Stability Prediction in smart grid Using PSO Optimized XGBoost Algorithm with Dynamic Inertia Weight Updation

Prediction of stability in SG(smart grid)is essential in maintaining consistency and reliability of power supply in grid *** the fluctuations in power generation and consumption patterns of smart cities assists in effectively managing continuous power supply in the *** also possesses a better impact on averting overloading and permitting effective energy *** though many traditional techniques have predicted the consumption rate for preserving stability,enhancement is required in prediction measures with minimized *** overcome the complications in existing studies,this paper intends to predict stability from the smart grid stability prediction dataset using machine learning *** accomplish this,pre-processing is performed initially to handle missing values since it develops biased models when missing values are mishandled and performs feature scaling to normalize independent data ***,the pre-processed data are taken for training and *** that,the regression process is performed using Modified PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization)optimized XGBoost Technique with dynamic inertia weight update,which analyses variables like gamma(G),reaction time(tau1–tau4),and power balance(p1–p4)for providing effective future stability in *** PSO attains optimal solution by adjusting position through dynamic inertial weights,it is integrated with XGBoost due to its scalability and faster computational speed *** hyperparameters of XGBoost are fine-tuned in the training process for achieving promising outcomes on *** results are measured through evaluation metrics such as MSE(Mean Square Error)of 0.011312781,MAE(Mean Absolute Error)of 0.008596322,and RMSE(Root Mean Square Error)of 0.010636156 and MAPE(Mean Absolute Percentage Error)value of 0.0052 which determine the efficacy of the system.

smart grids(SGs)are introduced as a solution for standard power *** signiﬁcant capabilities of smart grids help to monitor consumer behaviors and power ***,the delay-sensitive network faces numer-ous challenges in which security and privacy gain more *** to trans-mitted messages,control over smart grid information and user privacy are the major concerns in smart grid *** secure communication between the service provider and the user is the only possible solution for these security ***,this research work presents an efﬁcient mutual authentication and key agreement protocol for smart grid communication using elliptic curve crypto-graphy which is robust against security threats.A trust authority module is intro-duced in the security model apart from the user and service provider for *** proposed approach performance is veriﬁed based on different security features,communication costs,and computation *** comparative analysis of experimental results demonstrates that the proposed authentication model attains better performance than existing state of art of techniques.

This review explores the research activities surrounding the development and integration of smart electricity grids in Burkina Faso, a landlocked and arid territory in West Africa and one of the poorest countries in the world with significant energy challenges. It examines the current state of energy infrastructure in Burkina Faso, focusing on the integration of renewable energy sources, particularly solar photovoltaics. It highlights the role of smart grid technologies in enabling the efficient integration of renewable energy, improving grid stability and facilitating rural electrification. Additionally, the review addresses key challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, regulatory gaps and financial constraints that hinder the deployment of smart grids in the country. By analysing existing research and ongoing projects, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and barriers to implementing a smart electricity grid in Burkina Faso and offers recommendations for future development and policy frameworks.

By integrating the traditional power grid with information and communication technology, smart grid achieves dependable, efficient, and flexible grid data processing. The smart meters deployed on the user side of the smart grid collect the users' power usage data on a regular basis and upload it to the control center to complete the smart grid data acquisition. The control center can evaluate the supply and demand of the power grid through aggregated data from users and then dynamically adjust the power supply and price, etc. However, since the grid data collected from users may disclose the user's electricity usage habits and daily activities, privacy concern has become a critical issue in smart grid data aggregation. Most of the existing privacy-preserving data collection schemes for smart grid adopt homomorphic encryption or randomization techniques which are either impractical because of the high computation overhead or unrealistic for requiring a trusted third party.

EFFECT: an efficient flexible privacy-preserving data aggregation scheme with authentication in smart grid

smart grid is considered as a promising approach to solve the problems of carbon emission and energy crisis. In smart grid, the power consumption data are collected to optimize the energy ***, security issues in communications still present practical concerns. To cope with these challenges, we propose EFFECT, an efficient flexible privacy-preserving aggregation scheme with authentication in smart grid. Specifically, in the proposed scheme, we achieve both data source authentication and data aggregation in high efficiency. Besides, in order to adapt to the dynamic smart grid system, the threshold for aggregation is adjusted according to the energy consumption information of each particular residential area and the time period, which can support fault-tolerance while ensuring individual data privacy during *** security analysis shows that our scheme can satisfy the desired security requirements of smart *** addition, we compare our scheme with existing schemes to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed scheme in terms of low computational complexity and communication overhead.

Distributed consensus-based algorithm for social welfare in smart grid with transmission losses

In this paper, we present a distributed consensus-based algorithm to solve the social welfare maximization problem. This is one of typical problems of distributed energy management in smart grid. In this problem, we consider not only the generator and demand, but also the transmission losses which make the feasibility set of the formulated problem a non-convex set. In solving this issue, we find a noticeable result that the primal problem has the same solution with a new convex optimization problem by getting the utmost out of the implied term in practice. Considering the general communication topology among generators and demands, we first design a finite step algorithm to make each generator and demand know the information of parameters of ***, we design a distributed algorithm and also prove the optimality and convergence of the proposed algorithm. Finally, the convergence and optimality are examined through extensive simulations.

Preventing False Trips of Zone 3 Protection Relays in smart grid

While remote zone 3 protection relays are essential to power systems, their false trips are also one of main causes related to cascading blackouts. Although many methods have been developed on traditional power systems to address this issue, the past cascading failure events showed the ineffectiveness of these methods. With the development of smart grid （SG）, new agent-based methods have been proposed to address this issue by utilizing SG real-time communications. We found that these solutions simply assume ideal communication networks and do not consider the effect of practical network constraints and resource management. In this paper, we propose several solutions to address practical network resource management and constraints, and further improve the agent-based solutions in order to prevent the false tripping of zone 3 relays in various conditions. We also analyze the potential issues of these solutions, and point out the future investigation in this direction.
