Hardware-in-the-loop simulation technology of wide-band radar targets based on scattering center model

Hardware-in-the-loop （HWIL） simulation technology can verify and evaluate the radar by simulating the radio frequency environment in an anechoic chamber. The HWIL simulation technology of wide-band radar targets can accurately generate wide-band radar target echo which stands for the radar target scattering characteristics and pulse modulation of radar transmitting signal. This paper analyzes the wide-band radar target scattering properties first. Since the responses of target are composed of many separate scattering centers, the target scattering characteristic is restructured by scattering centers model. Based on the scattering centers model of wide-band radar target, the wide-band radar target echo modeling and the simulation method are discussed. The wide-band radar target echo is reconstructed in real-time by convoluting the transmitting signal to the target scattering parameters. Using the digital radio frequency memory （DRFM） system, the HWIL simulation of wide-band radar target echo with high accuracy can be actualized. A typical wide-band radar target simulation is taken to demonstrate the preferable simulation effect of the reconstruction method of wide-band radar target echo. Finally, the radar target time-domain echo and high-resolution range profile （HRRP） are given. The results show that the HWIL simulation gives a high-resolution range distribution of wide-band radar target scattering centers.

＜正＞A novel approach to radar netting is presented in this *** on the measured radar cross section（RCS）of interested targets and the coverage diagrams of the different radars in a radar network,the approach can be used to solve the problem of how optimally to locate the radars to achieve a satisfactory surveillance area and some highly concerned areas（i.e.,core areas）inside. Several factors have been taken into account in this approach,such as local terrain around radar,manmade interference,flying direction of target,etc. Simple examples are discussed for illustrative purpose.

The Gaussian Beam Summation and the Gaussian Launching Methods in Scattering Problem

This paper is mainly devoted to application of the Gaussian beam summation technique in electromagnetic simulations problem. Gaussian beams are asymptotic solutions of the Helmholtz equation within the paraxial approximation. Since they are insensitive to ray transition region, several techniques based on Gaussian beam are used to evaluate high frequency EM wave equation, which overcome partially or fully the difficulties of singular regions (caustics, zero field in shadow zones). This paper concentrates on the explicit formulation of the electromagnetic field scattered from radar target. In this approach, when the incident field illuminates the target, the scattering is accounted in a complex weighing function. The wave field at a receiver is evaluated as superposition of Gaussian beams concentrated close to rays emerging from the target, passing through the neighbor of the receiver.
