The architecture of project management of distributed concurrent product design in a virtual enterprise is put forward. T he process of project management and its functions are presented. Product design process coordination is also discussed. First, based on the analysis of traditi onal project management, project management and coordination of distributed coop erative product design in the virtual enterprise is put forward. Then, aiming at the characteristics of a distributed concurrent product design process, the inh erent rules and complex interrelations in product development are studied. Accor dingly, the architecture of project management of distributed cooperative produc t design in a virtual enterprise is presented to adapt to distributed concurrent development of complex products. The main advantages of the architecture are al so discussed. Finally, the emphasis is placed on the project management process. Its main functions are set forth, such as project definition, task decompositio n and distribution, resource constraints and dynamic resource scheduling, proces s fusion, task scheduling and monitoring, project plan, cost and quality evaluat ion, etc.

project management considers an important major that is used today to maximize the likelihood of building successful *** management needs an efficient controlling with innovation and alignment with its ***,this research takes the proposal that project management performance can be improved if information technology（IT）sector is more ***,this research deals with two topics and the interaction between them,are ’Innovation’ and’project management’.This research is based on the exploratory research survey using a structured questionnaire to fulfill the main goal and objectives of this *** research consists of two parts:the first one aims to provide a clear picture of the related significance of the main drivers,enablers,barriers,and impacts of innovation over the information technology innovation value *** second one aims to investigate innovative best practices that should be incorporated into project management applications in order to improve the efficiencies of project management.A survey questionnaire was submitted to 182 information technology（IT）companies and IT departments in Yemeni *** statistical program SPSS was used to analyze data,the data collected was analyzed through descriptive analysis and hypothesis *** descriptive analysis results indicate that cost reduction is the main driver of innovation,incentives and rewards are the main enablers of innovation,lack of effective management is the main barrier of innovation,and creating a competitive advantage is the main impact of ***,the hypotheses testing results indicates thatthere is a statistically significant at（a≥0.05）in the relationship between the five innovation practices:（1）Strategic management,（2）Internal Innovative Working Environment,（3）External Innovative Working Environment,（4）Stakeholders’management,and（5）project *** main point in this study is to evaluate to what extent these innovation pract

Escalation of commitment has been linked to losses in information systems （IS） projects. Understanding the nature and the rationality of escalation allows the firm to promote optimal project management practices. This study takes an inter-disciplinary approach and draws on research from economics and management to create a model of irrational escalation and a model of rational escalation. The forces that contribute to irrational escalation include the responsibility of the same manager for both the project selection and project continuation decisions that create proneness to self-justification, the potential for negative framing of decision options due to large sunk costs, the proximity of project completion and the presence of organizational inertia. Identifying these irrational escalation factors helps design appropriate de-escalation techniques. The rational escalation model draws on the real option theory and the bandit process theory to identify conditions when project continuation is justified by the value of information and the value of flexibility that the firm receives from continuing the project.

This paper reviewed the concepts of project Evaluation Review Technique and Critical Path Method in project management with practical examples. The methods and success of quantitative decision-making approaches in project management through the use of project evaluation review technique and the critical path method as regards project duration and critical activities of a project, were discussed. The review found that while both methods are effective in achieving success in project management, the relationship and connectivity of activities involved in a project life cycle are key aspects. The paper concludes that the project evaluation review technique is more effective when the duration of the project is uncertain, while the critical path method is effective when the project’s end time is certain. The paper, therefore, recommends that to achieve maximum operative efficiency in utilizing resources in project management, prior to commencing the execution of a project, all required resources to cover every activity must be assembled and prioritized to eliminate interruptions that could bring delay and unnecessary cost implications. Again, policies focused on improving project execution should be implemented in developing nations to minimize the many cases of failed and delayed projects. Subsequently, stakeholders in projects must be given the right, under the law, to prosecute the government, its agencies and/or the executors of projects for failure to execute a project on schedule.
