Dear Editor,Psychiatric disorders are a group of mental disorders characterized by psychological or behavioral disabilities.Losing of the ability to work and assuming the extensive cost of long-term treatment,patients with Psychiatric disorders are forced to support a heavy financial and medical burden.The growth and development of brain structures are dynamic,and different brain structures have major and specific functions to control behavior and performance.

The collaborative effort of an international research team from the Early Career Psychiatrists section of the World Psychiatry Association has brought about an easy-to-use,quick and stepwise mental health care toolkit for the identification and appropriate referral of those in need of mental health care during the pandemic.This simple guide can be applied in the general outpatient setting and is catered for all healthcare professionals,regardless of their expertise within the mental health field with minimal training.It is our hope that by incorporating this toolkit into our daily clinical care during the pandemic for high-risk patients and patients with non-specific complaints,we will be able to bridge the mental health gap present in our society.

As in many other countries,child Psychiatry in China has gradually developed from general Psychiatry.In the early days of the profession,child Psychiatry was considered as Psychiatry for“little adults”.Child Psychiatry in China has gradually developed and expanded since the implementation of Professor Guotai Tao’s child Psychiatric services in Nanjing in the 1930s.In particular,the profession has developed rapidly since its affiliation with the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions(IACAPAP)in 1998.Child Psychiatry has been one of the fastest developing advanced international disciplines over the past 10 years.

Background Psychiatric comorbidities are common in patients with epilepsy.Reasons for the co-occurrence of Psychiatric conditions and epilepsy remain poorly understood.Aim We aimed to triangulate the relationship between epilepsy and Psychiatric conditions to determine the extent and possible origins of these conditions.Methods Using nationwide Swedish health registries,we quantified the lifetime prevalence of Psychiatric disorders in patients with epilepsy.We then used summarydata from genome-wide association studies to investigate whether the identified observational associations could be attributed to a shared underlying genetic aetiology using cross-trait linkage disequilibrium score regression.Finally,we assessed the potential bidirectional relationships using two-sample Mendelian randomisation.Results In a cohort of 7628495 individuals,we found that almost half of the 94435 individuals diagnosed with epilepsy were also diagnosed with a Psychiatric condition in their lifetime(adjusted lifetime prevalence,44.09%;95%confidence interval(Cl)43.78%to 44.39%).We found evidence for a genetic correlation between epilepsy and some neurodevelopmental and Psychiatric conditions.For example,we observed a genetic correlation between epilepsy and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(r,=0.18,95%Cl 0.09 to 0.27,pPsychiatric conditions.Conclusions Psychiatric comorbidities are common in patients with epilepsy.Genetic correlations may partially explain some comorbidities;however,there is little evidence of a bidirectional relationship between the genetic liability of epilepsy and Psychiatric conditions.These findings highlight the need to understand the role of environmental factors or rare genetic variations in the origins of Psychiatric comorbidities in epilepsy.

2020336 Effect of cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic insomnia comorbid with depression and chronic insomnia alone.WU Enlai(吴恩来),et al.Chin Acad Psychol Sci Instit,Beijing 100101.Chin J Psychiatr 2020;53(2):140-145.Objective To study the ffect of cognitive behavioral therapy on insomnia(CBT-i)for patients with insomnia and patients with comorbid depressive disorder.Methods According to the score of Beck Depression Inventory(BDI),71 patients who met the diagnosis of insomnia were divided into the insomnia group(<14 points,33 cases)and the insomnia with depression group(≥14 points,38 cases).Patients in both groups flled in sleep diaries every day and were given standard CBT-i treatment for 8 weeks.
