The recognition of steel coils and saddles from the point cloud data is quite important in complex steel industrial environment. In this work, a deep learning algorithm based on multi-scale features and Pointnet network is proposed. For the preprocessing of raw data, the pass-through filtering method and Ransac algorithm are designed to filter and remove uninteresting point clouds, and then the edge-detection algorithm and MeanShift clustering method are added to segment and obtain valid single point cloud data. Next, an improved Pointnet network is proposed to classify the type of coils and saddles, where a multiscale features’ extraction is introduced to enhance the capability of extracting partial point information. At last, 4500 datasets of steel coils\saddles collected from on-site industry are used for network training. The experimental results demonstrated that the method can achieve high recognition accuracy and meet the real-time requirements.

With the development of urbanization,the underground pipelines play an important role in ensuring the basic conditions of citizen ***,construction activities are continuously increasing in the mainland of China nowadays,which lead to serious damages and threatens to the underground pipelines by excavation *** this end,we focus on developing an automatically monitoring system for underground pipeline network protection in this *** acoustic characteristics of excavation equipment are first ***,a recognition framework combining with the feature extraction algorithm of Mel-Frequency Linear Prediction Cepstral Coefficients（MF-PLPCC） and the classification algorithm of Regularized Extreme Learning Machine（RELM） is developed for excavation *** MF-PLPCC processing includes the use of Mel filter bank that simulates the acoustic perception of human ear to different frequency,and the use of a power-law nonlinearity that replaces the traditional log nonlinearity used in *** results demonstrate that the method of this paper provides substantial improvements in recognition accuracy comparing to other state-of-the-art methods.
