The implementation of scalable quantum networks requires photons at the telecom band and long-lived spin coherence.The single Er^(3+) in solid-state hosts is an important candidate that fulfills these critical requirements simultaneously.However,to entangle distant Er^(3+) ions through photonic connections,the emission frequency of individual Er^(3+) in solid-state matrix must be the same,which is challenging because the emission frequency of Er^(3+) depends on its local environment.Herein,we propose and experimentally demonstrate the stark tuning of the emission frequency of a single Er^(3+) in a Y_(2)SiO_(5) crystal by employing electrodes interfaced with a silicon photonic crystal cavity.We obtain a stark shift of 182.9±0.8 MHz,which is approximately 27 times of the optical emission linewidth,demonstrating promising applications in tuning the emission frequency of independent Er^(3+) into the same spectral channels.Our results provide a useful solution for construction of scalable quantum networks based on single Er^(3+) and a universal tool for tuning emission of individual rare-earth ions.

We propose a promising scheme to repeatedly decelerate a pulsed molecular beam using a red-detuned quasi-cw semi-Gaussian laser beam (SGB) and an electrostatic storage ring.Using the Monte-Carlo simulation method,we demonstrate that this promising optical stark decelerator can be used to efficiently slow a pulsed ND3 molecular beam extracted from a stark decelerator or a cryogenic reservoir by using a single SGB.The deceleration effect of this scheme on the intensity of the SGB is discussed in detail.

A stark decelerator can slow down polar molecules to very low velocities.When the velocities are very low,the number of cold molecules obtained is very small.In order to obtain a higher quantity of cold molecules,inspired by the work of Reens et al.[Phys.Rev.Res.2(2020)033095],we propose an alternative method of operating a stark decelerator.Through the trajectory simulation of OH molecules in the decelerator,we find that the number of cold molecules can be greatly increased by one order of magnitude at both low and high final velocities on a stark decelerator consisting of around 150 electrodes.This development is due to the improved longitudinal and the transverse focusing property provided by the new switching schemes and the high-voltage configurations on the decelerator unit.

We consider the radiation from the beam electrons traveling in a strong uniform axial magnetic field and an axial alternating electric field of wavelength Aw generated by a voltage-supplied pill-box cavity. The beam electrons emit genuine laser radiation that propagates only in the axial direction through free-electron two- quantum stark radiation. We find that laser radiation takes place only at the expense of the axial kinetic energy when Aw 〈〈 c/（ωc/γ）, where ωc/γ is the relativistic electron--cyclotron frequency. We formulate the laser power based on quantum-wiggler electrodynamics, and envision a laser of length lore with estimated power 0.1 GW/（kA） in the 10-4 cm wavelength range.

The problem of a band electron in a crystal with alternating hoppings is investigated in the presence of a uniform electric field.Exact solutions for the energy spectrum and the wave functions are obtained with the help of SU(2) symmetry.It is found that the energy spectrum contains all orders of the reciprocal of the applied electric field besides the usual stark ladders.A theoretical analysis shows that in the weak field regime,such nonlinear terms will dominate the localization behavior of the band electron.Only in the strong field regime am the Wannie-stark localization be observed manifestly.The onset magnitude of the electric field strength for the occurrence of the Wannie-stark localization is about 2×105V/m for common semiconductor superlattices,which is consistent with experimental observations.

Resonances of Schrodinger operators are closely related to the poles ofcertain meromorphic extension of the resolvent. In this paper, we study the resonancesin stark effect, generated by negative eigenvalues. We give precise location for the reso-nances and prove in particular that the widths of resonances are exponentially small andcan be measured by some Agmon’s distance.

The field ionization thresholds of n=17,|m|=0,1 stark states of Sr atoms have been investigated by two-step excitation usingππ,πσpolarized lasers and both uniform and pulse electric fields.The results showed,contrary to the hydrogen's,higher-energy states generally have lower ionization thresholds,and that the|m|=0,1 Sr atoms exhibit partly adiabatic behavior at several avoided crossings in the passage to ionization.
