Information flow between the prefrontal and visual cortices is critical for visual behaviors such as visual search. To investigate its mechanisms, we simultaneously recorded spike and local field potential (LFP) signals in the frontal eye field (FEF) and area V4 while monkeys performed a free-gaze visual search task. During free-gaze search, spike-LFP coherence between FEF and V4 was enhanced in the theta rhythm (4–8 Hz) but suppressed in the alpha rhythm (8–13 Hz). Cross-frequency couplings during the Cue period before the search phase were related to monkey performance, with higher FEF theta-V4 gamma coupling and lower FEF alpha-V4 gamma coupling associated with faster search. Finally, feature-based attention during search enhanced spike-LFP coherence between FEF and V4 in the gamma and beta rhythms, whereas overt spatial attention reduced coherence at frequencies up to 30 Hz. These results suggest that oscillatory coupling may play an important role in mediating interactions between the prefrontal and visual cortices during visual search.

This paper presents new synchronization conditions for second-order phase-coupled Kuramoto oscillators in terms of edge *** types of network-underlying graphs are studied,the positively weighted and signed graphs,*** apply an edge Laplacian matrix for a positively weighted network to represent the edge *** properties of the edge Laplacian matrix are analyzed and incorporated into the proposed *** conditions take account of the dynamics of edge-connected oscillators instead of all oscillator pairs in conventional *** a network with positive and negative weights,we represent the network by its spanning tree dynamics,and derive conditions to evaluate the synchronization state of this *** conditions show that if all edge weights in the spanning tree are positive,and the tree-induced dynamics are in a dominant position over the negative edge dynamics,then this network achieves *** theoretical findings are validated by numerical examples.

synchronization and bifurcation analysis in coupled networks of discrete-time systems are investigated in the present paper. We mainly focus on some special coupling matrix, i.e., the sum of each row equals a nonzero constant u and the network connection is directed. A result that the network can reach a new synchronous state, which is not the asymptotic limit set determined by the node state equation, is derived. It is interesting that the network exhibits bifurcation if we regard the constant u as a bifurcation parameter at the synchronous state. Numerical simulations are given to show the efficiency of our derived conclusions.

This article discusses the synchronization problem of singular neutral complex dynamical networks(SNCDN)with distributed delay and Markovian jump parameters via pinning *** control strategies are designed to make the singular neutral complex networks *** delay-dependent synchronization criteria are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities based on a modified Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional *** applying the Lyapunov stability theory,Jensen's inequality,Schur complement,and linear matrix inequality technique,some new delay-dependent conditions are derived to guarantee the stability of the ***,numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

In this paper, we present a review of our recent works on complete synchro-nization analyses of networks of the coupled dynamical systems with time-varying cou-plings. The main approach is composed of algebraic graph theory and dynamic system method. More precisely, the Hajnal diameter of matrix sequence plays a key role in in-vestigating synchronization dynamics and the joint graph across time periods possessing spanning tree is a doorsill for time-varying topologies to reach synchronization. These techniques with proper modification count for diverse models of networks of the cou-pled systems, including discrete-time and continuous-time models, linear and nonlinear models, deterministic and stochastic time-variations. Alternatively, transverse stability analysis of general time-varying dynamic systems can be employed for synchronization study as a special case and proved to be equivalent to Hajnal diameter.

The synchronization of two 3-scroll hyperchaotie attractors is realized based on wavelet transform and single variables＇ feedstock. In the transmitter, one signal is decomposed by wavelet transform and the detailed information is removed, then the component with low frequency is reconstructed and sent into the channel In the receiver, the received signal is used as the feedback signal to realize the synchronization of two chaotic systems. Using this synchronous method, the transmitting signal is transported in compressible way, the system resource is saved, furthermore, because the transported signal is not a whole chaotic signal, the performance of security of the system is improved.
