An analog front end with a 12-bit 3.2-MS/s SAR ADC for a power line communication system

This paper presents an analog front end for a power line communication system, including a 12-bit 3.2-MS/s energy-efficient successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter, a positive feedback programmable gain amplifier, a 9.8 ppm/℃ bandgap reference and on-chip low-output voltage regulators. A two segment capacitive array structure （6 MSB 5 LSB） composed by split capacitors is designed for the SAR core to save area cost and release reference voltage accuracy requirements. Implemented in the GSMC 0.13 #m 1.5 V/12 V dual-gate 4P6M e-flash process, the analog front end occupies an area of 0.457 mm2 and consumes power of 18.8 mW, in which 1.1 mW cost by the SAR ADC. Measured at 500 kHz input, the spurious-free dynamic range and signal-to-noise plus distortion ratio of the ADC are 71.57 dB and 60.60 dB respectively, achieving a figure of merit of 350 U/conversion-step.

Indoor power line is considered as one of the most attractive transmission media for home network,because it pervasive exists in almost every residential.In this paper,a novel home network integrated with power line and wireless communication is presented.However,the power line has the hostile channel for transmission high frequency signal.To design home networks better,the channel characteristics including attenuation and noise performance are analyzed.According to Shannon’s law the theoretical channel capacity is calculated.And the calculation result shows that the power line channel capacity is able to provide the Internet Protocol TV （IPTV） and other home network requirements.

PLC for In-Vehicle Network: A DRL-Based Algorithm of Diversity Combination of OFDM Subcarriers

For low latency communication service of vehicles, it is critical to improve the delay performance of power line communication(PLC) for in-vehicle network,which can decrease the weight and cost of the vehicle. In order to minimize the total time slots used in a transmission task, an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM) subcarrier diversity combination algorithm of PLC based on the deep reinforcement learning(DRL) is proposed herein. The short packet communication theory is used to develop an optimal combination model with constraints on short packet reliability, transmitting power and the amount of data. The state, action, and reward function of double deep Q-learning network(DDQN) are defined, and diversity combination for OFDM subcarriers is performed using DDQN. An adaptive power allocation algorithm based on the thresholds of error rate and the data amount is used. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the delay performance of PLC under the constraints of power and data amount.

This paper gives a summary on recently available technologies for decentralized and distributed control of microgrids.They can be classified into two general categories:1)power line communication based architectures and 2)multi-agent based architectures.The essential control methods and information sharing algorithms applied in these architectures are reviewed and examined in a hierarchical manner,in order to point out benefits they will bring to future microgrid applications.The paper is concluded with a summary on existing methods and a discussion on future development trends.

In recent years,power line communication technology has seen a rapid development.However,due to the unsteadiness of the power line channels,the communication attenuation and bit error rate is still a big problem.Based on the previous research of spread spectrum communication and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing（OFDM）,in this paper,we studies the method to eliminate attenuation using OFDM in low voltage power line communication,and gives the system model based on transmission characteristics.We also studies the way to improve the accuracy of signal transmission and reduce the bit error rate by changing the guard interval and error-correcting schemes.At the same time,the result of test and simulation is given.The alternative scheme provides a significant performance in anti-interference ability and considerable computational complexity reduction compared to the usual scheme.
