A research is conducted on the relationship between the normal reference value of 20,475 examples of hemoglobin of young women and five geographical factors in 208 areas in China, the normal reference value is determined by the hemoglobincyanide method. It is found that the correlation of geographical factors and the normal reference value of hemoglobin of young women are quite significant (F=142.81). By using the method of multiple linear regression analysis, one regression equation is inferred. If geographical values are obtained in some areas, the normal reference value of hemoglobin of young women of this area can be reckoned by using the regression equation. Furthermore, depending on the geographical factors, China can be divided into six regions: Qinghai-Tibet (Qingzang) Plateau, Southwest, Northwest, Southeast, North and Northeast China.

Background Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity （baPWV） is a reliable method for measuring arterial elasticity, but the absence of reference value for baPWV has limited its wide use. We conducted an epidemical study in north China to investigate the reference value of baPWV for Chinese people and its influential factors. Methods A total of 974 identified healthy subjects were recruited in this study. The values of baPWV were evaluated noninvasively with an automatic device. Results For healthy population, the mean value of baPWV was higher for male （P 〈0.001）. Multiple regression analysis demonstrated that both age and systolic blood pressure were positively associated with baPWV for male and female （P 〈0.001）. BaPWV value was higher in male than in female in younger group （〈50 years） but not in older group （P〈-0.001）. The upper limits of baPWV were 1394/1264 cm/s, 1435/1361 cm/s, 1552/1433 cm/s, 1597/1609 cm/s and 1798/1915 cm/s for healthy male/female at 10 years interval （age range 20-70 years）. Conclusions Aging is the most important reason of arterial stiffness, but the effect of age on baPWV augmentation is greater for healthy female than their male counterpart. The reference values of baPWV by sex and age are very useful for clinical and preventive medicine.

Age-specific reference ranges of prostatespecific antigen in the elderly of Amirkola: A population-based study

Introduction A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Shanghai,in eastern China to evaluate the prevalence of sarcopenia in Chinese men and women and compare the results to the prevalence of other *** also analysed the differences in sarcopenia between men and women,and assessed the effect of lean mass and fat mass of different regions on bone mass. Methods Total of 1766 men and 1778 women aged 18 to 96 years participated in this *** mineral density of spine,femur,and lean mass,fat mass of several body region were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA).Class 1 and class 2 sarcopenia were defined as the ALM index(appendicular lean mass/ height2) 1 and 2 SD below the sex-specific means for young adults. Results Mean values for ALM index were 7.93 kg/m2 and 6.04 kg/m2 for men and women aged 18 to 40 *** reference values for classes 1 and 2 sarcopenia were 7.01 kg/m2 and 6.08 kg/m2 in men and 5.42 kg/ m2 and 4.79 kg/m2 in *** prevalence of sarcopenia was 4.8%in women and 13.2%in men aged 70 years and older,which is lower than that of Caucasian populations,but the same as that of Japanese and Korean in Asia. Men demonstrated greater declines in muscle mass with aging than women partly due to the protective effect of fat mass on lean mass in *** lean mass was the strongest factor on femur bone mass,however,trunk lean mass was the strongest factor on spine bone mass. Conclusions Maintaining a healthy weight is important for the elderly in order to avoid osteoporosis and sarcopenia.

Objective:To determine the age-specific reference ranges of prostate-specific antigen(PSA)in the older men in the city of ***:This cross-sectional study is a part of Amirkola Health and Ageing Project(AHAP)which has been conducted as a cohort study since 2011 in Amirkola,a city in northern *** demographic information of all men aged 60 and older were collected through questionnaires and interviews and the PSA measurements were performed using ELISA and Diametra *** acquired data were analyzed ***:A number of 837 elderly men with a mean age of 69.99±7.72 years participated in this *** serum PSA level(95th percentile)was determined to be 0.9(0-4.89)ng/mL in the age group of 60-64 years,1.1(0-4.88)ng/mL in the age group of 65-69 years,0.93(0-9.01)ng/mL in the age group of 70-74 years,1.3(0-7.95)ng/mL in the age group of 75-79 years,1.9(0-11.98 ng/mL)in the age group of 80-84 years,and 1.45(0-33.17)ng/mL in the 85 and older *** serum PSA level was significantly correlated with age(p=0.000).Conclusion:This study indicated that there is a direct correlation between the age and serum PSA *** use of age-specific reference range could guide clinicians on the incidence of prostate cancer in this population and perhaps reduce the number of unnecessary tests in this population group.

BACKGROUND ： It is very important to find out the focal sites for the early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, especially the discovery of tiny or potential focal site, so that multiple sclerosis can be diagnosed at the early period （the first attack） or when the focus has not displayed completely, and the evoked potential can discover the abnormality of the pathway between spinal cord to cerebral cortex. OBJECTIVE： To observe the values of motor evoked potential （MEP）, somatosensory evoked potential （SEP） and evoked-related potential （P300） in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. DESIGN： A case-controlledstudy SETTING： Neuroelectrophysiological Center of Guizhou Provincial People＇s Hospita PARTICIPANTS ： Twenty-five outpatients or inpatients with multiple sclerosis were selected from the Department of Neurology, Guizhou Provincial People＇s Hospital from October 2001 to March 2005. The patients were diagnosed according to the diagnostic standards of multiple sclerosis suggested by Poser et al in 1983 and MRI examination. There were 17 males and 8 females, aged 18-65 years old with an average of 39 years, and their disease courses ranged from 6 months to 5 years. Meanwhile, 30 healthy physical examinees were selected in our hospital as the control group, and they all had no abnormality by detailed inquisition, physical examination and examination of nervous system, including 15 males and 5 females, aged 20-66 years old. All the enrolled subjects were informed and agreed with the detections. METHODS ：（1） The MEP, SEP and P300 were detected with synergy evoked potential equipment （Oxford Instruments, UK） in all the 25 patients with multiple sclerosis and 20 healthy subjects. （2） Standards for judging the abnormalities of evoked potentials： The abnormalities referred to deletion of wave form or the latency was prolonged by more than the reference value of normal subject±3SD. （3） The differences of measurement data were compared with the ttest.MAIN OUTCOME MEA

BACKGROUND： The early correct diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction （ACI） is very important for choosing therapeutic regimen. The classification of Oxfordshire community stroke project （OCSP） provides guide for easy and rapid diagnosis and choosing therapeutic regimen in clinical practice. But current operation is not satisfied. Only depending on clinical symptoms and body signs do objective evidences lack. Transcranial Doppler ultrasound （TCD） examination may provide hemodynamical evidences for the correct classification of OCSP to some extent. OBJECTIVE： To compare the results of OCSP classification and TCD examination for treating ACI in patients and analyze the relationship between them as well as the effect of TCD on the correct classification of OCSP. DESIGN ： Controlled observation.SETTING： Department of Internal Medicine, Shenzhen Hospital of Prevention and Treatment for Occupationa Disease. PARTICIPANTS： Thirty-eight inpatients with ACI including 21 males and 17 females, aged 50 to 81 years, who received treatment in the Department of Internal Medicine, Shenzhen Hospital of Prevention and Treatment for Occupational Disease within 24 hours after onset from October 2002 to October 2005 were involved. The involved inpatients all confirmed to the diagnostic criteria of ACI formulated in the 4^th National Cerebrovascular Diseases Conference. All the cases received skull computer tomography （CT） or magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） examinations at 24 hours after onset. Those patients who had no obvious infarct focus in skull CT examination within 24 hours after onset were performed re-examination to verify ACI within 72 hours after onset. Informed consents of examination method were obtained from all the patients. The lack of synergy between infrastructure financing mechanisms and mechanisms for combating climate change does not favor the definition of sustainable infrastructure in Cameroon. The definition of a sustainable infrastructure could meet the requirements of these mechanisms, thanks to the control of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions during its installation, in relation to a predefined value. However, the promotion of efforts to reduce emissions from new infrastructures is not subject to a local market. This situation is a limit in the implementation of the policies defined in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). This article proposes a framework for promoting reduction efforts for a national carbon market, in favor of hydroelectric infrastructures. Thanks to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) environmental assessment tool, we are going to determine the carbon quota for a specific power. The study carried out on the hydroelectric power station of Mekin (HydroMekin) leads us to a reduction effort of 68.2% compared to the threshold defined at 14.057 gCO2eq/kWhe. The framework, developed, contributes to defining the environmental parameters in the decarbonation strategy during the implementation of new hydroelectric infrastructures and the market carbon design elements special to the construction phase of these infrastructures.
