The stability and bifurcation of the trivial solution in the two_dimensional differential equation of a model describing human Respiratory system with time delay were investigated. Formulas about the stability of bifurcating periodic solution and the direction of Hopf bifurcation were exhibited by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem.Furthermore,numerical simulation was carried out.

LOCAL AND GLOBAL HOPF BIFURCATIONS IN A DELAYED HUMAN Respiratory system

This paper considers a delayed human respiratory model. Firstly, the stability of the equilibrium of the model is investigated and the occurrence of a sequence of Hopf bifurcations of the model is proved. Secondly, the explicit algorithms which determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived by applying the normal form method and the center manifold theory. Finally, the existence of the global periodic solutions is showed under some assumptions on the model.

Fine particulate matter and cardiorespiratory health in China:A systematic review and meta-analysis of epidemiological studies

This review aimed to systematically summarize the epidemiological literature on the cardiorespiratory effects of PM_(2.5)published during the 13^(th) Five-Year Plan period(2016-2020)in China.Original articles published between January 1,2016 and June 30,2021 were searched in PubMed,Web of Science,the China National Knowledge Internet Database and Wanfang Database.Random-or fixed-effects models were used to pool effect estimates where appropriate.Of 8558 records identified,145 met the full eligibility criteria.A 10μg/m^(3) increase in short-term PM_(2.5)exposure was significantly associated with increases of 0.70%,0.86%,0.38%and 0.96%in cardiovascular mortality,respiratory mortality,cardiovascular morbidity,and respiratory morbidity,respectively.The specific diseases with significant associations included stroke,ischemic heart disease,heart failure,arrhythmia,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,pneumonia and allergic rhinitis.The pooled estimates per 10μg/m^(3) increase in long-term PM_(2.5)exposure were 15.1%,11.9%and 21.0%increases in cardiovascular,stroke and lung cancer mortality,and 17.4%,11.0%and 4.88%increases in cardiovascular,hypertension and lung cancer incidence respectively.Adverse changes in blood pressure,heart rate variability,systemic infiammation,blood lipids,lung function and airway infiammation were observed for either short-term or long-term PM_(2.5)exposure,or both.Collectively,we summarized representative exposure-response relationships between short-and long-term PM_(2.5)exposure and a wide range of cardiorespiratory outcomes applicable to China.The magnitudes of estimates were generally smaller in short-term associations and comparable in long-term associations compared with those in developed countries.Ourfindings are helpful for future standard revisions and policy formulation.There are still some notable gaps that merit further investigation in China.

Molecular methods for detection of pathogenic viruses of respiratory tract——A review

Human Respiratory system is harbored by a vast array of transient and normal microbial flora.A number of pathogenic viruses were diagnosed from samples in different occasions from mild to severe infections of respiratory tract.Molecular methods were developed for detection of these viruses during last two decades.Nucleic acid amplification methods were introduced for rapid and accurate diagnosis of pathogenic viruses.Multiplex detection systems were employed to identify a panel of pathogenic viruses,which requires specialized kits and instruments in some cases.This review summarizes different types of molecular approaches which were developed with time and applied for the detection of pathogenic viruses associated with infections of the Respiratory system.

Since the fi rst cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coro-navirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)were reported at the end of 2019,this infection has spread around the globe,becoming a pandemic.The use of face masks and respirators is an important public health measure to reduce or prevent transmission of SARS-CoV-2.Here we discuss the hypothetical mechanisms by which exercise with face masks or respirators can induce detrimental effects on the cardiovascular system,potentially explaining adverse events such as cardiac arrhythmias and spontaneous pneumothorax.Although sudden death associated with the wearing of a face mask during running is a rare event,the risk is higher especially in those with existing cardiac comorbidities.In such cases,a mask designed specifi cally for runners with no or few side effects of oxygen defi ciency should be considered instead.

The Effect of Gas Smelling among Fuel Stations Employees in Qassim Region

Benzene is a carcinogenic compound used in industrial manufacturing. Benzene exposure is associated with a multiplicity of clinical conditions ranging from hematologic diseases to chronic lung disorders. Respiratory system is affected more than the other system because the benzene is highly volatile and inhaled deeply into respiratory airway reaching the alveoli where gas exchange takes place. This study aims to show the effect of benzene on Respiratory system of fuel station employees and its role in causing respiratory problems. The design of the study is an experimental study to evaluate the effect of benzene inhalation on the lung tissue by detecting cytological change among Fuel stations employees in Qassim region. The sputum sample was obtained from male stations employees in Qassim region and stained with Papanicolaou stain. The fuel station employees were suffering from dyspnea, nasal irritation and sore throat. In total 15 sputum samples collected are subdivided into three groups: group number one is those not exposed to benzene;the second group is exposed for 2 - 4 years. However, group number three is exposed for more than 4 years. Long-term exposure to benzene leads to cytological change and reduces immunity that is indicated by the present of neutrophil cells (pus) and other inflammatory features.
