Objective: To observe the clinical effect of combining electroacupuncture and local tuina for migraine. Methods: A total of 94 migraine cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and a medication group, 48 cases in each group. Electroacupuncture and local tuina were used for cases in the observation group, whereas oral Flunarizine Hydrochloride capsules were used for cases in the medication group. Then the frequency of attacks, severity of the pain, duration of the headache, and associated symptoms of headache before and after treatment in the two groups were observed and compared. results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 93.8%, versus 63.0% in the medication group, showing a statistical significant difference(P re were statistical significant differences in frequency of attacks, severity of the pain, duration of the headache and associated symptoms between the two groups(Pre were statistical significant differences in relapse rates after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment(Proacupuncture and local tuina can obtain better effect and lower relapse rate than oral Flunarizine Hydrochloride capsules in migraine patients.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of combined taijiquan exercise and auricular point sticking for perimenopausal insomnia. Methods: A total of 170 cases who met the inclusion criteria were randomized into two groups, 85 in each group. Patients in the observation group practiced simplified taijiquan besides receiving auricular point sticking, while patients in the control group only received auricular point sticking. The therapeutic efficacies were evaluated after 8 weeks. results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 96.5%, versus 67.1% in the control group, showing a statistically significant difference(Pricular point sticking works accurately for perimenopausal insomnia, and the total effective rate is better than that of auricular point sticking alone.

Objective:To observe the effect of stage-based acupuncture on neuron specific enolase (NSE), homocysteine (Hcy) levels and magnetic resonance spectrum in patients with cerebral infarction. Methods:Ninety eligible subjects were randomized into two groups, 45 in each. The control group was intervened by conventional neurological medication, while the treatment group was by acupuncture according to different stages in addition to the conventional neurological medication. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after a treatment course. results:The total effective rate was 97.8% in the treatment group versus 77.8% in the control group, and the treatment group was significantly superior to the control (Pring the National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) score, NSE and Hcy levels, the treatment group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (Presonance spectrum revealed that the treatment group had a markedly higher N-acetyle-aspartate (NAA) concentration and lower lactic acid (Lac) concentration than the control group (Pre significantly increases clinical efficacy and heals neurological function deficit, and its mechanism is possibly related to the decrease of NSE and Hcy levels, increase of NAA, and elimination of Lac.

Therapeutic Efficacy Analysis of Balancing Yin-yang Manipulation for Post-stroke Upper Limb Spasticity

Objective: To observe the effect of balancing yin-yang needling manipulation on post-stroke upper limb spasticity and changes of electromyography(EMG) after treatment. Methods: A total of 60 eligible cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and a control group, 30 in each group. Based on routine medication, cases in the control group were treated with conventional needling manipulation, whereas cases in the observation group were treated with balancing yin-yang manipulation. After the courses of treatment were completed, the therapeutic efficacies were evaluated using modified Ashworth scale and clinical spasticity index(CSI), coupled with the integrated electromyography(IEMG) and root mean square(rMS) value of biceps in passive flexion of the elbow joint during isokinetic testing recorded with the surface EMG. results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 86.7%, versus 53.3% in the control group, showing a statistical significance(P r treatment, there was between-group statistical significance in severity of elbow spasticity(Pre were intragroup(Pr-group(Pre were intra-group(Pr-group(PrMS values. Conclusion: Balancing yin-yang and conventional needling manipulations can both improve upper limb spasm and reduce CSI as well as IEMG and rMS values in stroke patients; however, balancing yin-yang manipulation is better than conventional manipulation in clinical effect.

Blood Perfusion Effect of Acupuncture on Acute Facial Paralysis Observed by Laser Speckle Technique

Objective: To observe effect of acupuncture for acute facial paralysis patients with ocular skin blood perfusion, and to explore the safety and effectiveness of acupuncture in treating acute facial paralysis. Methods: Thirty patients with acute facial paralysis were enrolled and acupunctured in facial points and bilateral Hegu(LI 14), and the PeriCam laser speckle flow video monitoring system was used not only for recording ocular skin blood perfusion condition in both normal and affected sides before acupuncture, at 15 min after acupuncture and after removing needles immediately, but also for calculating reduction ratio of ocular skin average perfusion in the affected side face compared with the healthy ***: Compared with the healthy side of face, the ocular skin blood perfusion of the affected side after acupuncture was significantly different from that before intervention. The blood perfusion levels after 15-minute acupuncture and at the time of remaining needles were significantly different from the basic line(all Pre can significantly improve eye blood perfusion of the acute facial paralysis, enhance metabolic activity of the affected facial tissues, and promote the recovery of facial nerve function.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture plus interferential current therapy(ICT) in treating chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS), and to explore the mechanism. Methods: Sixty eligible CFS patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by electroacupuncture plus ICT, while the control group was by electroacupuncture alone. The therapeutic efficacies were evaluated after 2 treatment courses and compared between the two groups. results: The recovery rate and total effective rate were respectively 43.3% and 93.3% in the treatment group, versus 20.0% and 80.0% in the control group. There were significant differences in comparing the recovery rate and total effective rate between the two groups(Precovery rate and total effective rate in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group. Conclusion: Electroacupuncture plus ICT can produce a remarkable efficacy in treating CFS.

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture(EA)for stroke with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS).Methods:Thirty cases in conformity with the diagnostic criteria were selected and treated by *** treatment and four weeks after treatment,nocturnal polysomnography,Epworth sleeping scale(ESS),National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)were *** years after treatment,ESS was assessed and the relevant symptoms were ***:Twenty-one cases completed the observation and 9 cases dropped *** the 21 cases after treatment,apnea hyponea index(AHI)decreased obviously(Pration(SaO2)increased obviously in sleep(Pre decreased obviously(Pre didn’t improve obviously(P>0.05).In the follow-up examination two years later,16 cases completed the observation and 5 cases dropped *** the 16 cases,ESS score didn’t obviously improve in comparison of those before treatment and four weeks after treatment(both P>0.05).Conclusion:EA therapy for stroke with OSAS can reduce AHI,and enhance the lowest SaO2in sleep and improve the clinical symptoms of the *** the follow-up examinations two years after treatment,the long-term effect was not obvious.

Effect of relaxing Needling plus rehabilitation Training on Post-stroke Upper Limb Dysfunction

Objective: To observe the effect of relaxing needling plus rehabilitation training on post-stroke upper limb dysfunction. Methods: Sixty-eight eligible subjects with post-stoke upper limb dysfunction were randomized into 2 groups by the random number table, 34 in each group, to respectively receive relaxing needling method or ordinary needling method in addition to rehabilitation training for 2 months. Fugl-Meyer assessment of upper limb motor function, neurological defect score, and clinical efficacies were observed and compared. results: The two groups both showed effects. The total effective rate in the relaxing needling group was 93.8% versus 84.9% in the ordinary needling group, and the difference was statistically significant(Prelaxing needling group was better than the ordinary needling group in improving the motor function of upper limb and neurological defect(Prelaxing needling plus rehabilitation training can significantly improve the post-stroke motor dysfunction of upper limb, better than ordinary needling plus rehabilitation training.
