INTRODUCTION Tanycytic ependymoma is a rare subtype of the World Health Organization Grade il ependymoma most commonly found in the cervical and thoracic segments of the spinal cord. spinal tumors in neurofibromatosis type 2 （NF-2） can be intramedullary, extramedullary, or associated with the nerve roots, and there may be multiple tumors at multiple locations in the spine.

Diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumor （D-TGCT） belongs to a group of lesions believed to arise from tendon sheaths,bursae,or the synovium of diarthrodial *** etiology of D-TGCT is *** it shares histological characteristics with pigmented villonodular synovitis,however,D-TGCT is also termed extra-articular pigmented villonodular synovitis.D-TGCT,which occurs mainly in middle-aged women （20-50 years of age1）,usually involves large load-bearing joints （e.g.,knee,ankle,and hip）.Clinical case reports of D-TGCT involving the spine are rare.2 We retrospectively analyzed a series of three patients diagnosed with cervical D-TGCT in our department over a 10-year period.

spinal ependymomas(SEs) are common adult intramedullary tumors; however,determining the absolute boundary between the tumor and the tumor residual may be difficult. We assessed outcomes following the use of fluorescein sodium(FS) during surgical removal of SEs. We performed a retrospective analysis of 112 patients with SEs who were treated at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital between December 2014 and December 2016. Each patient received intravenous FS(3–4 mg/kg) to determine the SE boundaries during surgery. tumor removal efficiencies and tumor residuals were assessed using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) at 10 days and 3 months after surgical recovery; McC ormick's spinal function classification was also performed at the 3-month follow-up. The complete tumor removal rate was 92%(103/112). Ninetyfour patients underwent tumor removal under fluorescent light, which provided distinctive tumor fluorescence. tumor removal under white light was performed in18 patients; fluorescent images were invisible or indistinctive in these 18 patients. At the 3-month follow-up, sensory function(85.8%(91/106)) and movement(84.3%(86/102)) were improved in patients with pre-surgical dysfunction; urination and defecation functions were improved in 66.7%(16/24). The Mc Cormick spinal cord functional classifications, at the 3-month follow-up, showed significant differences in the percentages of patients with disease classified to each grade(I–IV), compared with preoperative classifications(each, P tumor relapse or residuals at the 3-month follow-up. FS use during the surgical treatment of SE enables complete tumor removal and detection of tumor residuals.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of magnetic resonance image (MRI) of spinal cord cavernous hemangioma. Methods Six cases of spinal cord cavernous heman-gioma diagnosed by MRI and confirmed by pathology were reviewed. The characteristics of MRI were analyzed and correlated with pathological characteristics of spinal cord cavernous hemangioma. Results In 4 cases, the tumors were located in thoracic segment of the spinal cord and 2 in cervical cord. All lesions were solitary and the spinal cords were normal or a little thicker. The MRI showed that the images of focus were ball-like popcorn or mulberry with mixed signal,with short T2 signal around the focus. Under microscope, the hemangioma was composed of highly expanded blood sinusoids and its wall was thin and consisted of flat epithelial cells. There were some red blood cells in the cavity of the sinusoid and a little fibrous tissue in the diazoma between blood sinusoids. And also some fresh and old hemorrhages could be seen in the specimen. Conclusion MRI has high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of spinal cavernous hemangioma.
