Genetic information flows from DNA to protein through RNA in the central *** RNA species are known to accomplish essential tasks of protein encoding(mRNAs),amino acid loading(tRNAs),and translation machinery assembly(rRNAs).However,on top of these well-known roles,RNAs are central to various cellular regulatory *** we summarize newly emerging regulatory functions of RNA,specifically focusing on regulations through RNA modifications,RNP granules,and chromatin-associated regulatory *** addition to being an essential building block of the central dogma,RNA can be critical to the regulation of many cellular processes.

A Profile of Native Integration Sites Used by φC31 Integrase in the Bovine Genome

The Streptomyces phage φC31 integrase can efficiently target attB-bearing transgenes to endogenous pseudo attP sites within mammalian genomes. To better understand the activity of φC31 integrase in the bovine genome, DNA sequences of 44 integration events were analyzed, and 32 pseudo attP sites were identified. The majority of these sites share a sequence motif that contains inverted repeats and has similarities to wild-type attP site. Genomic DNA flanking these sites typically contained repetitive sequence elements, such as short and long interspersed repetitive elements. These sequence features indicate that DNA sequence recognition plays an important role in guiding φC31-mediated site-specific integration. In addition, BF27 integration hotspot sites were identified in the bovine genome, which accounted for 13.6% of all isolated integration events and mapped to an intron of the deleted in liver cancer 1 （DLC1） gene. Also we found that the pseudo attP sites in the bovine genome had other features in common with those in the human genome. This study represents the first time that the sequence features of pseudo attP sites specific integrase system has great potential for applied modifications in the bovine genome were analyzed. Retrotransposons,jumping genetic elements that are amplified via RNA intermediates and randomly integrated in the genome,have been proved to be a superior strategy in resolving complicated *** repeat 1(CR1),a member of non-LTR retrotransposon,is an important phylogenetic marker in avain *** Sichuan Partridge,Arborophila rufipectus belongs to Phasianidae family,is listed as the endangered species and the first-class protected animal in *** to their restrict distributions of *** in the southwest of China,very little background information has been known related to its evolutionary history and phylogenetic relationship to other Phasianidae *** the present study,we assembled a draft genome sequence of *** based on pair-end short sequence reads and reported for the first time the primary characteristics of repetitive elements in the *** 254 966 CR1 transposable elements were identified by the software Repeat Masker,covering 6.7% of the *** ***,a comparative analysis revealed that roughly 11.50% of the Sichuan Partridge genome consisted of repetitive sequences,which were similar to that in the chicken genome and higher than in zebra ***,a common feature of ***,chicken and zebra finch repetitive elements is a high fraction of CR1 repeats with respect to the total repeat ***,eighteen novel loci CR1 elements were selected randomly by comparison of the chicken,turkey genome and the assembled *** scaffolds to investigate their applications in Phasianidae phylogeny ***,a dataset comprising of twenty two CR1 loci,mitochondrial genomes and four unlinked nuclear segments was analyzed to infer the evolutionary relationships of twelve phasianidae *** results indicated *** is a sister clade to ***/*** with great support values,and genus Arborophila is in a basal phylogenetic position within Ph
