Application of on-line quality control for salvianolic acid B by near infrared spectroscopy

OBJECTIVE: To study and establish quality con-trol model of the salvianolic Acid B by Near In-frared Spectroscopy (NIRS), and to realize on-line quality control of extracting and purifying proc-esses of industrial scale herbal product manu-facturing. METHOD: NIR chromatography was obtained from on-line NIR detection of extract-ing process and purifying process. HPLC analysis was carried out to determine the con-tents of salvianolic acid B. Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS) was used to establish the model between the information between NIRS and HPLC. RESULTS: For extracting model: the optimum Near Infrared (NIR) wavelength range was 9815- 5430cm-1, R=0.9784, RMSEC=0.258;for puri-fying model: the optimum NIR wavelength range was 9815-5430cm-1, R=0.9776, RMSEC=4.02. The average relative error was salvianolic acid B.

[Objectives]This study aimed to investigate the inhibition effects of two chemical constituents in Salvia deserta Schang on human aldose reductase( AR). [Methods]The isolated salvianolic acid M and rosmarinic acid were prepared into different concentrations of solutions for in vitro enzyme kinetics experiments. [Results]salvianolic acid M and rosmarinic acid had the strongest inhibition effects at the concentration of 1 g/L. [Conclusions]salvianolic acid M and rosmarinic acid have inhibition effects on human aldose reductase. The IC50 of salvianolic acid M is 0. 79 μg/mL,and that of rosmarinic acid is 1. 13 μg/mL.

Protective effect of salvianolic acid A against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction in mice

OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect of salvianolic acid A(Sal A)on isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction in mice and its possible *** The mice were subcutaneously injected with isopropranol(ISO 8mg·kg-1)to induce myocardial infarction and evaluated the myocardial protective effect of Sal A from mortality rate,electrocardiogram(ECG),heart function,myocardial infarction index,serum myocardial enzymes and explored its possible mechanisms from inflammatory,antioxidant and cells *** Sal A can dose-dependently enhanced the heart function of myocardial infarction mice,reduced the heart index,inhibited the myocardial enzyme leakage,showed obvious myocardial protection *** results showed that Sal A can reduce the expression of myocardial inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6,TNF-α.Western blotting confirmed that Sal A can increase the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2,reduce the expression of apoptosis protein Bax,and raise the phosphorylation level of PI3K and *** Sal A have displayed significant protective effect against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction and its mechanism may be related to increasing of PI3K/Akt signal pathway and inhibition of cell apoptosis and inflammatory reaction.

Determination of Chemical Composition of Salvia miltiorrhiza Cultivated in Jizhou

[Objectives] This study aimed to evaluate the quality of Salvia miltiorrhiza cultivated in Jizhou. [Methods] The contents of chemical ingredients( tanshinone ⅡA,tanshinone Ⅰ and salvianolic acid B) in S. miltiorrhiza were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography( HPLC),and the chemical composition of S. miltiorrhiza planted in Jizhou and purchased from market was compared.[Results]The contents of tanshinone ⅡA,tanshinone I and salvianolic acid B in S. miltiorrhiza planted in Jizhou were 0. 014%,0. 421 2%and 3. 018%,respectively,higher than the standards of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia of the 2015 edition. [Conclusions]The chemical composition of S. miltiorrhiza planted in Jizhou meets the standards of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia of the 2015 edition.
