An impulsive control scheme is proposed to investigate the tracking synchronization of ring and inline networked Lagrangian *** a time-varying target trajectory,some algebraic synchronization criteria are derived to make the networked Lagrangian systems synchronize to the target trajectory.A distinctive feature of the proposed work is that the impulsive control scheme is used to investigate the highly nonlinear Lagrangian *** the impulsive control,each agent described by the Lagrangian system instantaneously interacts with its neighbors only at some discrete ***,the proposed control strategy requires only local coupling feedback for global *** a direct application of the obtained theoretical results,the tracking synchronization of multiple 3-DOF mobile robots is discussed in detail and *** results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

This paper investigates the impact of inter-layer coupling functions and intra-layer coupling delays on intra-layer synchronization regions and sychronizability. It is found that the inter-layer coupling functions have great influence on intra-layer synchronization regions, as well as on the intra-layer synchronizability. In particular, there exists an inter-layer coupling function such that the inter-layer coupling strength neither improves nor weakens the intra-layer synchronizability. Furthermore, no matter which one of three inter-layer coupling functions is chosen, a small intra-layer delay always keeps the intra-layer synchronized regions almost unchanged, implying that the small delay neither enhances nor suppresses the intra-layer synchronizability. At the same time the delay greatly frustrates the synchronizability in each layer when it is greater than some threshold. Our results may have potential applications for interconnected technological networks where communication delays are inevitably present.

In this paper,we investigate the evolution of spatiotemporal patterns and synchronization transitions in dependence on the information transmission delay and ion channel blocking in scale-free neuronal *** the underlying model of neuronal dynamics,we use the Hodgkin-Huxley equations incorporating channel blocking and intrinsic *** is shown that delays play a significant yet subtle role in shaping the dynamics of neuronal *** particular,regions of irregular and regular propagating excitatory fronts related to the synchronization transitions appear intermittently as the delay ***,the fraction of working sodium and potassium ion channels can also have a significant impact on the spatiotemporal dynamics of neuronal *** the fraction of blocked sodium channels increases,the frequency of excitatory events decreases,which in turn manifests as an increase in the neuronal synchrony that,however,is dysfunctional due to the virtual absence of large-amplitude ***,we also show that larger coupling strengths improve synchronization irrespective of the information transmission delay and channel *** presented results are also robust against the variation of the network size,thus providing insights that could facilitate understanding of the joint impact of ion channel blocking and information transmission delay on the spatiotemporal dynamics of neuronal networks.

A visualization of Julia sets of the complex Henon map system with two complex variables is introduced in this paper. With this method, the optimal control function method is introduced to this system and the control and synchronization of its Julia sets are achieved. Control and synchronization of generalized Julia sets are also achieved with this optimal control method. The simulations illustrate the efficacy of this method.

In this paper, some novel sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of impulsive control systems are presented by comparison systems. The results are used to obtain the conditions under which the chaotic systems can be asymptotically controlled to the origin via impulsive control. Compared with some existing results, our results are more relaxed in the sense that the Lyapunov function is required to be nonincreasing only along a subsequence of switchings. Moreover, a larger upper bound of impulsive intervals for stabilization and synchronization is obtained.

This paper studies pinning-controlled synchronization of complex networks with bounded or unbounded synchronized regions. To study a state-feedback pinning-controlled network with N nodes, it first converts the controlled network to an extended network of N＋1 nodes without controls. It is shown that the controlled synchronizability of the given network is determined by the real part of the smallest nonzero eigenvalue of the coupling matrix of its extended network when the synchronized region is unbounded; but it is determined by the ratio of the real parts of the largest and the smallest nonzero eigenvalues of the coupling matrix when the synchronized region is bounded. Both theoretical analysis and numerical simulation show that the portion of controlled nodes has no critical values when the synchronized region is unbounded, but it has a critical value when the synchronized region is bounded. In the former case, therefore, it is possible to control the network to achieve synchronization by pinning only one node. In the latter case, the network can achieve controlled synchronization only when the portion of controlled nodes is larger than the critical value.

It is well known that the strong coupling can synchronize a network of nonlinear oscillators. synchronization provides the basis of the remarkable computational performance of the brain. In this paper the FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron network is constructed. The dependence of the synchronization on the coupling strength, the noise intensity and the size of the neuron network has been discussed. The results indicate that the coupling among neurons works to improve the synchronization, and noise increases the neuron random dynamics and the local fluctuations; the larger the size of network, the worse the synchronization. The dependence of the synchronization on the strength of the electric synapse coupling and chemical synapse coupling has also been discussed, which proves that electric synapse coupling can enhance the synchronization of the neuron network largely.
