Compound Zhebei granules combined with chemotherapy for the treatment of refractory acute leukemia: a randomized clinical trial

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of compound Zhebei granules(CZBG) with chemotherapy in the treatment of refractory acute ***: In this multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, we used a central(online) randomization system to assign 235 patients to two treatment groups. A total of 118 patients received chemotherapy combined with CZBG(4 g,twice daily) and 117 patients received chemotherapy plus placebo. The clinical efficacy was evaluated at the end of one chemotherapeutic ***: In the full analysis set, in which deaths due to disease progression were regarded as inefficacy, the rates of complete remission(CR) and partial remission(CR + PR) were 32.35% and 50.00%,respectively, for the chemotherapy combined with CZBG group, and 23.08% and 35.58%, respectively,for the chemotherapy plus placebo group. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups according to a ysis set(PPχ2test(P clinical remission rate of refractory acute leukemia after one just one therapeutic cycle.

This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials aimed to evaluate the effects of probiotic supplementation on glucose homeostasis in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).The meta-analysis was performed in accordance with the Cochrane Handbook guidelines and relevant the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses(PRISMA)statement *** 825 identified reports,11 randomized clinical trials were included in the *** analysis of pooled extracted data revealed that supplementation with probiotics significantly decreased fasting blood glucose(FBG,n=7;standardized mean difference(SMD)=−0.40;95%confidence interval(CI):−2.02,−0.02;P=0.04)and insulin levels(n=6;SMD=−0.57;95%CI:−0.89,−0.25;P=0.0004)and the homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance(n=7;SMD=−0.64;95%CI:−0.96,−0.31;P=0.0001)while increasing the quantitative insulin sensitivity check index(QUICKI,n=5;SMD=0.58;95%CI:0.08,1.09;P=0.02)in patients with *** FBG-reducing effect decreased as the baseline body mass index(BMI)and mean age of the participants ***,a greater number of bacterial species and a higher bacterial dose were shown to reduce QUICKI *** systematic review indicated that probiotic supplementation may help to control glucose homeostasis in adults with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Efficacy and safety evaluation of intravenous infusion of cervus and cucumis polypeptides for treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head: a randomized clinical trial

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravenous cervus and cucumis polypeptides for treating avascular necrosis of the femoral head(ANFH) in regard to pain and hip function in a randomized clinical ***: A total of 96 subjects with ANFH who were recruited at the Orthopaedic Hospital Affiliated with Hebei United University and Qian Hai Femoral Head Hospital of Beijing were assigned by lottery to an intervention group(n = 48) or a control group(n = 48). All subjects underwent physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises. In addition,subjects in the intervention group were given intravenous infusions of cervus and cucumis polypeptides. Visual analogue scale(VAS), Harris hip score,and radiography or magnetic resonance imaging were applied to assess all subjects at the beginning of treatment and 3, 6, and 9 months afterward. All the subjects were followed up for 2 ***: At the beginning of treatment, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of the general condition of patients or the VAS and Harris hip scores(all P > 0.05). At 3, 6, and 9 months after treatment,however, the VAS score decreased and the Harris hip score increased in all patients, with the improvement of intervention group significantly greater than that of the control group(P 0.05).CONCLUSION: Intravenous infusion of cervus and cucumis polypeptides relieved pain and improved hip function of subjects with ***, the intravenous infusion of cervus and cucumis polypeptides was a safe, effective treatment for ANFH.

BACKGROUND： Rheumatoid arthritis（RA） is a systemic inflammatory disease characterized by functional disability and pain. Although acupuncture is widely used, until now Western acupuncture studies on RA have not shown conclusive positive results. Acupuncture is regarded as a reflex therapy that has effects on the human autonomic nervous system. Objective： To assess the efficacy and safety of Moluodan （摩罗丹~） in treating dysplasia in chronic atrophic gastritis （CAG） patients. Methods： This was a multi-centered, double-blind, randomized controlled trial. The total of 196 subjects were assigned to receive either Moluodan or folic acid in a 2：1 ratio by blocked randomization. Mucosa marking targeting biopsy （MTB） was used to insure the accuracy and consistency between baseline and after 6-month treatment. Primary outcomes were histological score, response rate of pathological lesions and dysplasia disappearance rate. Secondary endpoints included gastroscopic findings, clinical symptom and patient reported outcome （PRO） instrument. Results： Dysplasia score decreased in Moluodan group （P=0.002）, significance was found between groups （P=0.045）. Dysplasia disappearance rates were 24.6% and 15.2% in Moluodan and folic acid groups respectively, no significant differences were found （P=0.127）. The response rate of atrophy and intestinal metaplasia were 34.6% and 23.0% in Moluodan group, 24.3% and 13.6% in folic acid group. Moluodan could improve erythema （P=0.044）, and bile reflux （P=0.059）, no significance between groups. Moluodan was better than folic acid in improving epigastric pain, epigastric suffocation, belching and decreased appetite （P〈0.05）, with symptom disappearance rates of 37% to 83%. Conclusions： Moluodan improved dysplasia score in histopathology, and erythema and bile reflux score in endoscopy, and superior to folic acid in improving epigastric pain, epigastric suffocation, belching and decreased appetite.
