There has been an explosion of cloud services as organizations take advantage of their continuity,predictability,as well as quality of service and it raises the concern about latency,energy-efficiency,and security.This increase in demand requires new configurations of networks,products,and service operators.For this purpose,the software-defined network is an efficient technology that enables to support the future network functions along with the intelligent applications and packet optimization.This work analyzes the offline cloud scenario in which machines are efficiently deployed and scheduled for user processing requests.Performance is evaluated in terms of reducing bandwidth,task execution times and latencies,and increasing throughput.A minimum execution time algorithm is used to compute the completion time of all the available resources which are allocated to the virtual machine and lion optimization algorithm is applied to packets in a cloud environment.The proposed work is shown to improve the throughput and latency rate.

In software-defined networking(SDN)networks,unlike traditional networks,the control plane is located separately in a device or program.One of the most critical problems in these networks is a controller placement problem,which has a significant impact on the network’s overall performance.This paper attempts to provide a solution to this problem aiming to reduce the operational cost of the network and improve their survivability and load balancing.The researchers have proposed a suitable framework called kernel search introducing integer programming formulations to address the controller placement problem.It demonstrates through careful computational studies that the formulations can design networks with much less installation cost while accepting a general connected topology among controllers and user-defined survivability parameters.The researchers used the proposed framework on six different topologies then analyzed and compared with Iterated Local Search(ILS)and Expansion model for the controller placement problem(EMCPP)along with considering several evaluation criteria.The results show that the proposed framework outperforms the ILS and EMCPP.Thus,the proposed framework has a 38.53%and 38.02%improvement in reducing network implementation costs than EMCPP and ILS,respectively.

As an emerging network paradigm,the software-defined network(SDN)finds extensive application in areas such as smart grids,the Internet of Things(IoT),and edge computing.The forwarding layer in software-defined networks is susceptible to eavesdropping attacks.Route hopping is amoving target defense(MTD)technology that is frequently employed to resist eavesdropping attacks.In the traditional route hopping technology,both request and reply packets use the same hopping path.If an eavesdropping attacker monitors the nodes along this path,the risk of 100%data leakage becomes substantial.In this paper,we present an effective route hopping approach,called two-day different path(TDP),that turns communication paths into untraceable moving targets.This technology minimizes the probability of data leakage by transmitting request data and reply data through different paths.Firstly,a brief introduction to the network model and attack model involved in this paper is given.Secondly,the algorithm and processingmethod of the TDP are proposed.Thirdly,the paper proposes three differentmetrics tomeasure the effectiveness of the proposed approach.Finally,theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the TDP can effectively reduce the percentage of data exposure,decrease eavesdropping attack success probability,and improve the unpredictability of the path.

software.defined networking(SDN) enables third.part companies to participate in the network function innovations. A number of instances for one network function will inevitably co.exist in the network. Although some orchestration architecture has been proposed to chain network functions, rare works are focused on how to optimize this process. In this paper, we propose an optimized model for network function orchestration, function combination model(FCM). Our main contributions are as following. First, network functions are featured with a new abstraction, and are open to external providers. And FCM identifies network functions using unique type, and organizes their instances distributed over the network with the appropriate way. Second, with the specialized demands, we can combine function instances under the global network views, and formulate it into the problem of Boolean linear program(BLP). A simulated annealing algorithm is designed to approach optimal solution for this BLP. Finally, the numerical experiment demonstrates that our model can create outstanding composite schemas efficiently.

Under the background of the rapid development of ground mobile communication,the advantages of high coverage,survivability,and flexibility of satellite communication provide air support to the construction of space information network.According to the requirements of the future space information communication,a software-defined Space-Air-Ground Integrated network architecture was proposed.It consisted of layered structure satellite backbone network,deep space communication network,the stratosphere communication network and the ground network.The Space-Air-Ground Integrated network was supported by the satellite backbone network.It provided data relay for the missions such as deep space exploration and controlled the deep-space spacecraft when needed.In addition,it safeguarded the anti-destructibility of stratospheric communication and assisted the stratosphere to supplement ground network communication.In this paper,algorithm requirements of the congestion control and routing of satellite backbone protocols for heterogeneous users’services were proposed.The algorithm requirements of distinguishing different service objects for the deep space communication and stratospheric communication network protocols were described.Considering the realistic demand for the dynamic coverage of the satellite backbone network and node cost,the multi-layer satellite backbone network architecture was constructed.On this basis,the proposed software-defined Space-Air-Ground Integrated network architecture could be built as a large,scalable and efficient communication network that could be integrated into space,air,and ground.

Satellite-Terrestrial integrated networks(STNs)have been advocated by both academia and industry as a promising network paradigm to achieve service continuity and ubiquity.However,STNs suffer from problems including poor flexibility of network architecture,low adaptability to dynamic environments,the lack of network intelligence,and low resource utilization.To handle these challenges,a software defined Intelligent STN(SISTN)architecture is introduced.Specifically,the hierarchical architecture of the proposal is described and a distributed deployment scheme for SISTNs controllers is proposed to realize agile and effective network management and control.Moreover,three use cases in SISTNs are discussed.Meanwhile,key techniques and their corresponding solutions are presented,followed by the identification of several open issues in SISTNs including compatibility with existing networks,the tradeoff between network flexibility and performance,and so on.

Data Center Traffic Scheduling Strategy for Minimization Congestion and Quality of Service Guaranteeing

According to Cisco’s Internet Report 2020 white paper,there will be 29.3 billion connected devices worldwide by 2023,up from 18.4 billion in 2018.5G connections will generate nearly three times more traffic than 4G connections.While bringing a boom to the network,it also presents unprecedented challenges in terms of flow forwarding decisions.The path assignment mechanism used in traditional traffic schedulingmethods tends to cause local network congestion caused by the concentration of elephant flows,resulting in unbalanced network load and degraded quality of service.Using the centralized control of software-defined networks,this study proposes a data center traffic scheduling strategy for minimization congestion and quality of service guaranteeing(MCQG).The ideal transmission path is selected for data flows while considering the network congestion rate and quality of service.Different traffic scheduling strategies are used according to the characteristics of different service types in data centers.Reroute scheduling for elephant flows that tend to cause local congestion.The path evaluation function is formed by the maximum link utilization on the path,the number of elephant flows and the time delay,and the fast merit-seeking capability of the sparrow search algorithm is used to find the path with the lowest actual link overhead as the rerouting path for the elephant flows.It is used to reduce the possibility of local network congestion occurrence.Equal cost multi-path(ECMP)protocols with faster response time are used to schedulemouse flows with shorter duration.Used to guarantee the quality of service of the network.To achieve isolated transmission of various types of data streams.The experimental results show that the proposed strategy has higher throughput,better network load balancing,and better robustness compared to ECMP under different traffic models.In addition,because it can fully utilize the resources in the network,MCQG also outperforms another traffic scheduling strategy that does rerouting for eleph

Although the software-defined network(SDN)is a well-controlled and efficient network but the complexity of open flow switches in SDN causes multiple issues.Many solutions have been proposed so far for the prevention of errors and mistakes in it but yet,there is still no smooth transmission of pockets from source to destination specifically when irregular movements follow the destination host in SDN,the errors include packet loss,data compromise etc.The accuracy of packets received at their desired destination is possible if networks for pockets and hosts are monitored instead of analysis of network snapshot statistically for the state,as these approaches with open flow switches,discover bugs after their occurrence.This article proposes a design to achieve the said objective by defining the Intelligent Transmission Control Layer(ITCL)layer.It monitors all the connections of end hosts at their specific locations and performs necessary settlements when the connection state changes for one or multiple hosts.The layer informs the controller regarding any state change at one period and controller collects information of end nodes reported via ITCL.Then,updates flow tables accordingly to accommodate a location-change scenario with a routechange policy.ICTL is organized on prototype-based implementation using the popular POX platform.In this paper,it has been discovered that ITCL produces efficient performance in the trafficking of packets and controlling different states of SDN for errors and packet loss.

software-defined network(SDN)becomes a new revolutionary paradigm in networks because it provides more control and network operation over a network infrastructure.The SDN controller is considered as the operating system of the SDN based network infrastructure,and it is responsible for executing the different network applications and maintaining the network services and functionalities.Despite all its tremendous capabilities,the SDN face many security issues due to the complexity of the SDN architecture.Distributed denial of services(DDoS)is a common attack on SDN due to its centralized architecture,especially at the control layer of the SDN that has a network-wide impact.Machine learning is now widely used for fast detection of these attacks.In this paper,some important feature selection methods for machine learning on DDoS detection are evaluated.The selection of optimal features reflects the classification accuracy of the machine learning techniques and the performance of the SDN controller.A comparative analysis of feature selection and machine learning classifiers is also derived to detect SDN attacks.The experimental results show that the Random forest(RF)classifier trains the more accurate model with 99.97%accuracy using features subset by the Recursive feature elimination(RFE)method.
