Xuanbai Chengqi decoction(宣白承气汤) plus Western Medicine in treatment of severe pneumonia with symptom pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing lung:a Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Xuanbai Chengqi decoction(宣白承气汤, XBCQD) plus Western Medicine(WM) in treatment of severe pneumonia with symptom pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing ***: randomized controlled trials(RCTs) investigating the effect of XBCQD on severe pneumonia with symptom pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing lung, were included in this study. Seven electronic databases were searched up to March ***-analysis was conducted by Review Manager5.3 software. Risk ratio(RR) and mean difference(MD) with 95% confidence interval(CI) were used as effect ***: Eleven RCTs were included, involving992 participants. Meta-analysis showed that XBCQD combined with WM achieved better effectiveness than WM alone in terms of total effective rate[RR = 1.23, 95%CI(1.16, 1.30)], clinical pulmonary infection score [CPIS, MD =-2.02, 95%CI(-2.42,-1.63)], acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ [APACHE Ⅱ, MD =-6.81, 95% CI(-8.26,5.37)], mechanical ventilation time [MD =-101.41,95%CI(-140.47,-62.34)], and lactic acid content in arterial blood [MD =-2.41, 95%CI(-2.64,-2.18)].CONCLUSION: XBCQD combined with WM had better benefit than WM alone to the patients of severe pneumonia with the symptom pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing lung. However, due to low quality of the included studies, more rigorously designed studies were required to further evaluate the effectiveness and safety of XBCQD in the treatment of severe pneumonia with symptom pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing lung.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of songlingxuemaikang(松龄血脉康,SLXMK)on mild essential hypertension in patients in terms of endothelial ***:We enrolled 90 patients with mild essential hypertension in Xuanwu Hospital from January 2016 to December *** evaluate the effects of SLXMK,the 90 patients were randomly assigned at a 2∶1 ratio into 2 groups:the SLXMK group(500 mg per capsule,4500 mg/d,n=60)and the losartan potassium group(50 mg per table,50 mg/d,n=30).The total study period was 12 weeks,and the changes of blood pressure,laboratory test and endothelium function were compared between two ***:After 12 weeks of treatment with SLXMK,blood pressure(BP)and plasma lipid levels significantly improved(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the reactive hyperemia index(RHI)increased in the SLXMK group(P<0.05).The results of multivariate logisticregression analyses examining the association of selected variables with showed that high level of oxidized low density lipoprotein(ox-LDL)was positively associated with endothelial ***:SLXMK not only effectively decreased BP and plasma lipid levels,but also reduced ox-LDL and RHI in patients with mild essential *** SLXMK might improve endothelial function through decreasing the circulating ox-LDL.

Objective： To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tongxinluo Capsule（通心络胶囊, TXL） for patients with cardiac syndrome X（CSX）. Methods： randomized controlled trials（RCTs） regarding TXL in the treatment of CSX were searched in Chinese Biomedicine Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, Wanfang Database, Pub Med, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of controlled trial, websites of the Chinese and International Clinical trial Registry platform up to June 30, 2015. The intervention was either TXL alone or TXL combined with conventional treatment, while the control intervention was conventional treatment with or without placebo. Data extraction, methodological quality assessment and data analyses were performed according to the Cochrane criteria. The primary outcome was a composite event of death, acute myocardial infarction（AMI）, angina requiring hospitalization, revascularization, and heart failure. The secondary outcome measures were angina symptom improvement, electrocardiograph（ECG） improvement, and serum endothelin-1（ET-1） level. The adverse events were also recorded. RevMan 5.3 software was applied for data analyses. Results： Twelve RCTs（696 patients） were included. Compared with conventional treatment, the addition of TXL to conventional treatment showed some benefits on relieving angina symptoms [risk ratio（RR）： 1.46, 95% confidence interval（CI）（1.25, 1.71）, P〈0.01], and improving ECG [RR： 1.45, 95% CI（1.21, 1.74）, P〈0.01]. The pooled result did not support a benefit of TXL on reducing the incidence of primary outcome [RR： 0.20, 95% CI（0.02, 1.61）, P=0.13]. In addition, TXL decreased serum ET-1 concentration of CSX patients [standardized mean number： –1.63, 95% CI（–2.29, –0.96）, P〈0.01]. No serious adverse events were reported. Conclusions： TXL documents potential benefits on attenuating angina symptoms, improving ECG and decreasing serum ET-1 level for CSX patients. However, more rigorous RCTs with high qual

Objective:To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Zhichuanling Oral Liquid(止喘灵口服液)in the treatment of bronchitis ***:A systematic search of CNKI,Wanfang Data,VIP,CBM,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase and Web of Science was conducted to screen out randomized controlled trials of Zhichuanling Oral Liquid in the treatment of bronchial ***-analysis and systematic evaluation of the included studies were conducted to finally included researches using the Cochrane Handbook 5.1 evaluation standard tool and RevMan 5.3 ***:Five studies were included,with a total sample size of 354 cases,176 in experimental group and 178 in control ***-analysis showed that the total effective rate of Zhichuanling Oral Liquid combined with conventional treatment was better than that of conventional treatment alone(RR=1.27,95%CI[1.13-1.42],Ptrial protocols with large samples,rigorous design and in line with international standards to improve the quality of evidence in the future.

Objective:The effectiveness and safety of Tianma Gouteng Granules(天麻钩藤颗粒)in the treatment of dizziness were systematically ***:A randomized controlled trial of Tianma Gouteng Granules for dizziness was screened out by searching CNKI,Wanfang Data,VIP,SinoMed,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science in a systematic way and was based on Handbook 5.1 evaluation criteria and tools and RevMan 5.3 software for meta-analysis of the final inclusion of the ***:A total of 7 studies were included,6 studies were included in meta-anlysis and 1 other study,with a total sample size of 568 cases,including 328 cases in the experiential group and 240 cases in the control *** systolic pressure of Tianma Gouteng Granules alone or combined with conventional treatment in the treatment of dizziness is better than conventional treatment alone(MD=-3.38,95%CI[-4.90,-1.86],P<0.00001).The diastolic pressure of Tianma Gouteng Granules alone or combined with conventional treatment in the treatment of dizziness had no difference compared with conventional treatment alone(MD=-1.35,95%CI[-2.36,-0.34],P=0.72).The TCM syndromes score of Tianma Gouteng Granules alone or combined with conventional treatment in the treatment of dizziness was better than conventional treatment(MD=-5.18,95%CI[-6.89,-5.47],P<0.00001).The marked effective rate of Tianma Gouteng Granules combined with conventional treatment in the treatment of dizziness was better than conventional treatment(RR=2.09,95%CI[1.35,3.24],P=0.001).The marked effective rate of Tianma Gouteng Granules in the treatment of dizziness was better than conventional treatment(RR=1.85,95%CI[1.34,2.54],P=0.0002).Adverse actions included stomach discomfort,dry mouth,headache,dizziness,nausea,insomnia,rash,*** number of reported cases in both groups was ***:The treatment of systolic pressure,TCM syndrome score and marked effective rate of Tianma Gouteng Granules alone or combined with conventional treatment fo
