Static aeroelasticity of the propulsion system of ion propulsion unmanned aerial vehicles

“Ionic wind”generators are used as the main propulsion system in ion propulsion unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).Owing to the large size and poor stiffness of the electrode array in the propulsion system,the electrode array is prone to deformation under the flight *** this work,the thrust characteristics and static aeroelastic properties of“ionic wind”propulsion systems were analyzed in *** simulation model for an“ionic wind”propulsion system was established by coupling a two-dimensional gas discharge model with a gas dynamics *** influences of electrode voltage,spacing,size,and shape on the performance of the propulsion system were *** fluid-solid interaction method was used to solve static aeroelastic characteristics under *** aerodynamic and thrust performances of the elastic state and the rigid state were *** was found that the operating voltage,the distance between two electrodes,and the emitter radius had greater impacts on the thrust of the propulsion *** propulsion system had a small contribution to the lift but a large contribution to the *** the elastic state,the lift coefficient accounted for 12.2%,and the drag coefficient accounted for 25.8%.Under the action of the downwash airflow from the wing,the propulsion system formed an upward moment around the center of mass,which contributed greatly to the pitching moment derivative of the whole *** the elastic state,the pitching moment derivative accounted for 29.7%.After elastic deformation,the thrust action point moved upward by 28.7 ***,the no lift pitching moment is reduced by 0.104 N$m,and the pitching moment coefficient is reduced by 0.014,causing a great impact on the longitudinal trimming of the whole aircraft.

Optimization and Sizing for propulsion system of Liquid Rocket Using Genetic Algorithm

Flight vehicle conceptual design appears to be a promising area for application of the Genetic Algorithm （GA） as an approach to help to automate part of the design process. This computational research effort strives to develop a propulsion system design strategy for liquid rocket to optimize take-off mass, satisfying the mission range under the constraint of axial overload. The method by which this process is accomplished by using GA as optimizer is outlined in this paper. Convergence of GA is improved by introducing initial population based on Design of Experiments Technique.

A novel hardware-in-the-loop（HIL） simulation system of aircraft is presented in this *** simulation aims to evaluate the performance of the aircraft flight control system and propulsion system with the influence of coupling characteristics between the two *** simulation system is designed and established based on the on-board devices and simulation equipment,such as flight control computer,engine controller,servo actuators and ground simulation *** order to meet the requirement of real-time,the simulation software is developed based on the real-time extension（RTX） operating *** presented system has been successfully utilized in the joint HIL simulation experiment of an aircraft to test its flight control system and population *** results show that the simulation system runs stably and reliably,and it can be an effective platform for the design and evaluation of the aircraft before its flight test.

Based on the modeling method of the co-operation between the characteristic maps and the mathematical equations, a propulsion system simulation model which includes model for large low speed two-stroke diesel engine (MAN B&W 10L90MC) and model for shaft, propeller and ship hull dynamics are proposed. To calculate propeller's characteristic, the regression functions are represented. The simulation experiments demonstrate the model can be used for engine performance prediction as well as investigate control schedules of marine propulsion system. A self-adaptive control scheme for governor which identifies system state by means of input and feedback signals and changes PID control parameters is proposed. The simulation results show that it can improve the dynamic response of the propulsion system.

Some research on aircraft is largely inspired by *** them,aerial-aquatic amphibians with trans-media locomotion capabilities have greatly promoted the development of aquatic unmanned aerial vehicles(Aqua UAV).In this article,the studies of Aqua UAV are sorted out by their biological counterpart and summarized in chronological order from 2005 to *** further understand the key technologies of Aqua UAV,we focus on the structural compatibility design of wing and aerial-aquatic propulsion methods by analyzing their advantages and *** addition,the analysis methods of kinematics and dynamics performance of Aqua UAV for simulation and experiment are involved in the process of studying the kinematics,lift/drag,and propulsion of ***,we present several challenges and propose some potential solutions to improve the ability of Aqua UAV in the future.

Based on the requirements of manned spaceships,this paper introduces the characteristics of the propulsion system from the perspectives of design scheme,basic composition,safety and reliability measures,and also introduces the ground test verification and on-orbit flight characteristics of the Shenzhou 13 propulsion *** to the flight results,it was seen that the performance of the Shenzhou 13 propulsion system fully met the engineering requirements for the manned space mission.

Continuously rotating detonation engine （CRDE） is a focus for concern in the field of aerospace propulsion. It has several advantages, including one-initiation, high thermal efficiency and simple structure. Due to these characteristics, it is expected to bring revolutionary advance- ments to aviation and aerospace propulsion systems and now has drawn much attention throughout the world. In this paper, an overview of the development of CRDE is given from several aspects： basic concepts, applications, experimental studies, numerical simulations, and so on. Representative results and outstanding contributions are summarized and the unresolved issues for further engi- neerin~ applications of CRDE are 13rovided.

propulsion Shaft and Gearbox Failure in Marine Vessels: A Duration Model Analysis

The need to mitigate downtime in marine vessels arising from propulsion system failures has led ship operating companies to devote enormous resources for research based solutions. This paper applied duration models to determine failure probabilities of shaft and gearbox systems in service boats. Using dockyard’s event history data on boat repairs and maintenance, we applied Kaplan Meier hazard and survival curves to analyse probability of failure of shaft and gearbox systems in supply, crew and tug boats. We found that average time to shaft and gearbox failure was 8.33, 5.23 and 5.21 months for tug, supply and crew boats respectively. The hazard plots however, showed that supply boats had higher probability of failure than crew boats and then tug boats in that order. Further analysis using Cox regression model showed that the boats’ shaft and gearbox system failures were significantly affected by level of lubrication oil, stress corrosion cracking and impacts on the propulsion system’s components. 采用新型片式加热器实现对490N发动机头部加热方法的改进,利用I-DEAS/TMG有限元热分析软件仿真了发动机头部温度场。分析了发动机头部温度监测传感器不能覆盖头部盘温度的问题,对头部温度监测传感器进行了优化,提高了其测温上限。分析了热控组件及发动机支架的耐温能力,提出了飞控过程中490N发动机关机的温度判据。阐述了控温回路及其控温点设计,并介绍了控温策略。最后给出了在轨飞行试验的温度控制数据,验证了热控设计的有效性。
