The variable structure controller design for a class of nonlinear uncertain systems based on robust observer

The variable structure controller is designed for a class of nonlinear uncertain time-delay system by using robust observer, and incorporating H-infinity control technique, the controller can guarantee the H-infinity performance of sliding mode dynamics and satisfy the reaching condition, which also does not require uncertainties to satisfy matching condition and linear boundary condition. The simulation example is given to illustrate the method.

A disturbance estimation approach is presented for a class of nonlinear systems by incorporating two-layer structure. The multiple-disturbances concerned are supposed to include two parts. One is generated by an exogenous system, which can represent the single-sinusoidal signal with unknown frequency. The other part is norm bounded uncertain disturbance. The special auxiliary observer represent the exogenous modeled disturbance in a parametric uncertainty form where the unknown parameter can be reduced to a scalar. Another observer is thus constructed to estimate the equivalent sinusoidal disturbance,meanwhile the robust performance against the bounded signal is guaranteed. Simulations demonstrate the advantages of the proposed scheme.

With an increasing demand for higher performance, more safety and reliability of dynamic systems, fault diagnosis has received more and more research interests in recent years. In this paper, a slight improvement on algorithm of robust observer is proposed first. Using an instance of the 3-tank system, the robust performance of robust observer is discussed. Then, by applying neural network on choosing of threshold, the adaptability of observer is improved.

Optimal control for high performance might lack robustness in practice. And the mixed H2/H∞ control design can offer both high performance and robust stability, but meets difficulties in coupled Riccati equations and the conservativeness of the Lyapunov matrix. This paper proposed an optimal tracking design with robust observer optimization by dividing performance requirements and robust stability into two parts. Optimal state feedback with an integrator is firstly designed by minimizing H2 norm of nominal system, then the observer is used to enhance robustness of closed-loop perturbed systems with H∞ optimization. The robust observer is shown to be equivalent to a reduced dimension state feedback problem described with BMI, then obtained by two LMIs converted from the bounded real lemma. An example of physical system shows effectiveness of optimal tracking design with robust observer.

Tandem-cold-mills is a complex multivariable process in which the thickness,hardness and crown of the strip can usually not be measured due to the measure meters out of function and the hostile *** paper proposed a novel multivariable observer which is robustly stable for changes to the mill modulus while still providing high observed states *** performance and stability of the multivariable observer are analyzed and the benefit of the multivariable observer is demonstrated using a simulation and paved the way to the production of an advanced multivariable controller.

This paper deals with the problem of fault diagnosis problem for a class of linear systems with delayed state and uncertainty. The systems are transformed into two different subsystems. One is not affected by actuator faults so that a robust observer can be designed under certain conditions. The other whose states can be measured is affected by the faults. The proposed observer is utilized in an analytical-redundancy-based approach for actuator and sensor fault detection and diagnosis in time-delay systems. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through numerical examples.

This paper is devoted to design of observer for a class of Lipschitz nonlinear state delay systems with, or without parameter uncertainty. The nonlinearities are assumed to appear in both state and measured output equations. For both the cases with and without norm-bounded time-varying parameter uncertainties, a design method is proposed, in which linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） are solved. When certain LMIs are satisfied, the explicit expression of a desired nonlinear observer is presented. A numerical example and the simulating results are provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

This paper deals with the problem of unknown system state and the effect of steady-state error for multi-motor drive systems. Due to the existence of unknown nonlinearity, a robust observer with neural network is proposed to estimate the system state. To improve the steady-state performance, the integrator is introduced in the controller design to eliminate the steady-state error and get rid of the vibration. Based on mean relative coupling structure and dynamic surface control, a synchronization control method and tracking control scheme are proposed with integrator. The effectiveness of designed control methods is illustrated by simulation results.
