Type-Ⅱ heterostructure CdTe/CdSe core/shell nanocrystals(quantum dots, QDs) are explored as sensitizers in a quantum dot-sensitized photoelectrochemical solar cell. These QDs comprise of a hole-localizing core and an electron-localizing shell. Among their advantages is the significant red-shift of the absorption edge of the heterostructured QD relative to its two constituents due to spatially indirect absorption leading to improved absorption characteristics, intraparticle exciton dissociation upon photoexcitation, and a relatively small content of the less abundant Tellurium element. Upon incorporation in a sensitized solar cell utilizing a porous TiO and a polysulfide electrolyte these QDs exhibited efficient charge separation and high internal quantum efficiency despite hole localization in the Cd Te core. Monochromatic incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency(IPCE) measurement shows a spectrally broad photoresponse spanning the whole visible spectrum and reaching up to about 900 nm.

Material crystallinity is the overriding factor in the determination of the photoelectric properties of absorber materials and the overall performance of photovoltaic device.Nevertheless,in Cu2 Zn Sn(S,Se)4(CZTSSe) photovoltaic device the bilayer or tri-layer structure for the absorber have been broadly observed,which are generally harmful to the cell performance due to the probability of photogenerated carrier recombination at grain boundaries significantly increased.1-4 Herein,our experiment reveals that application of anions to a new family of(Cu,Ag)2 Zn Sn(S,Se)4(CAZTSSe) materials leads to the increase of grain size and crystallinity.It is inspiring that by using acetate starting materials in precursor solution,a uniform,compact and pinhole-free CAZTS precursor film was obtained,and the smoothness of the films surpassed that of films fabricated from oxide route.More importantly,the crystallization of the CAZTSSe film has been considerably enhanced after selenization,large grains go through the entire absorber layer was successfully obtained.Additionally,it is observed that the Voc accompanied by excellent crystallinity improved significantly due to the pronouncedly reduced carrier recombination loss at grain boundaries.As a consequence,the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of the CAZTSSe photovoltaic device is successfully increased from 10.35%(oxide route) to 11.32%(acetate route).Importantly,our work attest to the feasibility of tuning the crystallization of the CZTSSe film by simple chemistry.

To improve the power conversion efficiency(PCE) and stability of inverted perovskite solar cells(PSCs) prepared in humid air(RH=55%),a new zinc oxide(ZnO):TIPD composite film is inserted between PCBM layer and Ag electrode for the first time.Compared to the single PCBM layer,the formed PCBM/ZnO:TIPD electron transport layer(ETL) has better coverage on the perovskite layer and more effective charge extraction ability from the perovskite layer.The insertion of ZnO:TIPD film effectively suppress the charge recombination at perovskite/ETL interface.Besides,the PCBM/ZnO:TIPD layer has better ability to prevent moisture from penetrating into the perovskite layer than single PCBM film.For these reasons,the PCE and stability of the PSCs with the PCBM/ZnO:TIPD are significantly improved compared to the PSCs with single PCBM(or ZnO:TIPD) layer.The highest efficiency of the cell with PCBM/ZnO:TIPD ETL reaches(13.7 ± 0.4)% in ambient atmosphere,which is 1.20 times that of the PSCs with PCBM only.

Here we investigate temperature-dependent charge transport in solution-processed methylammonium lead triiodide(MAPbI)perovskite thin films with steady-state mobility measurements.Based on the control of thickness(L)of MAPbI films,one attains a tunability in carrier mobility,trap density and recombination that lead to varying the device characteristics.We find that the increased hole mobility in MAPbI with incremental variation on L is associated with the reduction in trap concentration and Shockley-Read-Hall(SRH)recombination.By interrogating the ideality factor,we identify that the SRH charge recombination is present in the optimal solar cell.Of interest,the impact of traps on recombination becomes weakened and eventually is overwhelmed by bimolecular recombination with increasing L.Photoluminescence decay kinetics reveals that the PL related to surface and bulk recombination is both longer-lived at larger L,in line with the results using electrical characterization.The meliorated transport properties with reduced charge trapping in MAPbI films can correlate to the slightly increased crystallinity and homogeneity of grain size distribution in thicker films.The combinatorial study shows that charge transport alongside traps can be tuned simply by the physical parameter of L.In the meanwhile,our work points to the necessity to further reduce the trap density so as to boost the photovoltaic performance using perovskite thin films.

Genetic diversity of four tobacco viruses in China

TMV,CMV,TEV and PVY are great threats to tobacco production in China.To find out the distribution and molecular variation of these tobacco viruses,we conducted an investigation a- nd analysis of tobacco viruses diseases in 12 main tobacco production areas in China.409(154 in 2010 and255 in 2011) tobacco leaf samples were collected from 12 main production areas in Chi- na.All the samples were tested by DAS-EUSA and RT-PCR.The results confirmed that TMV,C- MV,TEV and PVY distributed widely in China,and the average detection rate of these fourviru- ses was more than50%.Among these samples,we isolated and identified 18 TMV isolates,21 CM- V isolates,15 TEV isolates,and 21 PVY.Compared with the online data,the CP identity ofhucle- otide sequences and amino acid sequences of the four viruses were;TMV is 97%100%and 72%100%,CMV is81%100%and 78%100%,TEV is 96%100%and 97%100%,PVY is96%100%and97%100%.The nucleotide sequence of the CP of these isolates was analyzed byusi- ng RDP4 software.3 distinct recombinant events were identified,among which 1 was from CMV isolates,1 from TEV isolates and 1 from PVY isolates.In addition,the ratio of non-synonymous and synonymous sites(d/d) of these isolates was calculated,which shows the TMV,CMV,TEV and PVY isolates are effected by negative selection.According to the phylogenetic tree of TMV isolates,34 TMV isolates(16from the published sequences online) were divided into twosubgro- ups:Group Ⅰ and Group Ⅱ(bootstrap support values > 60%).38 CMV isolates were put intoGro- up I and 5 CMV isolates were put intoGroup Ⅱ.39 TEV isolates(24 from the database) weredivi- ded into four groups:Group I,Group Ⅱ,Group Ⅲ and Group Ⅳ(bootstrap support values > 90%).73 PVY isolates(52 from the online database) were divided into 2 groups,Group I and Group Ⅱ(bootstrap support values >90%).The results showed that there was obvious genetic variation in TMV,CMV,TEV and PVY isolates.
