Small bowel racemose hemangioma complicated with obstruction and chronic anemia:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal hemangiomas are rare benign *** to the size of the affected vessels,hemangiomas are histologically classified into cavernous,capillary,or mixed-type tumors,with the cavernous type being the most common and racemose hemangiomas being very rare in the *** of uncertain origin and anemia are the main clinical manifestations,and other presentations are *** to the rarity of gastrointestinal hemangiomas and lack of specific manifestations and diagnostic methods,preoperative diagnoses are often delayed or *** SUMMARY We report a 5-year-old girl who presented with abdominal pain,nausea,and vomiting for a duration of 10 *** laboratory studies showed prominent *** tomography and contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the abdomen revealed a small bowel obstruction caused by a giant abdominal *** resection of the ileal lesions was performed through surgery,and the final pathology results revealed a diagnosis of racemose hemangioma complicated by a small bowel obstruction and simultaneous chronic *** The current report will increase the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal hemangiomas and provide a review of the related literature.

Disentangling confusions in inflorescence morphology:Patterns and diversity of reproductive shoot ramification in angiosperms

Terminology of inflorescence diversity has often been used in a confusing way in the literature,partly because it was based on uncritical and outdated *** particular,the terms cyme,thyrse,and panicle have been *** a more critical classification worked out by several authors is available,it is unfortunately not in general use because most of the relevant publications are written in *** addition,some terms have not been used in the same way by morphologists and developmental *** present review attempts to remedy the situation with a simple outline of a classification based on:(i)different branching patterns;(ii)differential elongation of axes of different orders;and(iii)repetition of basic ramification patterns in different *** and cymose branching are two extreme patterns;the former with limitation of axial orders to two,the second with limitation of lateral axes of each order to *** a branching system,a sequence of racemose→cymose and,within the cyme,of dichasial→monochasial is common,but the reverse sequence generally does not *** and evolutionary aspects of inflorescences are briefly *** patterns are often stable in larger *** of mutants studied in developmental genetic studies are mainly altered in flower or branch numbers or relative branch length,but not in branching *** is also a contribution towards the goal of a unified terminology for the different fields of biology dealing with inflorescences.

Neurocysticercosis in Iran: An Unexpected Case and Literature Review

Neurocysticercosis is a significant public health issue worldwide. Even though cysticercosis was once thought to have been eradicated in the United States, it is currently a growing public health problem in the United States, and immigrants from endemic areas are at the highest risk of acquiring this disease. In Iran, there was no report from this worrisome infection. The clinical presentation of neurocysticercosis is variable and vague. In this article, we will explain a case of neurocysticercosis encountered in the Shohada Hospital pathology department, and then we will review neurologic and radiologic symptoms, laboratory and pathologic findings, as well as medication for treatment, briefly.
