune system,the P-type immune feedback controller is connected with conventional PID controller in series and then in parallel with design fuzzy immune PID controller.The controller parameters can be adjusted on line by the rules of immune feedback controller and fuzzy controller.In order to gain the optimal parameters of the controller,the parameters of the controller are off-line optimized by the best multiple optimal model PSO algorithm.The simulation results indicate that the method has characteristics of small overshoot,short adjusting time and strong anti-interference ability and robustness.The quality of the strip shape can be further improved.
