Robust Buffer Management Mechanism in Quality of Service Routers

Active queue management(AQM) is essentially a router buffer management strategy supporting TCP congestion *** existing AQM schemes exhibit poor performance and even instability in time delay uncertain networks,a robust buffer management(RBM) mechanism is proposed to guarantee the quality of service(QoS).RBM consists of a smith predictor and two independent *** smith predictor is used to compensate for the round trip time(RTT) delay and to restrain its negative influence on network *** main feedback controller and the disturbance rejection controller are designed as proportional-integral (PI) controller and proportional(P) controller by internal model control(IMC) and frequency-domain analysis *** simulation experiments in Netwrok-Simulator-2(NS2),it is demonstrated that RBM can effectively manage the buffer occupation around the target value against time delay and system disturbance. Compared with delay compensation-AQM algorithm(DC-AQM),proportional-integral-derivative(PID) algorithm and random exponential marking(REM) algorithm,the RBM scheme exhibits the superiority in terms of stability, responsiveness and robustness.

Congestion control algorithm in large-delay uncertain networks

Based on smith-fuzzy controller, a new active queue management （AQM） algorithm adaptable to the large-delay uncertain networks is presented. It can compensate the negative impact on the queue stability caused by the large delay, and it also maintains strong robustness under the condition of dynamic network fluid. Its stability is proven through Lyapunov method. Simulation results demonstrated that this method enables the queue length to converge at a preset value quickly and keeps the queue oscillation small, the simulation results also show that the scheme is very robust to disturbance under various network conditions and large delay and, in particular, the algorithm proposed outperforms the conventional PI control and fuzzy control when the network parameters and network delay change.

For multivariable coupling systems with large time delay,a feed-forward decoupling control algorithm is proposed based on the generalized predictive control（GPC）.Similar with feed-forward control former,the coupling effect from other control channels is handled as strong *** related coupling matrix λ and R in GPC algorithm are decomposed and proper parameters are chosen to realize the decoupling *** addition,the influence of multivariate and large time delay characteristics can be overcome by designing the fuzzy rules based smith predictive compensator,whose structural parameters are not depending on the decoupling *** simulation in the boiler temperature coupling system verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method,and the application method of GPC is expanded.

Sliding Mode Predictive Control of Main Steam Pressure in Coal-fired Power Plant Boiler

Since the combustion system of coal-fired boiler in thermal power plant is characterized as time varying, strongly coupled, and nonlinear, it is hard to achieve a satisfactory performance by the conventional proportional integral derivative (PID) control scheme. For the characteristics of the main steam pressure in coal-fired power plant boiler, the sliding mode control system with smith predictive structure is proposed to look for performance and robustness improvement. First, internal model control (IMC) and smith predictor (SP) is used to deal with the time delay, and sliding mode controller (SMCr) is designed to overcome the model mismatch. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller compared with conventional ones.

Aiming at the response delay problem in the liquid crystal optical phased array(LCOPA) system,this paper proposes a time-lagged liquid crystal optical phased array beam deflection control method based on smith prediction compensation to compensate for the hysteresis that exists in the system,improve the oscillations and overshoots brought about by data transmission and processing hysteresis,and eliminate the adverse effects of hysteresis,so as to realize the fast,accurate and stable deflection of the light beam by the liquid crystal optical phased array. According to the time lag fractional order model of liquid crystal optical phased array system,the smith predictor compensator and fractional order control system are designed,the smith predictor is used to compensate for the delay of the system,the fractional order PID controller is used to finely adjust the response of the system,and the sparrow search algorithm is proposed to be utilized for the tuning of the controller parameters. The time-lagged system was evaluated using step response,beam deflection tracking,and robustness tests. The simulation results indicate that the liquid crystal optical phased array beam deflection system,equipped with a smith predictor and a fractional-order controller,demonstrates rapid responsiveness,precise control,effective tracking capabilities,and strong robustness.
