Secular trends in incidence of lung cancer by histological type in Beijing, China, 2000-2016

Objective: The objective of this study was to characterize secular trends in the sex-specific, age-standardized incidence of lung cancer by histological type in Beijing, China, from 2000 to 2016 based on data from a populationbased cancer ***: Data on the incidence of cancer from 2000 to 2016 were obtained from the Beijing Cancer *** examined trends in the sex-specific, age-standardized incidence of lung cancer by histological type using a Joinpoint regression ***: A total of 117,409 cases of lung cancer were diagnosed from 2000 to 2016. Overall, 73,062(62.23%)patients were males. The most common histological type among both sexes was adenocarcinoma; however, the proportion of adenocarcinoma differed significantly between males and females(45.36% vs. 77.14%, respectively,P<0.0001). The age-standardized incidence of total lung cancer increased from 2000 to 2010 with an annual percent change(APC) of 2.2% [95% confidence interval(95% CI), 1.5% to 2.9%] and stabilized thereafter. Among males, the incidence of total lung cancer peaked in 2008 and then decreased slightly, with an APC of-1.1%(95%CI,-2.1% to-0.1%). Among females, the incidence increased continuously during the study period, with an APC of 1.4%(95% CI, 0.9% to 1.9%). The incidence of squamous cell carcinoma decreased significantly in recent years among both sexes, with APCs of-2.6%(95% CI,-4.5% to-0.6%) from 2007 to 2016 for males and-5.4%(95%CI,-7.2% to-3.6%) from 2004 to 2016 for females. In contrast, the incidence of adenocarcinoma increased continuously throughout the study period, by APCs of 4.0%(95% CI, 2.6% to 5.4%) for males and 6.2%(95% CI,4.8% to 7.6%) for females. The incidence of small cell carcinoma peaked in 2007 and stabilized thereafter among males, whereas it peaked in 2012 and then decreased with an APC of-14.7%(95% CI,-25.3% to-2.6%) among females. Image/video stitching is a technology for solving the field of view(FOV)limitation of images/*** stitches multiple overlapping images/videos to generate a wide-FOV image/video,and has been used in various fields such as sports broadcasting,video surveillance,street view,and *** survey reviews image/video stitching algorithms,with a particular focus on those developed in recent *** stitching first calculates the corresponding relationships between multiple overlapping images,deforms and aligns the matched images,and then blends the aligned images to generate a wide-FOV image.A seamless method is always adopted to eliminate such potential flaws as ghosting and blurring caused by parallax or objects moving across the overlapping *** stitching is the further extension of image *** usually stitches selected frames of original videos to generate a stitching template by performing image stitching algorithms,and the subsequent frames can then be stitched according to the *** stitching is more complicated with moving objects or violent camera movement,because these factors introduce jitter,shakiness,ghosting,and *** detection technique is usually combined into stitching to eliminate ghosting and blurring,while video stabilization algorithms are adopted to solve the jitter and *** paper further discusses panoramic stitching as a special-extension of image/video *** stitching is currently the most widely used application in *** survey reviews the latest image/video stitching methods,and introduces the fundamental principles/advantages/weaknesses of image/video stitching ***/video stitching faces long-term challenges such as wide baseline,large parallax,and low-texture problem in the overlapping *** technologies may present new opportunities to address these issues,such as deep learning-based semantic correspondence,and 3D image ***,

Construction of a lighting model of the real world is one of the critical aims in an augmented reality (AR) system. The theory of lighting modeling used in computer graphics(CG) is applied in this study. The position of the real light-source is first conjectured from light and shade of the registration image element by element using a ray tracking algorithm. Then the virtual light-source and virtual fiducial are constructed in the CG environment, in which, the Phong model is used to draw the light effect. By comparing the CG scene with the real image, one can modify the parameters of the lighting model over and over again, until the lighting effect of the CG scene is close enough to that of the real image. It is proved that this method works well in the indoor AR system. The method can be used feasibly in most applications with some improvements.

Purpose: This study expands on the results of a stakeholder-driven research project on quality indicators and output assessment of art and design research in Flanders-the Northern, Dutchspeaking region of Belgium. Herein, it emphasizes the value of arts & design output registration as a modality to articulate the disciplinary demarcations of art and design ***/methodology/approach: The particularity of art and design research in Flanders is first analyzed and compared to international examples. Hereafter, the results of the stakeholderdriven project on the creation of indicators for arts & design research output assessment are discussed. Findings: The findings accentuate the importance of allowing an assessment culture to emerge from practitioners themselves, instead of imposing ill-suited methods borrowed from established scientific evaluation models(Biggs & Karlsson, 2011)-notwithstanding the practical difficulties it generates. They point to the potential of stakeholder-driven approaches for artistic research, which benefits from constructing a shared metadiscourse among its practitioners regarding the continuities and discontinuities between "artistic" and "traditional" research, and the communal goals and values that guide its knowledge production(Biggs & Karlsson, 2011;Hellstr?m, 2010;Ysebaert & Martens, 2018). Research limitation: The central limitation of the study is that it focuses exclusively on the "Architecture & Design" panel of the project, and does not account for intra-disciplinary complexities in output assessment. Practical implications: The goal of the research project is to create a robust assessment system for arts & design research in Flanders, which may later guide similar international projects. Originality/value: This study is currently the only one to consider the productive potential of(collaborative) PRFSs for artistic research.

Exploiting Robust Estimators in Phase Correlation of 3D Point Clouds for 6 DoF Pose Estimation

Point cloud registration is a fundamental task in both remote sensing,photogrammetry,and computer vision,which is to align multiple point clouds to the same coordinate *** in LiDAR odometry,by conducting the transformation between two adjacent scans,the pose of the platform can be *** be specific,the goal is to recover the relative six-degree-of-freedom(6 DoF)pose between the source point cloud and the target point *** this paper,we explore the use of robust estimators in the phase correlation when registering two point clouds,enabling a 6 DoF pose estimation between point clouds in a sub-voxel *** estimator is a rule for calculating an estimate of a given quantity based on observed data.A robust estimator is an estimation rule that is insensitive to nonnormality and can estimate parameters of a given objective function from noisy *** proposed registration method is theoretically insensitive to noise and outliers than correspondence-based *** core steps are involved in the method:transforming point clouds from the spatial domain to the frequency domain,decoupling of rotations and translations,and using robust estimators to estimate phase *** the estimation of transformation parameters lies in the calculation of phase shifts,robust estimators play a vital role in shift estimation *** this paper,we have tested the performance of six different robust estimators and provide comparisons and discussions on the contributions of robust estimators in the 3D phase *** point clouds from two urban scenarios and one indoor scene are *** validate the proposed method can reach performance that predominant rotation and translation errors reaching less than 0.5°and 0.5 m,***,the performance of various tested robust estimators is compared and discussed.

This paper proposes a novel session setup mechanism in IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) by introducing the functional entity termed VSS(Visitor Subscriber Server) which is used to provide registration and location *** new mechanism aims at improving session setup procedure by a betterment of location management in *** the use of two-tier subscriber information database constituted by the HSS(Home Subscriber Server) and the VSS, the new mechanism seperates the registration procedure and location management from the S-CSCF(Serving-Call'Session Control Function), and makes them be handled by the *** the same time, the new mechanism updates the signaling procedure of registration and session *** VSS based location management, the cost of registeration and session setup procedure as well as the delay of session setup procedure become *** cost and delay functions of the new session setup mechanism as well as the cost function of new registeration are ***, simulations and analysis verify that the performance of this new mechanism gets the benefit in cost and time.

This paper deals with a binocular 3-D computer vision system based on the hierarchicalmatching of edge features, Frei and Chen operator is used to extract the edge. The averagegradients of an image obtained by two isotropic operators are non-equal quantized andthresholded in an angle, Edge features are extracted after passing a preemphasis transferfunction which can equalize, the noise affection. Binary edge images are decomposed into apyramid structure which is stored and searched using llliffe’s location method. Corre-sponding points are used to determine the range data using triangulation based on an improvedTrivedi’s formula. In calibration the authors set the optical axes of the two cameras parallelto simplify the calculation, A 3 rd order Householder transform is used to solve the compati-ble coupled equations.
