Astrophysical reaction rates of the ^8Li（p, τ）^9Beg.s. Direct Capture reaction

Based on the angular distribution of the ^8Li（d, n）^9Beg.s, reaction at Ec.m. = 8.0 MeV and distorted wave Born approximation analysis, the single particle spectroscopic factor S1,3/2 for the ground state of ^9Be = ^8Li×p is derived to be 0.64 ± 0.21. In addition, we deduce the astrophysical S-factors and rates of the ^8Li（p, γ）^9Beg.s. direct capture reaction at energies of astrophysical interests.

We conducted a comprehensive study of the neutron capture cross section of 12C within the relevant astrophysical energy range.Through rigorous R-matrix analysis,we determined the Maxwellian-averaged cross section to be 11.98±0.25μb at kT=30 keV.This result is approximately four times higher than the thermal neutron capture cross section estimated in earlier studies assuming the 1/v law.The implications of our findings extend to the region of inhomogeneous Big-Bang models in nuclear astrophysics,where understanding the behaviour of neutron capture cross sections plays a crucial role in elucidating the intricate processes that shaped the early universe.

The mass effect of the quark phase transition in supernova core

Constituent quark mass model is adopted as a tentative one to study the phase transition between two-flavour quark matter and more stable three-flavour quark matter in the core of supernovae. The result shows that the transition has a significant influence on the increasing of the core temperature, the neutrino abundance and the neutrino energies, which contributes to the enhancement of the successful probability of supernova explosion. However, the equilibrium values of these parameters （except the temperature） from the constituent quark mass model in this work are slightly bigger than those obtained from the other model. And we find that the constituent quark mass model is also applicable to describing the transition in the supernova core.

Exact Solution of the Cluster Size Distribution for Multi—polymer Coagulation Process

We propose a simple irreversible multi-polymer coagulation model in which m polymers consist of multiple components bond spontaneously to form a larger cluster. We solve the generalized Smoluchowski rate equation with constant reaction rates to obtain the exact solution of the cluster size distribution. The results indicate that the evolution behaviour of the system depends crucially on the polymer number m of the coagulation reaction. The cluster concentrations decay as t-m/(m-1)2, and the typical size S(t) of the m-polymer coagulation system grows as t1/(m-1). On the other hand, the cluster size distribution may approach unusual scaling form in some cases.

Mesophilic biogas production and substrate decomposition is one of the significant limiting steps in biogas generation. The rate of generation and quality often affect the viability of biogas systems. This study assessed the potential for biogas process catalysis using powdered Sorghum bicolor L., Zea mays, and Pennisetum glaucum. The kinetics and biogas generation processes were studied. Experiments were conducted in 1 m3 tubular batch reactors, where batches were dosed with various organic biomolecules. Results show that the use of P. glaucum L. and S. bicolor L. reduced the biogas retention times significantly. Biogas generation commenced after the first day for digesters fed with S. bicolor L. and P. glaucum L. while one with Z. mays and control occurred on day two. The rate of biomethanation and methane content were enhanced. S. bicolor L. led to the highest methane content. Findings reveal that locally available organic biomolecules improved biogas quality and quantity.
