Explosion damage effects of aviation kerosene storage tank under strong ignition

In order to study the blast damage effects of aviation kerosene storage tanks,the out-field explosion experiments of 8 m3fixed-roof tanks were carried *** fragments,shock wave and fireball thermal radiation of the tank in the presence of bottom oil,half oil and full oil,as well as empty tank,were investigated under internal explosion by various TNT charge contents(1.8 kg,3.5 kg and 6.2 kg).The results showed that the tank roof was the only fragment produced,and the damage forms could be divided into three *** increase of TNT charge content and oil volume enlarged the deformation of the tank,while the hole ratio presented a trend of increase first and then *** H_r,maxand V_(max)values positively increased as increasing the TNT charge content and oil volume(from empty to half oil),but decreased in full *** Pmaxvalues had a progressive increase with the increment of TNT charge content,but not the case with the increase in oil *** development of fireball was divided into three stages:tank roof‘towed'flame,jet flow flame tumbling and rising,and jet flow flame *** Dmaxand Hf,maxvalues both increased as increasing TNT charge content and oil *** oscillation phenomenon of fireball temperature was observed in the cooling *** average temperature of fireball surface was positively correlated with TNT charge content,and negatively correlated with oil volumes.

A design method of an initial rainwater storage tank of combined sewer overflows of Nanfei Creek in Eastern China was *** drainage district of the storage tank was almost a rectangle and the capacity of the tank can be calculated by an equation derived from the accumulation *** velocity and concentration time of the drainage ditch depended on the rain intensity,while calculating the storage tank capacity by the adopted *** capacity of the initial rainwater storage tank of QING I and QING II ditch,calculated by the equation,was 10,101m3,which was approximate to the result calculated by Germany sewerage society *** operation of the storage tank could be controlled by a programmable logic controller,and devided into seven models:rest model,influent model 1,influent model 2,effluent model,effluent model 1,effluent model 2 and rinse model.

Investigation of factors affecting on viscosity reduction of sludge from Iranian crude oil storage tanks

Crude oil is a kind of water/oil emulsion, which the oil phase consists of organic molecules with different molecular weights such as alkanes, paraffin, asphaltene, and resins. Due to the change in physicochemical conditions during the production, transportation, storage, and refining, heavier molecules can precipitate from crude oil. Thus, viscous sludge formed at the bottom of storage tanks can cause many problems including reduction of storage capacity of tank, oil contamination, corrosion, repair costs, environmental pollution, etc. The reduction of sludge viscosity can be achieved by reduction of its interfacial tension. In this study, different chemical and physical factors, influencing prepared emulsions（made of sludge, water and surfactant）, such as surfactants, solvents, temperature, pressure, and mixing conditions were investigated. Results showed that non-ionic surfactants（like bitumen emulsifier）, and solvents（such as mixed xylene, AW-400, and AW-402）, injection of additives, applying pressure, and mixing operations had a positive effect on reduction of emulsion viscosity. All experiments were carried out with sludge obtained from crude oil storage tanks at Kharg Island,Iran.

Rheological behavior of oil sludge from Algerian refinery storage tanks

The consumption and demand for petroleum are increasing dramatically with the rapid development of industry and energy *** a result,petroleum refineries produce the greatest amount of oily sludge formed at the bottom of storage tanks during oil storage operations,which has a severely negative impact on the storage capacity and the operational safety of the storage *** present study focuses on the rheology of this complex fluid from Algerian crude oil storage *** measurements were performed at different temperatures under steady shear and dynamic oscillometry using AR-2000 *** results obtained show that the sludge exhibits yield-pseudoplastic flow behavior at low shear rates,which is adequately described by the Herschel Bulkley model based on the standard error and correlation coefficient ***,quasi-Newtonian flow behavior occurs at very high shear *** increase in temperature had positive effects on the rheological properties of the sludge,including dynamic viscosity,shear stress,yield stress,complex modulus,elastic modulus and viscous *** dynamic rheology studies have shown that the sludge material behaves more like a solid than a liquid under all experimental conditions studied.

Renewable energies(especially solar energy)are globally suitable alternatives for fossil *** the other hand,greenhouses,as a main part of agriculture industry,use a significant amount of fossil fuels annually to provide the required heat for the under-cultivation crops in the *** this heat demand is provided by a heater which burns gas oil as its main *** main problem with these heaters is fuel *** is why feasibility of utilizing a solar energy storage system in greenhouses is studied *** the low temperature heat is required for preheating the air in the greenhouse,a solar collector array is proposed to be utilized in order to displace heating demand of the heater and to reduce amount of fuel *** evaluate the proposed system effectiveness,an economic survey has been done on the proposed system based on Net Present Value(NPV)*** optimum capital cost for the project is found based on economic *** economic analysis showed that 85 flat plate collector modules and an 8.5 cubic meters of storage tank are optimum selection of the *** results showed that,by employing the proposed system,7735 USD benefit as well as 11050 litres of fuel providence is obtainable *** evaluation based on NPV method resulted in the payback period of ten years.

In recent years, the safety accidents of large storage tanks in our country occur frequently, and the safety status of storage tank is worrying. The structural integrity of the main four components, tank foundation, floor, wall and floating plate, are received more attention in engineering. Under the support of the national key research and development program, according to the present situation of the integrity detection technology of large storage tanks, the research on the nondestructive inspection technology of storage tank is carried out in this paper. The key technical development and existing problem of corresponding inspection methods are discussed firstly, and then structural detection technology framework of the large storage tank are established. Finally, the outlook of the detection data fusion are put forward to provide technical support for the construction of the structural integrity management.

This paper discusses the strength design methods in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel（B＆PV）Code with a focus on the design by analysis for engineering design and integrity assessment of pressure vessels and the innovative technology and development made recently towards plastic flow criteria for improving the pressure vessel design and assessment *** pressure vessels are of high pressure and include nuclear plant pressure vessels,petrochemical pressure vessels,storage tanks and oil/gas line *** work presents（1）a simple review of the traditional strength criteria used in ASME B＆PV Code and in industry,（2）shortcomings of the existing strength criteria when used in prediction of burst pressure of cylindrical vessels,（3）advantages of plastic flow theories used for pressure vessel analysis,（4）challenges,technical gaps and needs to improve the traditional strength criteria,（5）existing flow criteria and their shortcomings in prediction of burst pressure of cylindrical vessels,（6）a new multi-axial flow theory and its burst pressure model for cylindrical vessels,（7）experimental validation of the new flow criterion by use of full-scale experimental data for carbon steels,（8）applications of the new flow criterion,and（9）recommendations for further investigation of structural design and assessment methods.

储罐是石化企业挥发性有机物(VOCs)无组织排放源的重要组成部分,针对石化企业储罐无组织排放VOCs带来严重的环境问题和油品损耗问题,本文以浮顶罐的挂壁损耗为研究对象。首先,采用有机液体罐壁沾湿实验装置模拟储罐发油过程,以正己烷、正辛烷、汽油、柴油和原油为存储对象,考察了罐壁锈蚀程度、边缘密封类型、液体种类和罐壁材质对挂壁损失的影响及其影响程度;其次,采用电化学方法对罐壁涂层的抗腐蚀性能进行研究;然后,采用CFD软件对浮顶罐发油过程中油气扩散规律进行数值模拟;最后,以某石化企业浮顶罐作为案例进行挂壁损失核算分析,并提出有效的减耗措施。主要研究结论:(1)理论核算公式分析发现,影响外浮顶罐挂壁损失的首要关键参数为罐壁黏附系数,其次为年周转量和液体的密度;影响内浮顶罐挂壁损失的首要关键参数为罐壁黏附系数,其次为年周转量和固定顶支撑柱数量。(2)根据罐壁沾湿实验装置模拟储罐发油过程,得知浮顶罐挂壁损失与储存液体的粘度、密度和罐壁锈蚀程度均呈正相关;刮油效果随着边缘密封性的增加而增强;罐壁锈蚀加重,降低了边缘密封材料对罐壁的压紧程度。采用层次分析法和多因素方差分析法对挂壁损失影响因素进行敏感性分析,可以看出锈蚀程度对于挂壁损失量的影响程度最大,其次为液体粘度、周转量、密封类型和储罐直径,而罐壁材质对于挂壁损失的影响程度最小。因此,建议AP-42浮顶罐挂壁损耗评估公式中考虑边缘密封对蒸发损耗的影响。(3)罐壁涂层抗腐蚀性能研究发现,在浸泡初期,环氧树脂涂层与环氧富锌涂层的阻抗值较大,溶液还未渗透到涂层与碳钢基体界面,碳钢试片的腐蚀速率极小,涂层的容抗弧随浸泡时间的延长呈现减小的趋势,涂层的抗腐蚀性能逐渐减弱;在浸泡中期,随着溶液介质不断渗入涂层与碳钢界面,在界面处生成的腐蚀产物越来越多,这些腐蚀产物的增多一定程度上增大了涂层的阻抗值,使得涂层的耐腐蚀性能增加,减缓了碳钢试片的腐蚀速率;在浸泡后期,涂层的阻抗降到最低,并伴随着出现起泡、剥离的现象,涂层基本失效,碳钢试片腐蚀严重。另外,环氧富锌涂层的耐腐蚀性优于环氧树脂涂层。(4)浮顶罐发油过程中油气扩散数值模拟研究发现,增加发油速度,能提高罐内油气在气相空间内均匀分布的速率,从而减小油气蒸发损耗;罐内气相空间初始油气质量分数的增加使得罐内油气质量分数梯度减小,进而降低汽油的蒸发速率。因此,建议AP-42的浮顶罐发油过程中大
