Comprehension algorithms like High Efficiency Video Coding(HEVC)facilitates fast and efficient handling of multimedia contents.Such algorithms involve various computation modules that help to reduce the size of content but preserve the same subjective viewing quality.However,the brute-force behavior of HEVC is the biggest hurdle in the communication of multimedia content.Therefore,a novel method will be presented here to accelerate the encoding process of HEVC by making early intra mode decisions for the block.Normally,the HEVC applies 35 intra modes to every block of the frame and selects the best among them based on the RD-cost(rate-distortion).Firstly,the proposed work utilizes neighboring blocks to extract available information for the current block.Then this information is converted to the probability that tells which intra mode might be best in the current situation.The proposed model has a strong foundation as it is based on the probability rule-2 which says that the sum of probabilities of all outcomes should be 1.Moreover,it is also based on optimal stopping theory(OST).Therefore,the proposed model performs better than many existing OST and classical secretary-basedmodels.The proposed algorithms expedited the encoding process by 30.22%of the HEVC with 1.35%Bjontegaard Delta Bit Rate(BD-BR).

Pulsar detection has become an active research topic in radio astronomy recently.One of the essential procedures for pulsar detection is pulsar candidate sifting(PCS),a procedure for identifying potential pulsar signals in a survey.However,pulsar candidates are always class-imbalanced,as most candidates are non-pulsars such as RFI and only a tiny part of them are from real pulsars.Class imbalance can greatly affect the performance of machine learning(ML)models,resulting in a heavy cost as some real pulsars are misjudged.To deal with the problem,techniques of choosing relevant features to discriminate pulsars from non-pulsars are focused on,which is known as feature selection.Feature selection is a process of selecting a subset of the most relevant features from a feature pool.The distinguishing features between pulsars and non-pulsars can significantly improve the performance of the classifier even if the data are highly imbalanced.In this work,an algorithm for feature selection called the K-fold Relief-Greedy(KFRG)algorithm is designed.KFRG is a two-stage algorithm.In the first stage,it filters out some irrelevant features according to their K-fold Relief scores,while in the second stage,it removes the redundant features and selects the most relevant features by a forward greedy search strategy.Experiments on the data set of the High Time Resolution Universe survey verified that ML models based on KFRG are capable of PCS,correctly separating pulsars from non-pulsars even if the candidates are highly class-imbalanced.

[Objectives]To evaluate the quality of Cardamine macrophylla Willd as Tibetan and Qiang medicinal materials,so as to improve its quality standard and evaluate the quality of C.macrophylla Willd in western Sichuan Province.[Methods]C.macrophylla Willd produced from western Sichuan Province was used as the sample,and the contents of moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash,extract,total flavonoids and quercetin in the ground part of C.macrophylla Willd were determined in accordance with the methods of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition).With the above seven indicators as evaluation indicators,the quality of medicinal materials was comprehensively evaluated by cluster analysis and principal component analysis(PCA).[Results]According to the results of each indicator,the moisture content of C.macrophylla Willd sample should not exceed 11.00%,the total ash content should not exceed 18%,the acid-insoluble ash content should not exceed 6%,the extract content should not be less than 19%,the total flavone content(calculated by quercetin)should not be less than 2%,and the quercetin content should not be less than 0.15%.[Conclusions]The sample S7 has the best quality and S6 has the worst quality.In this study,the quantitative analysis method of total flavonoids(quercetin)and quercetin in C.macrophylla Willd was established,and the limits of each indicator were preliminarily formulated.

statistical Characteristics of Suction Pressure Signals for a Centrifugal Pumpunder Cavitating Conditions

Centrifugal pumps are often used in operating conditions where they can be susceptible to premature failure. The cavitation phenomenon is a common fault in centrifugal pumps and is associated with undesired effects. Among the numerous cavitation detection methods, the measurement of suction pressure fluctuation is one of the most used methods to detect or diagnose the degree of cavitation in a centrifugal pump. In this paper, a closed loop was established to investigate the pump cavitation phenomenon, the statistical parameters for PDF(Probability Density Function), Variance and RMS(Root Mean Square) were used to analyze the relationship between the cavitation performance and the suction pressure signals during the development of cavitation. It is found that the statistical parameters used in this research are able to capture critical cavitation condition and cavitation breakdown condition, whereas difficult for the detection of incipient cavitation in the pump. At part-load conditions, the pressure fluctuations at the impeller inlet show more complexity than the best efficiency point(BEP). Amplitude of PDF values of suction pressure increased steeply when the flow rate dropped to 40 m^3/h(the design flow rate was 60 m^3/h). One possible reason is that the flow structure in the impeller channel promotes an increase of the cavitation intensity when the flow rate is reduced to a certain degree. This shows that it is necessary to find the relationship between the cavitation instabilities and flow instabilities when centrifugal pumps operate under part-load flow rates.

When operating frequency is over several gigahertz, the effect of inductance plays an important role and should be included for accurate and speed crosstalk noise analysis. And for new generation IC(Integrated circuit) design tools, the crosstalk noise analysis tools should consider the influence of process variations. In this paper, we propose coupled RLC crosstalk noise distributed parameter model with capacitive load termination. And we develop the framework that how to use the crosstalk noise model for process variations. Our results show that compare with HSPICE, the critical data errors of proposed model are within 1% and the relative errors occurred between calculated values for process variations and HSPICE Monte Carlo simulation values are less than 5%. The key features of the new model include:(1) The impact of inductance on crosstalk noise is considered;(2) The model can be used for process variations analysis;(3) The model reflect the effects of load capacitance directly;(4) The numerical inversion of Laplace transform is introduced for improving speed. So the proposed model meets the needs of future IC design both in speed and accuracy.

Based on the empirical electron theory of solids and molecules (EET), the statisti- cal values of valence electron structure parameters SnA and SEA which can char- acterize the properties of alloy phases are calculated, and influences of alloying elements (e.g., V, Nb, Mo, Hf, Zr, Fe, Mn, Co, Cr, Si, and so on) on the phase transi- tion temperature and eutectoid reaction of titanium alloy are discussed with the statistical values of valence electron structure parameters. The research results agree well with real situations.

Mesial-distal and buccal-lingual dimensions of 1 266 hominoid teeth found in Yuanmou of Yunnan Province during the period of 1986 and 1988 have been measured. The statistical analyses of the metric data show that the tooth sizes of Yuanmou hominoid can be divided into big and small two types, and most tooth dimensions display obvious bimodalities in both histograms and 2 dimensional plots. The coefficients of variance (CV) reveal that the CVs of Yuanmou hominoid tooth sizes are within or close to the CV ranges of Lufengpithecus and extant great apes. The comparisons of tooth sizes and their proportions indicate that Yuanmou hominoids have close affinities with Lefeng and Kaiyuan hominoids, and have obvious differences with Gorilla, Chimpanzee and Orangutan. The authors believe that the hominoid fossils found in Yuanmou in the past 10 years represent a single species with highly sexual dimorphism in morphology and this species may have a close evolutionary relationship with the hominoids found in

This paper is devoted to the homogenization and statistical multiscale analysis of a transient heat conduction problem in random porous materials with a nonlinear radiation boundary condition.A novel statistical multiscale analysis method based on the two-scale asymptotic expansion is proposed.In the statistical multiscale formulations,a unified linear homogenization procedure is established and the second-order correctors are introduced for modeling the nonlinear radiative heat transfer in random perforations,which are our main contributions.Besides,a numerical algorithm based on the statistical multiscale method is given in details.Numerical results prove the accuracy and efficiency of our method for multiscale simulation of transient nonlinear conduction and radiation heat transfer problem in random porous materials.
