Miniaturization of optical spectrometers is important to enable spectroscopic analysis to play a role in in situ,or even in vitro and in vivo characterization ***,scaled-down spectrometers generally exhibit a strong trade-off between spectral resolution and operating bandwidth,and are often engineered to identify signature spectral peaks only for specific *** this paper,we propose and demonstrate a novel global sampling strategy with distributed filters for generating ultra-broadband pseudo-random spectral *** geometry of all-pass ring filters is tailored to ensure small self-and cross-correlation for effective information acquisition across the whole spectrum,which dramatically reduces the requirement on sampling *** employ the power of reconfigurable photonics in spectrum shaping by embedding the engineered distributed *** a moderate mesh of MZls,we create 256 diverse spectral responses on a single chip and demonstrate a resolution of 20 pm for single spectral lines and 30 pm for dual spectral lines over a broad bandwidth of 115 nm,to the best of our knowledge achieving a new record of bandwidth-to-resolution *** simulations reveal that this design will readily be able to achieve single-picometer-scale *** further show that the reconfigurable photonics provides an extra degree of programmability,enabling user-defined features on resolution,computation complexity,and relative *** use of SiN integration platform enables the spectrometer to exhibit excellent thermal stability of±2.0℃,effectively tackling the challenge of temperature variations at picometer-scale resolutions.

This paper presents a 4th-order reconfigurable analog baseband filter for software-defined *** design exploits an active-RC low pass filter（LPF） structure with digital assistant,which is flexible for tunability of filter characteristics,such as cut-off frequency,selectivity,type,noise,gain and power.A novel reconfigurable operational amplifier is proposed to realize the optimization of noise and scalability of power *** chip was fabricated in an SMIC 0.13μm CMOS *** main filter and frequency calibration circuit occupy 1.8×0.8 mm;and 0.48×0.25 mm;areas,*** measurement results indicate that the filter provides Butterworth and Chebyshev responses with a wide frequency tuning range from 280 kHz to 15 MHz and a gain range from 0 to 18 *** IIP3 of 29 dBm is achieved under a 1.2 V power *** input inferred noise density varies from 41 to 133 nV/（Hz）;according to a given standard,and the power consumptions are 5.46 mW for low band（from 280 kHz to 3 MHz） and 8.74 mW for high band（from 3 to 15 MHz） mode.

A PLL clock generator with reconfigurable multi-functions for FPGA design applications is presented. This clock generator has two configurable operation modes to achieve clock multiplication and phase alignment functions,*** output clock signal has advanced clock shift ability such that the phase shift and duty cycle are *** order to further improve the accuracy of phase alignment and phase shift,a VCO design based on a novel quick start-up technique is proposed.A new delay partition method is also adopted to improve the speed of the post-scale counter,which is used to realize the programmable phase shift and duty cycle.A prototype chip implemented in a 0.13-μm CMOS process achieves a wide tuning range from 270 MHz to 1.5 *** power consumption and the measured RMS jitter at 1 GHz are less than 18 mW and 9 ps,*** settling time is approximately 2μs.

We developed a reconfigurable nuclear instrument system （RNIS） that could satisfy the requirements of diverse nuclear and particle physics experiments, and the inertial confinement fusion diagnostic. Benefiting from the reconfigurable hardware structure and digital pulse processing technology RNIS shakes off the restrictions of cumbersome crates and miscellaneous modules. It retains all the advantages of conventional nuclear instruments and is more flexible and portable. RNIS is primarily composed of a field programmable hardware board and relevant t）C software. Separate analog channels are designed to provide different functions, such as am- plifiers, ADC, fast discriminators and Schmitt discriminators for diverse experimental purposes. The high-perfornmnce field programnmble gate array could complete high-precision time interval measurement, histogram accumulation, counting, and coincidence anticoincidence measurement. To illustrate tile prospects of RNIS, a series of applications to the experiments are described in this paper. The first, for which RNIS was originally developed, involves nuclear energy spectrum mea- surement with a scintillation detector and photonmltiplier. The second experiment applies RNIS to a G-M tube counting experiment, and in tile third, it is applied to a quantum comnnmication experiment tllrough reconfiguration.

In this paper, we propose a reconfigurable packet processing hardware architecture for future switch,in which several protocol-independent action units are introduced to remove the protocol dependence of conventional packet processors. With the proposed architecture,any specified header fields can be mapped into the right action unit, so that the processor can meet any packet processing demands. To reduce the hardware resource cost,the processor cost model and optimization algorithm are proposed. The Net FPGA-based implementation shows a throughput of 94 Gb/s with 64-B packets. The programmability cost is approximately 1.5 times of conventional design, which consumes only 8% of the total FPGA resources.

A sigma-delta （∑A） DAC with channel filtering for multi-standard wireless transmitters used in the software-defined-radio （SDR） system is presented. The conversion frequency, transfer function of the digital filter and the ∑A modulator, word-length of the IDAC and cut-off frequency of the analog reconstruction filter can be digitally programmed to satisfy specifications of WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and GSM standards. The ∑A DAC fabricated in SMIC 0.13μm CMOS process occupies a die area of 0.72 mm2, while consuming 5.52/4.82/3.04 mW in WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/GSM mode from a single 1.2-V supply voltage. The measured SFDR is 62.8/60.1/ 75.5 dB for WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/GSM mode, respectively.

In this paper, we present a self-adaptive programming mechanism(SAP) that targets programming hardware devices of reconfigurable parsing and processing. The SAP programming system locates in software of network data plane and has three features:(1) programmable packet parsing: the packet header format can be customized and new header type can be added;(2) reconfigurable packet processing: the match fields to be handled in each match table can be specified;(3) function-adaptive control: any function control systems can determine the packet processing flow independently without the need of knowing the specifics of the underlying hardware. Finally, we implement a prototype on NetF PGA-10 G together with two representative function control systems(router and Open Flow switch) to demonstrate how SAP works. We believe the data plane of reconfigurable parsing and processing will lead to future switches that provide greater flexibility, and unlock the potential of network function innovation.

Considering the rapid progress of theory,design,fabrication and applications,metasurfaces(MTSs)have become a new research frontier in microwave,terahertz and optical *** metasurfaces(R-MTSs)can dynamically modulate electromagnetic(EM)waves with unparalleled flexibility,which has led to a great surge of research in recent *** R-MTSs with powerful capabilities and various functions are being proposed *** on the five dimensions of EM waves,this review proposes a unified model to describe the interactions among R-MTSs,EM waves and EM information and suggests an information bit allocation strategy to categorize different types of R-MTSs *** advances in R-MTSs and 1-bit and 2-bit elements manipulating different wave dimensions are reviewed in ***,this review discusses the future research trends of R-MTSs.R-MTSs with diverse dimensions and functions may propel the next generation of communication,detection,sensing,imaging and computing applications.
