With the rapid development of space technology,earth observation tech nology and sky observatory technolo-gy,they have played a more and more im portant part in monitoring and predi cting of earthquakes and volcanoes i n the terres-trial *** recent years,the rela ted agencies have done the experimen ts and researches on monitoring and p redicting of earthquakes and volcanoes in the forewarning period by means of many appr oaches,such as satellite thermal in frared re-mote sensing(TIRS),Global Positioning System(GPS),differential interferometric syn thesis aperture radar(D-INSAR),astronomical time-latitude residual anomaly,and Geographic Information Systems (GIS),etc.A quite large number of re-search foundation has been built in t he fundamental theories and applica tion *** experiments and re searches have shown that these technology is e fficient methods for high frequency crust *** the existed separate scientific forces and results are possibly asse mbled together to form a more complete integration monitoring system wit h the combina-tion of space,sky observation,grou nd,deep geology and macro anomaly,i t will come into a new stage of monitoring and predicting of earthquakes and volca nic eruptions.

Film cooling,as one efficient active cooling method,will hopefully be used in‘hypersonic vehicles’in the *** hypersonic vehicle's surface is more likely a flat plate than a blunt body,so the cooling characteristics of two-dimensional(2-D)film cooling over a flat plate in hypersonic flow are studied using both theoretical analysis and numerical methods.A cooling efficiency calculation formula under a hypersonic condition is obtained and the numerical results show that it has great predicting *** with the low-speed main-flow condition,several differences exist in the hypersonic main-flow condition.A parameter called the‘generalized turbulent mixing coefficient’is introduced and its approximate value range is given based on numerical results.

The amount of waste heat in a space facility became larger, because of increase in the space platform size and its power consumption. It requires development of high-performance space thermal management systems handling a large amount of waste. Boiling two-phase flow could become powerful means for this system because a boiling and condensation system is one of the most efficient modes of heat transfer due to phase change （liquid-vapor）. However, gravity effects on boiling two-phase flow phenomena and the corresponding heat transfer characteristics are not clear. Therefore, we prepare the experiments of boiling two-phase flow utilizing a long-term microgravity environment onboard a Japanese Experimental Module ＂KIBO＂ in the International space Station （ISS） as one of the JAXA official projects. In this paper, recent progress of the preparation for the project is reported.

Gestures, besides speech, represent the mostly used means of expression by humans. For that regards the product design field, designers have multiple ways for communicating their ideas and concepts. One of them concerns the model making activity, where designers make explicit their concepts by using some appropriate tools and specific hand movements on plastic material with the intent of obtaining a shape. Some studies have demonstrated that visual, tactile and kinesthetic feedbacks are equally important in the shape creation and evaluation process. Moreover current computer aided tools aimed at supporting the conceptual phase of product design are not intuitive to use, and do not exploit designers’ skill and creativity. This paper presents the results of a research work aiming at integrating user-friendly and effective ways of interaction based on ad-hoc haptic interfaces into free-form shape modeling systems. The European project "Touch and Design" （T’nD） proposes the implementation of an innovative virtual clay modeling system based on novel haptic interaction modality oriented to industrial designers. In order to develop an intuitive and easy-to-use system, a study of designers’ hand modeling activities has been carried out by the project industrial partners supported by cognitive psychologists. The users’ manual operators and tools have been translated into corresponding haptic tools and multimodal interaction modalities in the virtual free-form shape modeling system. The paper presents the project research activities, the results achieved so far and the future related work.

The number of wireless networks that coexist in space is increasing *** allow coexistence while avoiding interference,it becomes important to properly characterize the propagation contour where the received power of wireless transmitters reaches a certain *** channel modeling taking into account the specificities of typical urban scenarios is however a very complex *** to the widespread use of wireless access technology,it becomes feasible to use network nodes to estimate and communicate these propagation *** this paper,we propose a lightweight practical scheme for local contour estimation of a given *** local estimate is efficiently propagated to all other secondary transmitters that can then meet interference constraints optimally,i.e.,without having to consider large safety margins that limit spatial reuse *** optimality is obtained through iterative power control based on true propagation contour distances and local pathloss *** overhead of the estimation and communication phases is simulated to be close to linear in the number of nodes,so that the solution scales *** scheme can be used for optimal power control in practical wireless networks,or for the deployment of secondary networks in areas with primary transmitters that should be protected.

With the development of space technology, the position system plays a crucial important role in both civil use and military use. The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System which designed by China has now reached the global layout stage and almost covered the whole region of China. To address the problem that The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System can only provide the absolute position information,latitude and longitude, this paper delivers a method which approximates the earth by a sphere in a small scope and uses the absolute position information,latitude and longitude in CGCS2000coordinate’s, to calculate the relative position *** result of the emulation experiment indicates that this method can be applied to obtain the high-precision relative position information in eighty kilometers of the practical use.

The key technology issues are identified,and solutions provided,based on the extensive Marconi space experience acquired through development of mobile payloads and internal development *** comparisons are made with the issues associated with the proposed global constellation systems.
