It is becoming increasingly prevalent in digital learning research to encompass an array of different meanings,spaces,processes,and teaching strategies for discerning a global perspective on constructing the student learning *** is an emergent phenomenon that may influence how digital learning is designed,especially when employed in highly interactive and immersive learning environments such as Virtual Reality(VR).VR environments may aid students'efforts to be active learners through consciously attending to,and reflecting on,critique leveraging reflexivity and novel meaning-making most likely to lead to a conceptual *** paper employs eleven industrial case-studies to highlight the application of multimodal VR-based teaching and training as a pedagogically rich strategy that may be designed,mapped and visualized through distinct VR-design elements and *** outcomes of the use cases contribute to discern in-VR multimodal teaching as an emerging discourse that couples system design-based paradigms with embodied,situated and reflective praxis in spatial,emotional and temporal VR learning environments.

On the Commercial of iPhone 5: Perspective from Multimodal Transcription and Analysis

The present study applies a multimodal approach to demonstrate the features of the commercial of iPhone 5. Following the analytical frameworks of functional semiotic account of images by Kress & van Leeuwen(2006), and music soundtracks by Barton & Unsworth(2014) from two semiotic resources--image, and music, the roles of which are further stressed, and implications can be found in the choice of background music in the design of commercials.

The Multimodal Discourse Analysis of the Film Poster “yi tiao gou de shi ming”(A Dog's Purpose)

Nowadays, more and more semiotic resources are used in designing film posters. Thus, the multimodal discourse analysis is more adaptive when we want to interpret the meanings of these resources accurately. Under the circumstances, this article analyzes the film poster named "yi tiao gou de shi ming" based on Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL) and Kress and Van Leeuwen’s Visual Grammar(VG). It aims to investigate how to use the VG to analyze film posters. As a result, it shows the representational meaning and the interactive meaning expressed through this film poster.
