对“糖尿病”及其危害,本文有一简略说明: Diabetes occurs when blood sugar,or glucose,a source of body fuel,is toohigh and the body is not able to burn *** disease can lead to blindness,organdiseases,stroke and death. 句中的一个动词burn令我们过目难忘。此外,此疾引起的后果也令人生畏:blindness,organ diseases,stroke and death. 要测得患者的血糖含量,就得验血,就得像本文所讲的那样“pricking(刺;戳)the skin and drawing a tiny amount of blood”。美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学的研究人员研制了a hand—held ultrasound(超声波)machine,验血者可免受皮肉之苦,而又可测量到准确的血糖含量。文章末尾有一条信息:美国人中糖尿病患者约占总人口的6％。

It, from the perspective of cohesion, extracts three types of topic-shift markers used in this genre, namely 'change of narrators', 'change of objects being talked about', and 'temporal adverbials' to analyze four journalistic reports from the network media and draws the conclusion that cohesion between two topic units is usually weaker than that within a specific topic fragment.

Chinglish is often considered redundant,inappropriate or even misleading,while China English,a term put forward in 1980 by the Chinese linguist Ge Chuangui,is the Chinese variety of English which is acceptable for Kachru's"inner circle"*** is often categorized as mistakes in the classroom while China English is acceptable to describe typical Chinese special situations in English since it is difficult to find English equivalent ***,despite the various definitions pro-vided by linguists,there is not an absolute boundary between the two *** a matter of fact,Chinglish and China English can be seen as a cline.A Chinglish expression becomes a China-English one as long as it is accepted by the native *** even grammatically wrong expressions can also be accepted(just to see the expression"long time no see").Acceptability,there-fore,is an important criterion to distinguish the two concepts.
