To improve the limitation of applying traditional fault diagnosis method to the diagnosis of multi-concurrent vibrant faults for aeroengine in aircraft,a novel approach combining the wavelet transform with self-organizing learning array system is *** effective eigenvectors are acquired by binary discrete orthonormal wavelet transform based on multi-resolution *** feature vectors then are applied to the system for training and *** proposed system has three advanta-geous over a typical neural network:data driven learning,local interconnections and entropy based *** synthesized method of recursive orthogonal least squares algorithm and improved Givens rotation is used to fulfill the combined network structure and parameter *** means of choosing enough practical samples to verify the proposed network performance and the information representing the faults is inputted into the trained network,and according to the output result the type of fault can be *** results and actual applications show that the method can effectively diagnose and analyze the multi-concurrent vibrant fault patterns of aeroengine and the diagnosis result is correct.

Due to the complicated structure of most rotating machines, and the high dimension and strong correlation of process variables, this paper presents a multiple fault classification method of rotating machine based on Principal Component Analysis（PCA） and K Nearest Neighbor（KNN）. Firstly, the dimensionality reduction model is established by using the normal historical data, which ensures a small memory footprint and computational consumption in fault classification. After combining different fault types data of rotating machine, PCA model is used to project them to low-dimension space. The KNN function is adopted to classify the training data after dimensionality reduction. The alternative data is utilized for online monitoring simulation by using SPE（Square Prediction Error） and T2 statistic, and then KNN training model is used to identify fault types from the abnormal data. The experiment result shows that the proposed method is accurate and effective in multiple faults identification.

The Advantages of Using rotating machines with Profiled Rotors

In order to achieve a lower consumed energy, the performance of a new type of rotating volumetric pump with two profiled rotors (variant I) which is compared with a centrifugal pump (variant II) is presented. The analysis regarding the same flow rate of transported liquid and the same pressure increases points out the conduct of the system at the variation of the key operating parameters. The actual driving power of the rotating volumetric pump is higher stating that is more advantageous in operation. The effective efficiency of the system is improved due to the original constructive solution.

A laser shaft alignment system with dual PSDs

Shaft alignment is an important technique during installation and maintenance of a rotating machine. A high-precision laser alignment system has been designed with dual PSDs (Position Sensing Detector) to change traditional manual way of shaft alignment and to make the measurement easier and more accurate. The system is comprised of two small measuring units (laser transmitter and detector) and a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) with measurement software. The laser alignment system with dual PSDs was improved on a single PSD system, and yields higher measurement accuracy than the previous design, and has been successful for designing and implements actual shaft alignment. In the system, the range of offset measurement is ±4 mm, and the resolution is 1.5 μm, with accuracy being less than 2 μm.

Degradation of PAI/PEI Enamel under High Temperature (Up to 400°C)

This work deals with the understanding of the degradation of the primary insulation (PEI/PAI) of rotating machines working temporarily under high-temperature. The main domain of application of these motors is the smoke extraction either from tunnels or underground parking when a fire occurs. In such a critical situation, the internal temperature of the motor winding may reach temperatures up to 400°C. Under such very high thermal stresses, the behaviour of the electrical insulation is not well understood. This work proposes an analysis of the decomposition gases under very high temperatures and the corresponding degradation pathway. A simple method is proposed to identify whether the insulation of such motors has been strongly damaged during the working time at very high temperatures, thus allowing estimating if it can still continue to operate.
