Dear Editor The fully phosphorylated myo-inositol ring, inositol hexakisphos- phate （IP6） is commonly known as phytic acid. It is the most abundant form of organic phosphate in soil （Raboy, 2003）. Phytic acid is able to regulate a broad range of intracellular processes, controlling many aspects of cell physiology both directly or as its derivative inositol pyrophosphates （Wilson et al., 2013）. One such process is phosphate homeostasis, as IP6 regulates the level of inorganic polyphosphate （polyP）, a linear polymer of phosphate groups that buffers cellular phosphate by regulation of its synthesis/degradation （Saiardi, 2012）. The quantification of seed phosphate levels, and the identification and localization of phosphate-containing molecular species, is of fundamental importance for the biotechnology industry. Several studies have reported the biochemical extrac- tion and analysis of the levels of phytic acid in plant seeds （Thavarajah and Thavarajah, 2014）. Direct experimental tools to visualize the phytic acid cellular distribution have not yet been developed, although DAPI fluorescence shift has been used to visualize the cellular presence of polyP.

Dear Editor, Plant tissues derived from meristems including SAM （shoot apical meristem） and RAM （root apical meristem） are located at the tips of shoot and root and procambial cell tissues in the vascular system （Simon and Stahl, 2011）. Through asymmetric periclinal cell division, a few layers of stem cells in vascular meristems differentiate into apposing xylem and phloem cells, forming the conducting system and playing an important role in long-distance transport of water, nutrients, sugars, and signaling molecules such as hormones in plant （EIo et al., 2013）.

Genome sequencing of more than 80 thermophiles has pro- vided powerful databases for the preliminary determination of genes essential to thermal adaptation （Berka et al., 2003; Berezovsky and Shakhnovich, 2005; Andrews et al., 2010）. The oxidative pentose-phosphate pathway （OPPP） represents a central branch of cellular metabolism emanating from glucose-6-phosphate （G6P） to provide reductive power （NADPH） and sugar phosphates for anabolic biosyntheses. In plant cells, the oxidative OPPP branch is found in the cytosol and in plastids, consisting of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase （G6PD）, 6-phosphogluconolactonase （PGL）, and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase （6PGD）. These enzymes are encoded by small gene families in the nuclear genome, which, in Arabidopsis, comprise six G6PD, five 6-PGL, and three 6-PGD isoforms （Kruger and von Schaewen, 2003）. Specific targeting motifs at the C-terminus of 6-PGL and 6-PGD isoforms suggested that the OPPP may also occur in peroxisomes （Reumann et al., 2004）.

气候变暖引发的生态环境效应无疑将对人类生存造成巨大威胁,尤其是在植被稀少、生态脆弱的中国西北干旱区。了解过去温暖气候条件下的土地覆被变化,可为认识增温背景下的土地覆被响应机制,以及制定未来人类适应策略提供重要线索。相对“温暖”的中全新世可为认识未来气候变暖情形下的土地覆被变化提供重要参考。为此,本文基于15个化石花粉记录、13种植物的相对花粉产量（RPP）集成值、1069个现代表土花粉数据以及MODIS现代植被盖度数据（2001–2010）,使用reveals模型和现代类比法（MAT）重建了中国西北干旱区过去6000年（中全新世）以来的土地覆被变化,最后分析并讨论了土地覆被重建的可靠性、区域植被类型演变、土地覆被区域差异以及影响因素。重建结果显示,距今6000年以来东部盆地（G1–G2,见附录1）植被覆盖率在25.4%–46.9%之间（平均38.8%）,植物组成以蒿属、藜科为主;植被类型以荒漠草原和荒漠为主,距今1500年前后年由荒漠草原转变为荒漠。北部盆地（G3–G5）植被覆盖率在10.8%–50.6%之间（平均24.3%）,禾本科、藜科、蒿属以及麻黄科为该区优势植物。G3区域植被类型以荒漠草原为主,距今3500年以来植被趋于干旱化;G4和G5区域植被长期以荒漠为主。南部盆地（G6–G8）的植被覆盖率在12.0%–44.7%（平均22.6%）,G6以禾本科为主,G7无明显优势植物类型,但麻黄覆盖率为研究区最高值（平均8.0%）,G8以麻黄为主。G6和G8的植被类型分别由荒漠草原、荒漠植被主导,G7植被由荒漠和荒漠草原交替主导。山区（G9–G11）植被覆盖率长期维持在研究区内的最高水平（45.0%–63.0%,平均52.7%）。G9的乔木覆盖率为研究区最高值（平均53.5%）,主要反映了附近山地森林植被。G10和G11分别以禾本科和莎草科、禾本科和蒿属为主;G10植被由草原和草甸/草甸草原交替主导,G11长期以草原为主。与花粉百分比相比,基于reveals模型的重建结果较好地反映出现代花粉—植被关系的一般性认识,表明该模型在西北干旱区有较大的应用潜力。然而,模型重建的可靠性仍有必要做进一步定量评估。基于化石花粉的统计分析表明,距今6000年以来西北干旱区广泛发育以草本为主的植被类型,乔木重建结果仅在一定程度上反映干旱区山地森林植被。98%的reveals重建结果误差较小,表明模型输入数据（化石花粉数据与RPP数据）的质量控制相对合理。主成分分析（PCA）和匹配度检验表明,现代花粉数据可基本覆盖化石花粉数据的变化范围,可为绝大多数化石花粉组合提供较好的现代“相似型”。“留一”交叉验证显示,现代训练集的预测性能总体较好,但预测低值的误差相对较大,这可能与低植被覆盖区的现代花粉数据较少,以及现代植被覆盖率识别误差等因素有关。97%的MAT重建结果误差较小,表明绝大多数结果相对合理。山区（G9–G11）的植被覆盖率明显高于低海拔地区（G1–G8）,东部植被覆盖明显高于西部地区,各区域海拔差异和距海远近造成的水热差异是导致植被空间差异的主要原因。距今6000年以来,研究区东部少数记录反映出干旱化趋势（植被覆盖降低）,而西部多数地区向湿润方向发展（植被覆盖提高）。各区域植被类型变幅较小,低海拔地区植被类型主要为荒漠、荒漠草原,而山地植被类型主要为草原、草甸/草甸草原以及森林植被。
