Conducting polymer poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl)(P3HT) has attracted intense research interest as hole-transporting materials(HTMs) in solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells(ss-DSCs).Nevertheless, pristine P3HT-based devices typically exhibit relatively poor overall performance, mainly due to its relatively low ***, we have successfully incorporated tetrafluoro-tetracyano-quinodimethane(F4TCNQ) as an efficient p-type dopant for P3HT as a HTM in *** introduction of F4TCNQ(1.0%, w/w) into P3HT film results in a significant increase of the bulk conductivity(more than 20 times), which dramatically improves the photovoltaic parameters, in particular, for the short-circuit current density and fill factor, leading to impressive power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 5.0%.This is the highest reported value for P3HT-based HTMs in ***, molecualrly p-doping has been demonstrated to be an effective strategy for improving the electrical property and thereby the overall performance of ss-DSCs based on P3HT as a HTM.
