＜正＞Endophytic fungi-grass symbiotum base on either endophyte can synthesize or induce the host plant to produce various kinds of secondary metabolites（De Battista ＆ Bacon 1990）. These secondary metabolites,such as alkaloids and plant hormones usually benefit to plant survival,growth and *** detected IAA concentrations of culture filtrates,cell free macerates of Neotyphodium sincium EHA-1 by ELISA and HPLC,and report here that indole-3-acetic acid（IAA） accumulation in culture *** EHA-1 synthesizing IAA even no tryptophan（Trp）,precursor of IAA was added exogenously into the culture（Ji 2002）. These indicated this isolate can produce plant hormone de *** Trp presence conditions, highest concentration of 47.08 mg/g dry mycelium was recorded in IAA production *** IAA was extracted from aerial tissue of roegneria kamoji EI and EF plants and analyzed by HPLC,higher concentration of IAA was detected in EI plants comparing with that of EF plants. This phenomenon was recognized on plants in period of heading stage and flowering stage *** suggested that IAA biosynthesis in fungal cells may have a certain contribution in total IAA level within Chinese roegneria-Neotyphodium symbiotum.

＜正＞Epichloae endophytes including Neotyphodium *** Epichloe *** highly host specific fungal symbionts（endophytes） of cool-season *** most cases,they systemically infect and colonize in all aerial parts of host *** these 2 endophyte species had recorded in roegneria kamoji（Ohwi） Kent et Chen, their biological functions are still *** a sexual fungal endophyte involved in the host,the influences of stroma development of Epichloe yangzii Li et Wang to morphological properties of the host was focused in present study. Fungal endophytes infected *** plants including stromatal producing and stromatal nonproducing plants were collected in a particular site located in Jiangpu,Nanjing,*** of *** appeared white,cereous,smooth and wet at first in early April,then turned to yellow,dry and rough within about 7 to 8 wk, collapsed and became white or gray at last in late *** procedures of hyphae staining,fungal isolation,fungal identification and plant measurement,differences between stromatal plants and non-stromatal plants on tillering and heading of the plants,thickness and length of the culms,numbers,length and senescence of the leaves were investigated *** indicated that all endophyte strains from both stromatal and non-stromatal plants were ***,all symbiota investigated in this study should be ***/*** complexes. TILLER NUMBERS of stromatal plants and non-stromatal plants were 59.8±4.3 and 41.5±*** PERCENTAGES,CULM THICKNESS,CULM LENGTHS,LEAF NUMBERS,LEAF SENESCENCE PERCENTAGE of stromatal culm on stromatal plant（SS culm）,non-stromatal culm on stromatal plant（NS culm） and non-stromatal culm on non-stromatal plant（NN culm） were 0,100%and 99.15%;2.0±0.4,2.1±0.4 and 2.7±0.4 mm;303.8±90.4,608.3.9±166.6 and 933.2±92.0 mm;6,6 and 6;48.3%,41.7%and 71.7%respectively. ＜正＞Epichloe species occasionally develop stromata on the specific position of the culms of the host plants, and produce large amounts of asci,ascospores and mass of hyphae on the stromata *** yangzii Li et Wang involved within roegneria kamoji plants distributes widely in east China,especially the middle and lower basin of Yangtze *** now it is the only sexual stroma-producing endophyte found within roegneria spp., the mode of the horizontal transmission of this sexual endophyte is still *** our careful observations during field works,some new stromata-associating insects were observed on ***-infected R. kamoji *** the surfaces of stromata produced by *** or stromata-producing roegneria plants in Nanjing,many insects belonging to Anthicidae,Aphididae,Coccinellidae and Formicidae were recognized in the ***,3 insects of Anthicidae were found to bite either immature（white） or mature（yellow） stromata from 3 *** plants in Baotashan,Zijinshan and Hongshan respectively;26 nibbled stromatal tillers were observed from 76 stromatal tillers of 11 *** plants in these 3 *** indicated that these insects, especially Anthicidae insects fed on the stromata,may play important roles in the transmission of ***. Presently,endophyte survival on/in and re-isolation from these insects are in the *** is considered to be horizontally transmitted and hybridize among stromatal roegneria plants,and also considered to be horizontally transmitted to un-infected roegneria ***,the mechanism of this horizontal transmission is still *** Europe,Botanophila flies were confirmed to be transmission vectors of Epichloe species.
