Objective:To evaluate the in vitro anti-Trypanosoma cruzi（***） activity of organic extracts prepared from halophyte species collected in the southern coast of Portugal（Algarve）,and chemically characterize the most active ***:Acetone,dichloromethane and methanol extracts were prepared from 31 halophyte species and tested in vitro against trypomastigotes and intracellular amastigotes of the Tulahuen strain of *** most active extract was fractionated by preparative HPLC-DAD,affording 11 *** most selective fraction was fully characterized by ***:From 94 samples tested,one was active,namely the root dichloromethane extract of Juncus acutus(IC50 phenanthrenes,9,10-dihydrophenanthrenes and ***:Our results suggest that the compounds identified in fraction 8 are likely responsible for the observed anti parasitic *** research is in progress aiming to isolate and identify the specific active *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first report on the in vitro anti *** activity of halophyte species.

The effects of biodegradation on the compositions of aromatic hydrocarbons and maturity indicators in biodegraded oils from Liaohe Basin

By the aid of GC-MS technique,a series of sequentially biodegraded oils from Liaohe Basin have been analyzed. The results show that the concentrations and relative compositions of various aromatic compounds in the biodegraded crude oils will change with increasing biodegradation degree. The concentrations of alkyl naphthalenes,alkyl phenanthrenes,alkyl dibenzothiophene are decreased,and the concentration of triaromatic steroids will increase with increasing biodegradation degree in biodegraded oils. Those phenomena indicate that various aromatic compounds are more easily biodegraded by bacteria like other kinds of hydrocarbons such as alkanes,but different series of aromatic compounds have a varied ability to resistant to biodegradation. The ratios of dibenzothiophene to phenenthrene(DBTH/P) and methyl dibenzothiophene to methyl phenanthrene(MDBTH/MP) are related to the features of depositional environment for source rocks such as redox and ancient salinity. However,in biodegraded oils,the two ratios increase quickly with the increase of the biodegradation degree,indicating that they have lost their geochemical significance. In this case,they could not be used to evaluate the features of depositional environment. Methyl phenanthrene index,methyl phenanthrene ratio and methyl dibenzoyhiophene ratio are useful aromatic maturity indicators for the crude oils and the source rocks without vitrinite. But for biodegraded oils,those aromatic maturity indicators will be affected by biodegradation and decrease with the increase of the biodegradation degree. Therefore,those aromatic molecular maturity indicators could not be used for biodegraded oils.

Recently,substitution of the C=C functionality with the isosteric and isoelectronic B-N moiety has emerged as a powerful way to expand the family of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs). In the first part,we describe the synthesis,crystallographic,spectral and electrochemical properties of novel BN-containing PAHs containing dihydropyrene as the central core structure. We found that their photophysical properties were greatly dependent on the ring fused to the *** the second part,two series of BN-phenanthrenes,including the parental compounds,have been synthesized in an efficient manner from commercially available *** parental BN-phenanthrenes are strongly fluorescent in *** absorption and emission spectra are greatly dependent on the BN position and ***,the reactivities of the two series of BN-phenanthrenes towards Br are completely different.
