Temporal variations and source apportionment of volatile organic compounds at an urban site in shijiazhuang, China

shijiazhuang,the city with the worst air quality in China,is suffering from severe ozone pollution in *** the key precursors of ozone generation,it is necessary to control the Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs)*** have a better understanding of the pollution status and source contribution,the concentrations of 117 ambient VOCs were analyzed from April to August 2018 in an urban site in *** showed that the monthly average concentration of total VOCs was 66.27 ppbv,in which,the oxygenated VOCs(37.89%),alkanes(33.89%),and halogenated hydrocarbons(13.31%)were the main composite *** major sources were identified using Positive Matrix Factorization modeling with an accurate VOCs emission inventory as inter-complementary methods revealed that the petrochemical industry(26.24%),other industrial sources(15.19%),and traffic source(12.24%)were the major sources for ambient VOCs in *** spatial distributions of major industrial activities emissions were identified by using geographic information statistics system,which illustrated the VOCs was mainly from the north and southeast of *** inverse trajectory analysis using Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)and Potential Source Contribution Function(PSCF)clearly demonstrated the features of pollutant transport to *** findings can provide references for local governments regarding control strategies to reduce VOCs emissions.

Research on numerical simulation of the groundwater funnels restoration in shijiazhuang

In order to simulate the recovery of groundwater funnels under the condition of reducing groundwater abstraction, hydrogeological conditions of recoverability construction of shijiazhuang groundwater funnel were analyzed, and a numerical simulation method was used based on the change of various parameters. The results show that the groundwater flow model can accurately reflect groundwater hydrogeological characteristics, and can guarantee the reliability of groundwater restoration prediction. The research has set up four schemes for rural water-saving, planting structure adjustment, urban reducing abstraction and integrated method. The effect of four restoration schemes on the restoration of groundwater funnels was compared with water table variations of two observation well. Comparison results show that the level changes of plan Three and Four are different from the other two kinds of exploitation and the drop trend of water table in the funnel area is flat. So we can conclude that Plan Three and Four have significant effect on the groundwater funnel restoration of shijiazhuang.

Resident's Floor Level Preference in High-Rise Residential Buildings in China:A Case Study of shijiazhuang City,Hebei Province

With the constant advance of global urbanization and aggravation of urban construction land scarcity,high-rise residential buildings have become one of the main carriers of urban residential function on account of both land saving and large housing ***,relevant studies on consumers' floor selection preference in high-rise residential buildings,regarding what inherent and regular features and causes it has,are still insufficient,despite that related issues have important practical significance for real estate developers and designers' decision making in terms of dwelling size ratio,floor area,indoor layout,and so *** study,based on systematic examination of existing domestic and international researches,seeks to make empirical tests and generalization on the above issues from the aspect of "utility function"(safety,comfortableness,accessibility and economic efficiency) of the living environment that impacted by different floor levels,and floor selection features regarding consumers' social and family structure attributes,as well as the intrinsic correlation between *** results show the existence of floor level preference in high-rise residential *** essence is a personalized characterization of consumers' social and family structures' attributes in selecting the "utility function" of the living environment,as the preference value differs under various attributes including gender,age,income,family members and others.

shijiazhuang is one of the cities in the North China *** recent decades,this city has experienced high levels of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)),which have potentially significant effects on human *** this study,the health effects of PM_(2.5)exposure in shijiazhuang were estimated by applying an integrated exposure-response *** mortality,years of life lost(YLL),and the mortality benefits linked to reduced levels of PM_(2.5)were quantified for the period 2015–*** 2015,2016,and 2017,cerebrovascular diseases caused the highest premature mortality(2432,2449,and 2483,respectively),followed by ischemic heart diseases(1391,1479,and 1493,respectively),lung cancer(639,660,and 639,respectively),and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(533,519,and 473,respectively).Notably,the total number of premature deaths caused by PM_(2.5)exposure in shijiazhuang in 2015,2016,and 2017 were 4994,5107,and 5088,***,the YLL in the same years were 47001,47880 and 47381,***,the YLL per 1000 females was lower than that per 1000 ***,we noted that premature mortality and YLL decreased by 84.2%and 84.6%when the PM_(2.5)levels diminished to 10µg/m^(3).Overall,the results of this study improve our understanding of how high PM_(2.5)concentrations affect human health and suggest the application of more stringent measures in shijiazhuang to alleviate the associated health risks.

Study on the Correlation between Temperature and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in shijiazhuang, China—Retrospective Cohort

Using the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) medical records from January 1st to December 31st of 2013 and the Meteorological observation data, the air pollution data in the same time periods, generalized additive models were used to quantitatively analyze the relationship between COPD hospitalizations and temperature with controlling the confounding effects of time trend, meteorological factors and air pollution index (AQI). Results showed: variable temperature in 24 h (BT), 3d lagged minimum temperature (Tm3) and 5d lagged diurnal maximum temperature and minimum temperature range (Tc5) have different effects on COPD hospitalizations. When BT is between -4.4°C and -0.7°C, the relative risk (RR) increases to 1.0207 (95% CI: 1.0074 - 1.0342)with every 1°C increase in BT;when Tm3 is between -3.6°C and 3.2°C, the relative risk (RR) increases to 1.0118 (95% CI: 1.0015 - 1.0222)with every 1°C increase in Tm3, and when Tm3 is greater than 20.5°C, the relative risk (RR) increases to 1.0069 (95% CI: 1.0005 - 1.0133) with every 1°C increase in Tm3;when Tc5 is between 0.9°C and 8.6°C, if the Tc5 increases 1°C, the relative risk (RR) increases to 1.0125 (95% CI: 1.0066 - 1.0185. There are different effects for weather in different seasons on COPD hospitalizations: in autumn and winter, it is mainly of little BT and heavy air pollution weather;in spring, the large Tc5 weather is a main feature, and in summer, it’s mainly of high temperature and low pressure weather. The results help to provide some guidance on COPD forecasting services.
