Carbides/carbon composites are emerging as a new kind of binary dielectric systems with good microwave absorption ***,we obtain a series of tungsten carbide/carbon composites through a simple solvent-free strategy,where the solid mixture of dicyandiamide(DCA)and ammonium metatungstate(AM)is employed as the *** cubic WC1-x nanoparticles(3-4 nm)are in situ generated and uniformly dispersed on carbon *** configuration overcomes some disadvantages of conventional carbides/carbon composites and is greatly helpful for electromagnetic *** is found that the weight ratio of DCA to AM can regulate chemical composition of these composites,while less impact on the average size of WC1-x *** the increase in carbon nanosheets,the relative complex permittivity and dielectric loss ability are constantly enhanced through conductive loss and polarization *** different dielectric properties endow these composites with distinguishable attenuation ability and impedance *** DCA/AM weight ratio is 6.0,the optimized composite can produce good microwave absorption performance,whose strongest reflection loss intensity reaches up to-55.6 dB at 17.5 GHz and qualified absorption bandwidth covers 3.6-18.0 GHz by manipulating the thickness from 1.0 to 5.0 *** a performance is superior to many conventional carbides/carbon composites.

We propose a rapid and solvent-flee route for synthesizing luminous carbon clusters by controlling carbonization of polyethylene glycol （PEG）. This approach does not involve solvents yet uses the precursor itself as suspend- ing medium, thus features mild and green chemistry, and also enables the formation of uniform-sized carbon clus- ters, of which the diameter can be easily tuned from 0.7 to 3.5 nm via control of reaction time. In term of the di- mension, the resultants are denoted as sub-nano carbon clusters （SNCs） and carbon dots （CDs）, respectively. Bene- fiting from surface anchored PEG segments, both of the two show favorable flowability at room temperature and excellent solubility in aqueous and organic solvents. Comparison of their optical performances and structures re- veals that they share the same chromophores. Particularly, the SNCs demonstrate robust photo- and pH-stable pho- toluminescence and can be directly applied to cell-imaging regarding to its prominent biocompatibility. Moreover, its quantum yield （5.5%）, which is approximately 3 times higher than that of CDs （1.5%）, can be dramatically en- hanced to 18.8% by facile chemical reduction. We anticipate that these PEG derivatives marked with easy synthesis, controllable optical performances and excellent physical properties will be highly appealing in future applications.

Development of the sustainable routes for synthesis of ITQ-family zeolites is very important because of their unique structures and excellent catalytic and adsorptive *** burden of costly raw materials and low efficiency of synthesis put a strong challenge for their widespread commercial ***,we show an alternative and simple route for synthesis of ITQ-12,ITQ-13,and ITQ-17 zeolites using commercially available organic templates by a facile grinding process of anhydrous starting raw solids,followed by heating at 140-180 ℃.Compared with the conventional hydrothermal synthesis,this approach has obvious advantages such as employment of low-cost organic templates with very high effectiveness,high yield of zeolite products,short crystallization time,and relatively simple *** methodology might open a pathway to synthesize ITQ zeolites with more sustainable manner.

A series of Co-imbedded zeolite-based catalysts were synthesized following a facile solvent-free grinding *** catalytic performance for direct syngas conversion to gasoline range hydrocarbons was compared with their counterpart Co-impregnated zeolite-based *** transformation of solid raw materials to targeted zeolite was confirmed by XRD,SEM,STEM,and N2 physisorption *** in-depth study of acidic strength and acidic site distribution was conducted by NH3-TPD and Py-IR *** strength showed a pivotal role in defining product ***@S1,with the weakest acidic strength of silicalite-1 among three types of zeolites,evaded over-cracking of product and exhibited the highest gasoline and isoparaffin selectivity(≈70%and 30.7%,respectively).Moreover,the solvent-free raw material grinding route for zeolite synthesis accompanies several advantages like the elimination of production of wastewater,high product yield within confined crystallization space,and elimination of safety concerns regarding high pressure due to the absence of the *** and easiness of the solvent-free synthesis route together with promising catalytic performance strongly support its application on the industrial scale.

The application of microwave techniques for chemical synthesis has attached considerable interests in recent years because of their enhanced selectivity, reduced reaction time ,easier work-up procedure. The synthesis of thiohydantoin derivatives is useful because they display a wide range of biological activities, including anticonvulsant1, antitumor2, antinociceptive3,thyroxine ingibitory properties4, as well as herbicidal and fungicidal reagents5. Recent studies have shown that some used as synthetic precursor of the marine natural product dispacamide6, and some used to synthesis novel optically active poly(amide-imide)s7. Therefore, many methods of synthesis of thiohydantoins have been explored8～10. Generally, these reactions were carried out in solution and using volatile and poisonous solvent, with long reaction *** order to overcome the disadvantages discussed above, avoid the use of a solvent and synthesize these valuable compounds rapidly and efficiently, we investigated a new way---solvent-free synthesis using a microwave *** this paper, a new and rapid solvent-free synthesis of thiohydantoins with microwave activation was studied. It was found that the addition reaction of aryl isothiocyanates and amino acid in the presence of sodium hydroxide and the cyclizative condensation of adduct in the presence of sodium hydrogen sulphate in a microwave oven takes place *** this new method, twelve thiohydantoins have been synthesized in excellent yield(83～91%).This method has significant advantages such as operational simplicity, shorter reaction time, higher yields and environmental acceptability. The structures of the products were characterized by IR, MS,1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. And more detailed work about the application of the thiohydantoins in analytical chemistry and physiological activity is in progress in our laboratory.

Full-color emissive carbon dots(CDs)hold a great promise for various applications,especially in light emitting diodes(LEDs).However,the existing synthetic routes for CDs are carried out in solutions,which suffer from low yields,high pressures,various byproducts,large amounts of waste solvents,and complicated photoluminescence(PL)***,it is necessary to explore large scale synthesis of CDs with high quantum yield(QY)across the entire visible range from a single carbon source by a solvent-free *** this work,a series of CDs with tunable PL emission from 442 to 621 nm,QY of 23%-56%,and production yield within 34%-72%,are obtained by heating o-phenylenediamine with the catalysis of *** characterizations identify that,the differences between these CDs with respect to the graphitization degree,graphitic nitrogen content,and oxygen-containing functional groups,are responsible for their distinct optical properties,which can be modulated by controlling the deamination and dehydrogenation processes during ***,green,yellow,red emissive films,and LEDs are prepared by dispersing the corresponding CDs into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA).All types of white LEDs(WLEDs)with high colorrendering-index(CRI),including warm WLEDs,standard WLEDs,and cool WLEDs,are also fabricated by mixing the red,green,and blue emissive CDs into PVA matrix by the appropriate ratios.

The novel efficient procedure has been developed for the conjugate addition of amines to electron deficient alkenes.A series of hydrotalcite-like materials were synthesized as catalyst for the conjugate addition of amines and *** optimizing the reaction conditions,ZnAl-LDHs (3:1) was chosen as the best catalyst for the *** results showed that the catalyst worked very well for the conjugate addition of amines to electron deficient alkenes with the excellent yields in several *** simplicity,no solvent,low cost of the catalyst,high yields,reusability,excellent chemoselectivity,wide applicability are the key features of this method.
