This study aims to identify the systematic factors influencing venture capital performance in emerging *** technologies are the driving force of contemporary economic and social development,but their technologies and markets are subject to great *** a high-risk,high-yield investment method,venture capital plays an extremely important role in supporting technological innovation and promoting the upgrading of industrial *** information processing theory,this study applies a quantitative analysis to data from 61 venture capitalists in Beijing,China using structural equation modeling(SEM).The sample firms were established since 2015 and invested mainly in emerging technology *** model passed the goodness-of-fit indices test and reveals that information acquisition,venture capital executives,and venture capital strategies have a positive impact on venture capital performance,and venture capital strategies played a partial mediating role.

Notwithstanding the emergence of FinTech startups in the financial services industry,most of these companies face significant difficulties in breaking even and *** study examines the main managerial, institutional, and financial drivers of FinTechprofitability and the time it takes for these firms to break even. The database includesrelevant qualitative factors, such as foundational characteristics, the technologicalprofile of the startup, and its funding structure. Using the full population of FinTechstartups operating in Spain from 2005 to 2017, we observe that most of these firms areunprofitable within three years of their inception. Combining panel data and survivalanalyses, we empirically find that large and solvent FinTech firms founded by singleentrepreneurs in an incubator or accelerator program are more likely to be profitableand prevail. FinTech firms reach their break-even points faster if they receive fundingthrough seed capital.

This study investigates signal validity in equity-based crowdfunding by examining whether signals that increase crowd participation are associated with higher postoffering ***-offering success is measured as the probability of *** use a hand-collected data set of 88 campaigns with over 64,000 investments and 742 updates from a well-established and leading German equity-based crowdfunding platform,*** find that indicating that the chief executive officer holds a university degree and a higher number of business-related updates are associated with a lower risk of failure,which is in line with recent research on offering *** number of updates on external certification,promotions,and the team is associated with a higher risk of *** contrast to recent findings on offering success,we find that the equity share offered is positively related to post-offering success,whereas a high number of large investments or updates on campaign development are accompanied by a higher probability of *** results provide guidance for entrepreneurs and investors regarding which signals are worth sending or ***,these results suggest that investors are partly using wrong signals and challenge the rationality and wisdom of the crowd.
