In this paper,the problem of model reference adaptive controller design with actuator failure is solved for a series of uncertain singular systems.The research on partial actuator failure is relatively mature and it is necessary to solve the problem of how to guarantee the system performance when the actuator fails completely.For this reason,we treat the system with actuator failure as a switching system with two subsystems and then solve the stability analysis problem of the error switching system.The emphasis is to design the adaptive controller by some sufficient linear matrices inequalities(LMIs)conditions and obtain the global stability criterion of the error switching system through the resident time method.Finally,the proposed method is applied to HiMAT aircraft to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this kind of problem.

This paper addresses the almost surely exponential(ASE)stabilisation problem of continuoustime singular semi-Markov jump systems(s-MJSs),where the state at jump instants is discontinuous.Because of such a discontinuity existing,the consistency of initial condition at jump instants is impossible to be ensured but is an essential issue of singular systems.A proportional-derivative(PD)state feedback controller is proposed to deal with it such that the closed-loop singular s-MJSs is normal and ASE-stable.New sufficient conditions for the existence of such a controller are derived as linear matrix inequalities,which includes some existing considered systems as special situations.Two numerical examples are used to show the effectiveness and superiority of the methods.

To study the design problem of robust reliable guaranteed cost controller for nonlinear singular stochastic systems, the Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy model is used to represent a nonlinear singular stochastic system with norm-bounded parameter uncertainties and time delay. Based on the linear matrix inequality （LMI） techniques and stability theory of stochastic differential equations, a stochastic Lyapunov function method is adopted to design a state feedback fuzzy controller. The resulting closed-loop fuzzy system is robustly reliable stochastically stable, and the corresponding quadratic cost function is guaranteed to be no more than a certain upper bound for all admissible uncertainties, as well as different actuator fault cases. A sufficient condition of existence and design method of robust reliable guaranteed cost controller is presented. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper considers the problem of delay-dependent robust stability for uncertain singular systems with additive time-varying delays. The purpose of the robust stability problem is to give conditions such that the uncertain singular system is regular, impulse free, and stable for all admissible uncertainties. The results are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper presents a new approach to singular system analysis by modeling the system in terms of orthog- onal triangular functions （TFs）. The proposed method is more accurate compared to block pulse function-based analysis with respect to mean integral square error （MISE）. A numerical example involving four states of a singular system is treated and solutions obtained thereof. Four tables and relevant curves are presented to compare the respective coefficients in block pulse function （BPF） domain as well as in TF domain. The percentage error of the samples determined via TF domain are compared with the exact samples of the states. Furthermore, MISE for both BPF and TF analysis are computed and compared to reveal the efficiency of TF-based analysis.

The problem of observer-based robust predictive control is studied for the singular systems with norm-bounded uncertainties and time-delay, and the design method of robust predictive observer-based controller is proposed. By constructing the Lyapunov function with the error terms, the infinite time domain ＂min-max＂ optimization problems are converted into convex optimization problems solving by the linear matrix inequality （LMI）, and the sufficient conditions for the existence of this control are derived. It is proved that the robust stability of the closed-loop singular systems can be guaranteed by the initial feasible solutions of the optimization problems, and the regular and the impulse-free of the singular systems are also guaranteed. A simulation example illustrates the efficiency of this method.

The problem of robust stabilization for uncertain singular time-delay systems is studied. First, a new delay-dependent asymptotic stability criteria for normal singular time-delay systems is given, which is less conservative. Using this result, the problem of state feedback robust stabilization for uncertain singular time-delay systems is discussed, Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the results.

The problem of stability for singular systems with two additive time-varying delay components is investigated. By constructing a simple type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and utilizing free matrix variables in approximating certain integral quadratic terms, a delay-dependent stability criterion is established for the considered systems to be regular, impulse free, and stable in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Based on this criterion, some new stability conditions for singular systems with a single delay in a range and regular systems with two additive time-varying delay components are proposed. These developed results have advantages over some previous ones in that they have fewer matrix variables yet less conservatism. Finally, two numerical examples are employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.
