This paper compares the irreversible and reversible rate equations from several uni-uni kinetic mechanisms (Michaelis-Menten, Hill and Adair equations) and bi-bi mechanisms (single- and double- displacement equations). In reversible reactions, Haldane relationship is considered to be identical for all mechanisms considered and reversible equations can be also obtained from this rela- tionship. Some reversible reactions of the metabolism are also presented, with their equilibrium constant.

The studies performed in the frame of a project destined for the search of new (t,n) and (p,n) reactions of interest in nuclear reactors are described. Experimental evidences of the observations of the reactions: 46Ti(t,n)48V, 48Ti(p,n)48V, 52Cr(t,n)54Mn, 56Fe(p,n)56Co, 72Ge(t,n)74As and 74Ge(p,n)74As, are presented. Additional data on some secondary reactions, already characterised for the production of 7Be, 56Co, 58Co, 65Zn and 88Y, were also obtained. The significance of these data is discussed.

The reaction of L (MAD) with Cu2+ and Co2+ chlorides affords new metal complexes. The isolated solid complexes were synthesized by two different techniques i.e., chemical and tribochemical methods. Four new complexes were synthesized by direct chemical reactions of MCl2 (M = Co2+ and Cu2+) with MAD in absolute EtOH. The isolated solid complexes were used as starting compounds to synthesize another four new complexes using tribochemical technique by grinding the previous complexes in the solid state with excess KI in agate mortar. The results of the isolated complexes indicate the substitution of the chloride by iodide ions during grinding and extraction of the complexes by a mixture of solvents (EtOH + MeOH). Also, the results suggest that no reduction of Cu2+ or oxidation of Co2+ complexes is observed. The IR spectra of the complexes suggest that L acts in a bidentate manner. Moreover, the results of electronic spectra and magnetic measurements for the chloride and iodide complexes suggest distorted-octahedral and/or tetrahedral for Cu2+ and high-spin octahedral and/or tetrahedral structures around the Co2+ ion, respectively.

Objective: Search the "real world" case reports of Houttuynia cordata Thunb (HCT)-associated adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to systematically mine potential ADRs of HCT and further investigate whether HCT contained preparations could cause aristolochic acid nephropathy or cancer. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, and CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, Sinomed databases were searched from databases setup to 1st January 2019. All case reports using HCT contained preparations were pooled according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. 15 items in case reportes including basic informations of studies/patients, characters/treaments of ADRs were extracted and analyzed. Results: A total of 346 case reports (441 patients) on the use of different preparations of HCT were finally pooled, among which 89 articles (117 patients) just presented efficacy reports without ADRs and 257 articles (324 patients) on the HCT-related ADRs were further analyzed.① HCT in vivo injections were recorded in 265 articles (338 patients) including 249 ADR reports (315 patients) and 16 efficacy reports (23 patients). As for the ADRs reports, allergic reaction was the major ADRs with different symptoms and onset time. The worst consequences were anaphylactic shock (116/315) and death (11/315), followed by dyspnea (228/315), change of complexion (181/315), heart of abnormality (180/315), chest tightness (147/315), cyanosis (142/315) and so on. The fast onset time was 10 seconds and the most ADRs happened in 30 minutes. Dexamethasone was the mainly medication to treat ADRs.② Oral HCT agents were descripted in 75 articles (94 patients) including 8 ADR reports (9 patients) and 67 efficacy reports (85 patients). Among the 8 ADR reports, 8 patients used Chinese patent medications contained HCT and only 1 patient used HCT decoction. The ADRs almost manifested as skin symptoms, including rubella, macula, rash and urticaria.③ HCT external preparations reported in 6 articles (9 patients), none of those presented any ADRs symptoms.④ No case was

Forty-two cancer patients were randomly divided into acupuncture plus radiotherapy chemotherapy (acupuncture) group and radiotherapy-chemotherapy (control) group. The indexes ob served were the counts of leukocytes and thrombocytes, and the activities of both natural killer (NK) cells and intCrleukin(IL) - 2. The findings showed that the counts of both leukocytes and thrombo cytes in acupuncture group had no significant changes while those of control group lowered consider ably, displaying a significant difference between the two groups (P< 0.01 ). The activities of NK cells and IL - 2 of acupuncture group raised apparently while that of NK cells and IL - 2 in control group lowered markedly. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.01 ). In acupuncture group, radiotherapy and chemotherapy induced symptoms of the d1gest1ve system and ner vous system were strikingly less than those of the control group, suggesting that acupuncture can pro nouncedly ameliorate radiotherapy and chemotherapy induced symptoms of arrest of bone marrow, im munosuppression, digestive system and nervous system.

To overcome the ever-growing organic pollutions in the water system,abundant efforts have been dedicated to fabricating efficient Fenton-like carbon catalysts.However,the rational design of carbon catalysts with high intrinsic activity remains a long-term goal.Herein,we report a new N-molecule-assisted self-catalytic carbonization process in augmenting the intrinsic Fenton-like activity of metal-organic-framework-derived carbon hybrids.During carbonization,the N-molecules provide alkane/ammonia gases and the formed iron nanocrystals act as the in situ catalysts,which result in the elaborated formation of carbon nanotubes(in situ chemical vapor deposition from alkane/iron catalysts)and micro-/meso-porous structures(ammonia gas etching).The obtained catalysts exhibited with abundant Fe/Fe-Nx/pyridinic-N active species,micro-/meso-porous structures,and conductive carbon nanotubes.Consequently,the catalysts exhibit high efficiency toward the degradation of different organic pollutions,such as bisphenol A,methylene blue,and tetracycline.This study not only creates a new pathway for achieving highly active Fenton-like carbon catalysts but also takes a step toward the customized production of advanced carbon hybrids for diverse energy and environmental applications.

Activation Cross Section Measurement for the Eu(n,γ) reactions

The cross sections forEu(n,γ)Eu,Eu(n,γ)(152g)Eu andEu(n,γ)Eu reactions have been measured relatively to that ofAu for neutron energy from 22 to 1100 keV, using the activation technique. Neutrons were generated via the ~7Li(p,n)~7Be and T(p,n)~3He reaction with a 4.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator at Peking University. The activities after irradiation were measured with two calibrated high resolution HPGe detectors. The accuracy of the measurement is 6～7%. The experiment results were compared with existing data.
