Spatial relationship of high-speed transportation construction and land-use efficiency and its mechanism:Case study of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration

Lithotectonic elements of Archean basement on the Liaodong peninsula and its vicinity,North China Craton, China

The Liaodong peninsula,in the northeastern part of the Eastern Block in the North China Craton,China, consists of lithologic units from Archean to Cenozoic in *** basement rocks consist of widespread amphibolite-to granulite-facies Archean supracrustal assemblages and granitoid gneisses,as well as Paleoproterozoic volcano-sedimentary successions that were intruded by granitic-marie complexes,and then metamorphosed under greenschist-to amphibolite-facies *** basement rocks are overlainby thick Mesoproterozoic- Cenozoic sedimentary sequences.A synthesis of the available petrological and geochronological data allowed us to establish a geological framework for the Precambrian basement on the Liaodong peninsula and its *** basement can be subdivided into three tectonic units:the Neoarchean Liaonan Block,the Eo-Neoarchean Longgang Block,and the intervening Paleoproterozoic Jiao-Liao-Ji *** this paper we delineate the characteristics of an Archean tectonothermal event,and in a companion paper we examine the Paleoproterozoic lithotectonic *** samples of the Hadean eon are rare worldwide,but Hadean zircons have been identified in rocks of the Liaodong peninsula,and they provide one of the oldest known mineralogical records on *** Archean gneisses in the Liaonan Block are dominated by quartz dioritic-granodioritic gneisses that were emplaced between 2.55 and 2.44 Ga,and these rocks later underwent a lower-amphibolite-facies *** the other hand,the Archean basement in the Longgang Block is dominated by TTG (tonalitic-trondhjemitic-granodioritic) and granitic gneisses,chamocldtes,and small amounts of supracrustal sequences with much older protolith ages of up to 3.85 Ga,and these rocks have undergone amphibolite-to granulite-facies *** magrnatism (ca.2.5 Ga)marked the end of the Archean tectonothermal event in the Eastern Block of the North China Craton.

Late Mesozoic magmatism in the Jiaodong peninsula,East China:Implications for crust-mantle interactions and lithospheric thinning of the eastern North China Craton

A section from the Linglong gold deposit on the northwestern Jiaodong peninsula,East China,containing Late Mesozoic magmatic rocks from mafic and intermediate dikes and felsic intrusions,was chosen to investigate the lithospheric evolution of the eastern North China Craton(NCC).Zircon U-Pb data showed that low-Mg adakitic monzogranites and granodiorite intrusions were emplaced during the Late Jurassic(~145 Ma) and late Early Cretaceous(112-107 Ma),respectively;high-Mg adakitic diorite and mafic dikes were also emplaced during the Early Cretaceous at^139 Ma and ~118 Ma,and 125-145 Ma and 115-120 Ma,*** geochemical data,including whole-rock major and trace element compositions and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopes,imply that the mafic dikes originated from the partial melting of a lithospheric mantle metasomatised through hydrous fluids from a subducted oceanic ***-Mg adakitic monzogranites and granodiorite intrusions originated from the partial melting of the thickened lower crust of the NCC,while high-Mg adakitic diorite dikes originated from the mixing of mafic and felsic *** Mesozoic magmatism showed that lithosphere-derived melts showed a similar source depth and that crust-derived felsic melts originated from the continuously thickened lower crust of the Jiaodong peninsula from the Late Jurassic to Early *** infer that the lower crust of the eastern NCC was thickened through compression and subduction of the Palaeo-Pacific plate beneath the NCC during the Middle *** rollback of the plate from ~160 Ma resulted in lithospheric thinning and accompanied Late Mesozoic magmatism.

Permo-Triassic high-pressure metamorphism in the central western Korean peninsula, and its link to Paleo-Tethyan Ocean closure: Key issues revisited

Permo-Triassic high-pressure(HP) mafic granulites, together with the Bibong retrogressed eclogite,preserved along the central western Korean peninsula provide important insights into the Late Permian to Triassic collisional orogeny in northeast Asia. The metamorphic pressureetemperatureetime(P-T-t)paths of these rocks, however, remain poorly constrained and even overestimated, owing to outdated geothermobarometers and inaccurate isopleth techniques. Here we evaluate the metamorphic Pe T conditions of Triassic HP mafic granulites including those in Baekdong, Sinri and Daepan and the Bibong Triassic retrogressed eclogite in the Hongseong area, and the Permo-Triassic Samgot mafic granulite in the Imjingang Belt of the central western Korean peninsula through the application of modern phase equilibria techniques. The Baekdong and Samgot mafic granulites and the Bibong retrogressed eclogite yield a range of 12.0 -16.0 kbar and 800 -900℃, representing HP granulite facies conditions. The Sinri and Daepan granulites from the Hongseong area show relatively lower grade metamorphic conditions between HP granulite and normal granulite facies, and are characterized by sub-isothermal decompression during exhumation. The similarities in the metamorphic ages and the post-collisional igneous activity from the central western Korean peninsula indicate that the Triassic ages represent the retrograde stage of the metamorphic Pe T paths. In contrast, the Late Permian metamorphic ages, which are older than protolith ages of the post-collisional igneous rocks, correspond to the possible prograde stage of metamorphism. The P-T-t paths presented in this paper, together with the metamorphic ages and post-orogenic igneous events reported from these areas suggest trace of the subduction, accretion and exhumation history, and indicate a tectonic linkage among the northeast Asian continents during the Paleo-Tethyan Ocean closure.

Hydrochemistry of the meltwater streams on Fildes peninsula, King George Island, Antarctica

King George Island, situated in the South Shetland Islands archipelago, is one of the most visited sites in Antarctica. Antarctica attracts much attention because it is one of the most sensitive areas under the influence of global warming. To understand its hydrochemistry characteristics, we collected various types of water samples, including samples from streams, meltwaters, ground waters, snow and ice from around the Great Wall Station, Fildes peninsula, King George Island, from January to February, 2015. Major ions, alkalinities, silicate, pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and electric conductivities were measured. Several approaches were applied to identify processes that af fect the hydrochemistry on Fildes peninsula, including ternary diagrams, principal components analysis and cluster analysis. Our data suggest that atmospheric seasalt deposition is the main factor controlling the hydrochemistry on Fildes peninsula. After atmospheric influences were corrected for seasalt, we defined the weathering of local rocks to be another important factor on the peninsula's hydrochemistry. Processes such as Ca dissolution from the Ca-bearing basalt, Si loss through secondary mineralization and biological uptake influence the chemical composition of runof fs on the peninsula. Cluster analysis identified 4 groups of streams based on their hydrochemical features, which reflect their original weathering characters under icecap and the combined effects with melt snow, biological activity and the anthropogenic input.

Trace Metals Analysis Along the Fildes peninsula Coastline Using Two Red Algae, Rhodymenia antarctica and Iridaea cordata, as Monitors

Two red algae, Rhodymenia antarctica and Iridaea cordata(Rhodophyta), were employed to investigate the pollution situation along Fildes peninsula coastline, King George Island. Ten sites from east and west coastlines were investigated, and the concentrations of Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr, As and Hg were determined. The metal pollution index(MPI) was used to evaluate the overall pollution level represented by the investigated sites and for interregional comparisons. The two algae exhibited different preference to special trace metal. R. antarctica could accumulate more Cd(0.63 mg kg^(-1)) and Hg(0.026 mg kg^(-1)) than I. cordata(Cd 0.34 mgkg^(-1), Hg 0.019 mg kg^(-1)). I. cordata could accumulate more As(15.53 mg kg^(-1)) than R. antarctica(10.11 mg kg^(-1)). There was no significant difference in accumulating Cu, Pb, Zn and Cr between the two algae. R. antarctica could be used to monitor Cd and Hg. I. cordata would be more appropriate for monitoring As. MPI monitored by the two algae were from 1.02 to 2.26(R. antarctica), and 1.03 to 1.25(I. cordata), respectively. Pollution situation of Fildes peninsula was becoming serious, especially of the east coastline. The objective of this research was to gather the baseline information for trace metals investigation in Antarctic.

Leakage of mantle helium from the Liaodong peninsula, China

The isotopic compositions of helium have been investigated in hot spring gases sampled from the Liaodong peninsula, China. The 3He/ 4He ratios range from 0.14 Ra (0.14 times the atmospheric 3He/ 4He ratio of 1.40×10 -6) to 0.72 Ra. 3He/ 4He versus 4He/ 20Ne ratios and He contents suggest that a small amount of mantle-derived helium reaches the earth’s surface. Helium isotope ratios of the hot spring gases show a distribution pattern similar to the regional heat flow values, indicating that the positive thermal anomaly occurring in the area is closely associated with the presence of mantle-derived helium. The observations described above provide some significant evidence that the molten magma originating from partial melting of the upper mantle may have intruded into the continental crust along the activity fault. The coupling of the presence of mantle He and heat flow anomalies to seismic activity in studied region seem to imply that there is an internal relationship between mantle degassing and seismic

Monitoring the concentration of N_2O in the Fildes peninsula, maritime Antarctica

Gases in the marine boundary layer in Fildes peninsula, maritime Antarctica were sampled and analyzed for the first time. Sampling sites included areas covered by moss and lichen growth, penguin colonies and an area where scientific research stations are located. A total of 211 samples were analyzed for N2O concentrations, with an average of (321.33±3.07) nL/L. This is above the global average value of 314 nL/L. It is found that the N2O concentrations evidently increase during the summer months. Concentrations around the research stations are higher than at remote areas, indicating a potential source from human activities on the island. N2O concentrations at a large penguin colony on Barton peninsula are the highest among the sampled areas. This may explain why N2O concentrations in Fildes peninsula are higher than the global average. Our preliminary conclusions are that human activities and emissions from penguin dropping-amended soil and vegetation soil constitute the major sources of N2O in the
