Ecology and social system of northern gibbons living in cold seasonal forests

Gibbons in China represent the northernmost margin of present day gibbon species distribution （around N25°）. Compared to tropical habitats, northern gibbon habitats are characterized by low temperatures and remarkable seasonal variation in fruit abundance How gibbons adapt to their cold and seasonal habitats and what ecological factors affect their sociality are key questions for understanding their ecology and social system evolution, the elucidation of which will contribute to the conservation of these special populations/species. According to preliminary short-term studies, northern gibbons consume more leaves and use larger home ranges than tropical gibbons. Interestingly, some Nomascus groups consist of more than one adult female. However, these preliminary results are not well understood or incorporated into current socio-ecological theories regarding gibbon species. To better understand northern gibbons, our team has systematically studied three habituated groups of Nomascus concolor, three groups of N. nasutus, and two habituated groups of Hoolock tianxing since 2002. In this paper, we stress the challenges facing gibbons living in northern habitats and summarize their behavioral adaptations to their harsh environments. We also describe the northern gibbon social system and discuss the potential relationships between their ecology and sociality. Finally, we highlight future research questions related to northern gibbons in China.

After the outbreak of COVID-19,the interaction of infectious disease systems and social systems has challenged traditional infectious disease modeling *** from the research purpose and data,researchers im-proved the structure and data of the compartment model or used agents and artificial intelligence based models to solve epidemiological *** terms of modeling methods,the researchers use compartment subdivi-sion,dynamic parameters,agent-based model methods,and artificial intelligence related *** terms of factors studied,the researchers studied 6 categories:human mobility,nonpharmaceutical interventions(NPIs),ages,medical resources,human response,and *** researchers completed the study of factors through modeling methods to quantitatively analyze the impact of social systems and put forward their suggestions for the future transmission status of infectious diseases and prevention and control *** review started with a research structure of research purpose,factor,data,model,and *** on the post-COVID-19 infectious disease prediction simulation research,this study summarized various improvement methods and analyzes matching improvements for various specific research purposes.

Communication and Society:Theoretical Legacy of Niklas Luhmann

Although he does not for a moment break the connection with the fundamental category of functionalism-the social system,Luhmann articulates the basic elements of his authentic sociological position precisely with the theoretical framework within which he solves the problem of social change through the concept of communication,a problem that has marked the history of sociological theory so *** categories of system and environment,system and purpose,and internal differentiation of the social system play a special role in that theoretical ***’s basic thesis is the position according to which the elementary process that constitutes society as a separate reality is the process of ***,any change in the way communication is produced simultaneously means a change in the way society is produced;these changes are evolutionary,which means that they move from a lower to a higher degree of complexity;changes in the level of complexity also change the relationship between the system and the environment;the change in the relationship between the system and the environment affects the internal relationship between the system and the purpose,that is,the differentiation of the system and the establishment of the autonomy of subsystems,which increases the degree of flexibility of society,that is,the ability of society to respond to the challenges of its own *** theoretical and practical relevance of this topic is more than explicit-one of the central issues of contemporary social and political practice is the articulation of increasingly rapid changes in complex social structures,so,in our opinion,Luhmann’s approach represents a significant theoretical legacy and an effective tool for understanding complex dynamics of the modern world.

Sociological Complexity Theory:From Epistemology to Empirical Methodology

This study,through a re-conceptualization of sociological complexity theory’s epistemological sources,specifically in Edgar Morin’s formulation,sheds light on the theoretical models as well as empirical methodologies of sociological analysis of today’s complex,interconnected,diverse and globalized society and global *** theory leads to a shift in perspective and a transformation of the epistemological status of social sciences with an in-depth intervention of disorder,contingency,case,singular,and non-repeatable in the sociological *** notion of dialogic interplay is placed at the paradigm level and stands out at the heart of the concepts,analyzing the social system as ***,the notion of‘emergence’at macro-micro levels imposes itself as complex,logically requiring overcoming simple,linear thinking and model of explanation to adopt the perspective of organizational rotativity in which the product retroacts by transforming the one producing it,by conceiving a circularity of co-production between individuals and society through *** epistemology and sociological complexity theory in the empirical methodology setting,the complex sociological approach is phenomenon-,event/information-and crisis-centered,privileging observation,participation-intervention,and‘live inquiry’.The open,in-depth and possibly non-directive interview is part of clinical sociological methodology,raising the question of the observer-phenomenon-observed relation.

Self-doubt and social Dependence of Main Characters in An American Tragedy

Based on the description of an ordinary American young man—Clyde’s short life,An American Tragedy mingled many social aspects of modern American society together,which portrayed the money-oriented and indifferent American *** analysis of the novel finds that the main characters shared some common traits,having both self-doubt and social *** didn’t believe in their own ability but trusted the so-called social hierarchy;they didn’t count on their own efforts to be better off but depended on the society,on others and on fortune;they didn’t adhere to their own faiths but attached to others’*** is clear through close studying that these characteristics resulted from American social system at that time,and the system made people mammonish,hidebound and *** this sense,the tragedy is not so much a tragedy of humanity as a tragedy of a society.

改革开放以来，中国在经济体制重构方面取得了举世瞩目的成就，而在深化改革的要求中，则包含着社会体制重构的内容。近年来，在社会治理创新的主题下，这一问题引起了广泛关注。社会体制重构是新的社会体制替代旧的社会体制的过程，需要通过创新行动去诠释和印证这个过程，也就是说，这是一个需要通过微观意义上的持续创新去实现的目标。本文着重探讨的是社会体制重构过程中的几个基本要素：创新、创新复制、阶段性均衡，也可以将它们看作是新的社会体制重构过程中一个创新单元中的三个环节，而整个社会体制重构过程无非是这三个环节构成的单元复制和持续展开。通过对一个创新单元的探讨，可以实现对社会体制重构的科学认识，从而作用于中国社会体制重构的实践。
