Dynamic modeling was carried on by combining the dynamic of machinery with composite triology, and the critical condition in which the ways would not produce composite-friction self-excited vibration was obtained. The movement regularity and characteristic of the airflow in exhaust gas slit were analyzed, and the relationship between pressure lost and geometry parameters of exhaust gas slit was obtained. A dynamic model and a mathematical model were established for pneumatic half-floating slide ways by combining the dynamics of machinery with hydrokinetics. The objective function for the optimization of slide ways was established based on the fuzzy optimization theory. The membership function of fuzzy constraint was deduced, the fuzzy constraint limit was established by amplification coefficient method, and the optimal value was resolved by the multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. By combining the internal penalty function method with the variable metric method, the fuzzy optimization design program of ways was designed based on the Matlab platform. The validation was carried on by an example, and ideal results of fuzzy optimization design of slide ways were obtained.

In order to explore whether radon anomaly could be considered the precursor of rock slide, the forming mechanism of the radon anomaly is qualitatively analysed according to the relationship between rock rupture and radon content. It is indicated that the rock microfracture may be one of the reasons leading to the radon anomaly before rock slide, suggesting that the CR-39 solid state nuclear track detector could be used to monitor the radon concentration in the region of the slide. The information may then be used to predict rock slide.

Multi-beam bathymetry and seismic sequence surveys in the northern slope of the South China Sea reveal detailed geomorphology and seismic stratigraphy characteristics of canyons, gullies, and mass movements. Modern canyons and gullies are roughly elongated NNW–SSW with U-shaped cross sections at water depths of 400–1000 m. Mass movements include slide complexes, slide scars, and debris/turbidity flows. slide complexes and slide scars are oriented in the NE–SW direction and cover an area of about 1790 and 926 km^2, respectively. The debris/turbidity flows developed along the lower slope. A detailed facies analysis suggests that four seismic facies exist, and the late Cenozoic stratigraphy above the acoustic basement can be roughly subdivided into three sequences separated by regional unconformities in the study area. The occurrence of gas hydrates is marked by seismic velocity anomalies, bottom-simulating reflectors, gas chimneys, and pockmarks in the study area. Seismic observations suggest that modern canyons and mass movements formed around the transition between the last glacial period and the current interglacial period. The possible existence and dissociation of gas hydrates and the regional tectonic setting may trigger instability and mass movements on the seafloor. Canyons may be the final result of gas hydrate dissociation. Our study aims to contribute new information that is applicable to engineering construction required for deep-water petroleum exploration and gas hydrate surveys along any marginal sea.

We describe a procedure of slide pharyngo-esophagoplasty for restoration following ablation of hypopharyngeal cancer in a 99 year-old man. The elderly presented to our hospital with 2-month dysphagia, occasional bloody salivation, and 2-day respiratory distress. To solve the problems of swallowing difficulty and dyspnea, he underwent laryngopharyngectomy, permanent tracheostomy, and slide pharyngo-esophagoplasty. The patient was uneventful after the restoration procedure.

Short-term load forecast plays an important role in the day-to-day operation and scheduling of generating units. Season and temperature are the most important factors that affect the load change, but random factors such as big sport events or popular TV shows can change demand consumption in particular hours, which will lead to sudden load changes. A weighted time-variant slide fuzzy time-series model (WTVS) for short-term load forecasting is proposed to improve forecasting accuracy. The WTVS model is divided into three parts, including the data preprocessing, the trend training and the load forecasting. In the data preprocessing phase, the impact of random factors will be weakened by smoothing the historical data. In the trend training and load forecasting phase, the seasonal factor and the weighted historical data are introduced into the Time-variant slide Fuzzy Time-series Models (TVS) for short-term load forecasting. The WTVS model is tested on the load of the National Electric Power Company in Jordan. Results show that the proposed WTVS model achieves a significant improvement in load forecasting accuracy as compared to TVS models.
