In order to solve the complex optimization problem dealing with uncertain phenomenon effectively, this paper presents a probability simulation optimization approach using orthogonal genetic algorithm. This approach synthesizes the computer simulation technology, orthogonal genetic algorithm and statistical test method faultlessly, which can solve complex optimization problem effectively. In this paper, the author gives the correlative conception of probability simulation optimization and describes the probability simulation optimization approach using orthogonal genetic algorithm in detail. Theoretically speaking, it has a strong rationality and maneuverability that can apply probability method in solving the complex optimization problems with uncertain phenomenon. In demonstration, the optimization performance of this method is better than other traditional methods. simulation resuh suggests that the approach referred to this paper is feasible, correct and valid.

Predictive control has recently received much attention from researchers. However a challenging problem to be solved is how to tune the parameters of the predictive controller. So far, only few guidelines related to tuning of the parameters of predictive controllers have been provided in literature. In practice, these parameters are generally off-line determined by the designers' experience. From the point of view of process control, it is difficult to find out the optimal parameters for the control system based on a single quadratic performance index, which is used in the standard predictive control algorithm. The fuzzy decision-making function is investigated in this paper. Firstly, M control actions are achieved by unconstrained predictive control algorithm, and fuzzy goals and fuzzy constraints are then calculated and the global satisfaction degree is obtained by fuzzy inference. Moreover, the weighting coefficient λ in the cost function is tuned using simulation optimization according to the fuzzy criteria.

Low-carbon building heating system coupled with semiconductor radiation heating and distributed PV:A simulation analysis in two Chinese climate zones

With the global trend of environmental protection and emission reduction, it is very necessary for container liner corporation to consider carbon emissions in fleet deployment for liners. In this paper, we discuss the problem of fleet deployment for liners under low-carbon economy. With the target of maximizing profit of the fleet and the minimizing amount of carbon emissions, we establish the simulation optimization model of fleet deployment for liners and use the tabu search algorithm to obtain a reasonable fleet deployment scheme. The results show that the model and the method proposed in this paper can effectively balance and optimize the targets of operating profit and carbon emission, and the decision result is more in line with the requirements of the decision makers. Compared with the traditional mathematical model, this model and method can consider more uncertainties, which makes the fleet deployment scheme easier to be applied in practice.

Building is an important scenario for achieving global carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals,accounting for approximately 37%of global energy-related CO_(2) emissions in 2020.In the meanwhile,the construction and operation of buildings was responsible for 36%of global energy consumption,of which 30%energy was used for space heating.Therefore,this paper proposes a low-carbon building heating system that is coupled to a new semiconductor radiation heating unit and distributed rooftop photovoltaic to reduce carbon emissions.To reveal its building heating characteristics,a dynamic model of heat transfer based on semiconductor low-temperature radiant heating is first established by analyzing the heat conduction,convection,and radiation models,and the uncertainty from both the distributed rooftop photovoltaic and building heating demand is considered in the building heating operation strategy.Then,a simulation model of a low-carbon building heating system is built in MATLAB/SIMULINK for two different climate zones in China(Beijing and Wuhan).When building and using the low-carbon building heating system stable for 30 years,the payback period is 5.2–8.2 years in Beijing and 6.4–11.6 years in Wuhan.Compared with the traditional grid-powered heating system,the simulation revealed that the carbon emissions of Beijing and Wuhan during the heating season are reduced by 44.9%and 44.3%,respectively,and the corresponding building heating cost is saved by 62.1%and 57.8%.

Purpose In order to achieve a high-precision measurement of the incident and the reﬂected power,a WR1800 rectangular waveguide directional coupler with high directivity and high power level has been in-house developed.Multiple couplers will be installed in the 500-MHz high-power radio-frequency transmission lines delivering 200-kW continuous-wave power for the High Energy Photon Source(HEPS).Methods The directional coupler adopts the design scheme of primary and secondary transmission lines and coaxial coupling-head structure.The shape and dimensional parameters of the coupling head were carefully optimized by using microwave simulation codes.An optimum directivity of 64 dB was achieved in simulations.Results and conclusions A prototype coupler was subsequently manufactured,and its directivity was measured to be 48.2 dB following a rigorous calibration procedure,largely exceeding the design goal and the commercial product.The coupler was then connected to an existing 500-MHz klystron system,and a high-power test with short-circuit termination was conducted.The high directivity of the coupler was conﬁrmed up to 200 kW.During the 6 hours of power aging with continuous-wave 200 kW in a standing-wave setup,no performance degradation was observed on the coupler.The coupler temperature was measured to be 20◦C above the ambient environment.The design requirements were comfortably fulﬁlled.These constitute theﬁrst in-house development of a large-size waveguide directional coupler with high directivity and high power level for HEPS.The design,fabrication,and performance tests of the directional coupler are presented.

Call centers have grown world-wide during the past decade. One of the most important aspects considered by call center managers is the optimization of its operators, which implies covering the highly variable demand and f＇mding an efficient way to assign people to certain shifts in order to achieve a desirable service level and abandonment rate. Another challenge is determining which system setup is appropriate for the specific call center. Should we have a single-skill call center or multi-skill call center？ If we do have the latter, how many multi-skill agents should we have on staff？. In this case study, we generate and analyze discrete-event systems simulation-optimization models to test the behavior of a real-world call center under the actual configuration and under different levels of cross-training. The model results help call center managers by： 1） determining the optimal number of operators needed for different staff configtmations in order to achieve the targets for service level and abandonment; 2） providing information about the trade-off between the key measurements in the call center; and 3） providing useful information about the number of operators needed and used for each hour of operation to estimate the number of four-hour shifts required to achieve the performance targets. Our experimental f＇mdings from this case study suggest that a bi-skill call center is economically better in the long-rtm compared to a full-skill or single-skill call center. This case study augments the call center body of knowledge by providing additional managerial insights for the operations management community.

Network-based manufacturing is a kind of distributed system, which enables manufacturers to finish production tasks as well as to grasp the opportunities in the market, even if manufacturing resources are insufficient. One of the main problems in network-based manufacturing is the allocation of resources and the assignment of tasks rationally, according to flexible resource distribution. The mapping rules and relations between production techniques and resources are proposed, followed by the definition of the resource unit. Ultimately, the genetic programming method for the optimization of the manufacturing system is put forward. A set of software for the optimization system of simulation process using genetic programming techniques has been developed, and the problems of manufacturing resource planning in network-based manufacturing are solved with the simulation of optimizing methods by genetic programming. The optimum proposal of hardware planning, selection of company and scheduling will be obtained in theory to help company managers in scientific decision-making.

simulation is a powerful technique in evaluating and improving the performance of complex systems.In order to improve the efficiency of simulation experiment design,analysis and evaluation,auxiliary tools are required.Unfortunately,existing tools are usually not meeting the requirements of simulation.Moreover,the restricted interfaces,reusability and expandability influence their efficiency to a certain extent.In this paper,an integrated software environment,HIT-SEDAES,is designed for solving these problems.A process model of simulation experiment design,analysis and evaluation is introduced to guide the development of the software environment.And several solutions are proposed to solve key problems in this development.Finally,an application is used to illustrate how the software environment works for the problems of model validation,effectiveness evaluation and performance analysis.
