The Effect of Soy Nuts on Glycemic Control, Lipid Profile and Insulin-Resistance in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Type 2 diabetes has a high prevalence and a growing trend. The use of a proper diet treatment is one of the therapeutic approaches of patients. The use of the soy has shown the effective results in glycemic control of patients with type 2 diabetes;however, data are paradoxical. The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of soy nuts on glycemic control, blood pressure and lipid Profile and insulin-resistance of the diabetic patients. Methods: In this case-control study 69 type 2 diabetic patients were randomly divided into two groups: intervention (n = 35) and control (n = 34). The patients in the intervention group substituted 60 grams of soy nuts as a part of the daily protein requirement for eight weeks. In contrast, the patients in the control group received usual diet of diabetes (no soy). The drugs received by patients had not been changed during the intervention period. Before and at the end of the intervention, Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), serum insulin levels, insulin-resistance, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c) and total cholesterol, and triglycerides (TG) were measured in the patients. Insulin-resistance was calculated by Homeostatic model assessment-IR formula (HOMA-IR). Results: Soy consumption significantly lowered FPG (P = 0.03), HbA1c (P P = 0.01), insulin-resistance (P = 0.01), total cholesterol (P P = 0.01), but did not have any significant effect on systolic blood pressure (P = 0.4), diastolic blood pressure (P = 0.2), HDL-c (P = 0.4) and TG (P = 0.2). Conclusion: Consumption of soy nuts in type 2 diabetic patients can cause an improvement in the glycemic control and insulin-resistance, and the lipid Profile does not have any significant effect on blood pressure.

Geo-Social Profile Matching Algorithm for Dynamic Interests in Ad-Hoc Social Network

Among mobile users, ad-hoc social network (ASN) is becoming a popular platform to connect and share their interests anytime anywhere. Many researchers and computer scientists investigated ASN architecture, implementation, user experience, and different Profile matching algorithms to provide better user experience in ad-hoc social network. We emphasize that strength of an ad-hoc social network depends on a good Profile-matching algorithm that provides meaningful friend suggestions in proximity. Keeping browsing history is a good way to determine user’s interest, however, interests change with location. This paper presents a novel Profile-matching algorithm for automatically building a user Profile based on dynamic GPS (Global Positing System) location and browsing history of users. Building user Profile based on GPS location of a user provides benefits to ASN users as this Profile represents user’s dynamic interests that keep changing with location e.g. office, home, or some other location. Proposed Profile-matching algorithm maintains multiple local Profiles based on location of mobile device.

Status of carbohydrate,protein and lipid Profile in the mosquito larvae treated with certain phytoextracts

Objective:To investigate the impact of the most potent petroleum ether extract of Artemisia annua(A.annua) and Azadirachta indica(Az.indica) on total carbohydrate,lipid and protein level of Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus larvae.Methods:Mosquito larvae were exposed to the extracts selected as per standard WHO procedure.Carbohydrate(glucose),total lipid and protein were estimated by the methods as Nelson,Bragdon and Lowry described, respectively.Results:The glucose levels were increased to 27.87%and 46.8%,respectively in anopheline larval tissues after treatment with petroleum ether extract of A.annua and methanolic extract of Az.indica.In culicine larvae,glucose levels were reduced to 58.96%and 24.65%, respectively.After treatment with A.annua extract,lipid contents in anopheline and culicine larvae decreased by 28.57%and 25.0%,respectively and increased by 14.29%and 50.00%in the Anopheles and Culex larvae,respectively after treatment with methanolic extract of Az. indica.Total protein levels were reduced to 63.13%and 92.62%in anopheline and to 32.39%and 48.12%in culicine larvae after treatment with A.annua and Az.Indica extracts,respectively. Conclusions:Two extracts produce significant alterations in the biochemical pr of iles of anopheline and culicine larvae.Further,the impacting factors of extracts on carbohydrate,lipid and protein contents of larvae are species and specific extraction.It indicates the disturbed metabolic activity of the larvae.

The Automated Vehicle Detection of Highway Traffic Images by Differential Morphological Profile

Vehicle detection has been the critical part of the traffic surveillance system for many years. However, vehicle detection method is still challenging. In this paper, differential morphology closing Profile is used to extract the vehicle automatically from the traffic image. Along with closing Profile, some addition operation has been applied as a part of the algorithm to get the high detection and quality rate. Result demonstrated that the novel method has an excellent detection and quality percentage. We also have compared our automated detection method with other traditional image processing based methods and the results indicate that our proposed method provides better results than traditional image processing based methods.

Dual Band MIMO Antenna Composed of Two Low Profile Unbalanced Fed Inverted L Antennas for Wireless Communications

A low Profile dual-band multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system is proposed. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two low Profile unbalanced fed inverted L antennas with parasitic elements to resonate at 2.45 GHz and 5 GHz. The structure is uncomplicated by locating two ultra low Profile inverted L antennas on the finite conducting plane. The proposed MIMO antenna is numerically and experimentally analyzed. When the size of conducting plane is 55 mm by 55 mm and the height of antenna is 9 mm, the directive gain of 4.11 dBi and the S11 bandwidth of 5.71% are achieved for lower frequency of 2.45 GHz. At the upper frequency of 5 GHz, the directive gain of 8.22 dBi and the S11 bandwidth of 6% are obtained. The proposed antenna has good diversity gain, shown by the correlation coefficient becomes less than 0.005 at the frequency of 2.45 GHz and 5 GHz band when the distance between inverted L elements is 41 mm. A good agreement between calculated and measured results is obtained. The results show that the weak mutual coupling of the proposed antenna and this feature enables it to cover the required bandwidths for WLAN operation at the 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz band.

Effect of Disk Edge Profile on Scattering Characteristics of Liquid Droplets Splashed from Spinning Disk

Effects of disk edge Profile on scattering characteristics of liquid droplets splashed from a rotating disk edge are experimentally investigated. In the present research, aluminum disks are utilized and purified water is employed for liquid. Scattering phenomena of the droplets are captured by the high-speed digital camera. Distribution of the droplet diameter is evaluated from these images and distributions of horizontal flying velocity component and angle of the droplets are measured by human visual observation of images. Liquid filaments are stretched outward from the stagnant liquid layer on lateral surface of disk edge by centrifugal force. Two main peaks appear in the distribution of the scattered droplet diameter and they are originated from large terminal droplets and small droplets generated from filamentwise breakup. Most of the scattered droplets fly slightly inside of the tangential direction of the disk edge. The water droplets splashed from the disk scatters with regularity compared with ethanol droplets.

So it is very important to research Profile control agent for stabilizing oil production resin-type Profile control agent, and focus on researching the themal stability, shear resistance, gelation time and gelation strength and other properties of this Profile control agent?[1]. Finally, the best ratio for synthesizing the high temperature resistant phenolic resin-type Profile control agent was obtained.

What we have learned from transcript Profile analyses of male and female gametes in flowering plants

Double fertilization is one of the predominant features of sexual reproduction in flowering plants but, because of the physical inaccessibility of gametes, the essential molecular mechanisms in these processes are largely unknown. Based on the techniques for isolating highly purified gametes from several species and well-developed methods for manipulating RNA from limited quantities of gametes, genome-wide investigations of gamete transcription Profiles were recently conducted in flowering plants. In this review, we survey the accumulated knowledge on gamete collection and purification, cDNA library construction, and transcript Profile analysis to assess our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of gamete specialization and fertilization.
