This article aims to study methodologically hospital buildings and, in particular, the design of day clinics in the recovery area. The definition of design guidelines to improve and qualify the day clinic, enhancing their performance, takes into account the fact that the established requirements of medical protocols must be accompanied by those new requirements related to the massive evolution in health organizations. Changes in medicine, culture and society have necessarily led to a new formulation of the hospital model and the introduction of the theme of the humanization of the curing process has conditioned the morphological-space configuration and the presence of new relationships and spatial functions in the hospitals. The research of this article attempts, therefore, to explore the use of technology to improve the quality of day clinics’ design, formulating strategies that contribute on one side to facilitating the efficiency of service, and on the other side to making the user feel at ease in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

This editorial highlights a recently published study examining the effectiveness of music therapy combined with motivational interviewing(MI)in addressing an-xiety and depression among young and middle-aged patients following percuta-neous coronary *** further explores existing evidence and potential future research directions for MI in postoperative rehabilitation and chronic disease *** aims to facilitate behavioral change and promote healthier lifestyles by fostering a trusting relationship with patients and enhan-cing intrinsic *** has demonstrated its effectiveness in posto-perative recovery for oncological surgery,stroke,organ transplants,and gastroin-testinal procedures,as well as in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes,obesity,and periodontal *** approach is patient-centered,adaptable,cost-effective,and easily replicable,though its limitations include reliance on the therapist’s expertise,variability in individual responses,and insufficient long-term follow-up *** research could focus on developing individualized and precise intervention models,exploring applications in digital health management,and confirming long-term outcomes to provide more compre-hensive support for patient rehabilitation.

Objective: Reflection is considered to be one of the important ways to learn from one's experience, and one should be encouraged to apply the skill of reflection in lifelong learning. The author used the critical emancipatory reflection theory to reflect on a practice issue,which was related to the relationship between doctors and nurses, and tries to become a lifelong reflective practitioner in clinical ***: Smyth's reflective framework, which includes the steps describe, inform, confront, and reconstruct, will be used in this article to help the author to understand the process of reflection and improve the skill of reflection. Utilizing Smyth's reflective framework to reflect on an issue in practice allows the author to break the routine way of thinking and learn from experience, as well as providing a higher quality of service for ***: The theory of emancipatory reflection along with the critical reflection theory will be used to determine the beliefs and values that rule the author's action and derive how these are distinct from what the author is supposed to achieve. Besides, critical emancipatory reflection theory will be used to discover the dominant power structures in clinical practice; symbolic interaction and hegemony will be utilized to discover the factors that prevent the author from achieving the desired goals; socialization theory will be applied to facilitate the author in improving the professional ***: Using the critical emancipatory reflection on the issue in practice helps the author to find out the constraints in practice,bridge the espoused value and enacted value, and thereafter undertake transformative changes in practice. Eventually, the author can improve the skill of critical emancipatory reflection and become a lifelong reflective practitioner, and the quality of clinical practice can be improved as a result.

For many years, there has been a growing demand for patient-centered care in inpatient settings, but a lack of clear consensus on how to exactly implement such programs. The main aim of this study was to analyze patient-centered care in the acute-care setting in a multidimensional manner from the perspectives of elderly patients, their relatives, and an independent observer. A multi-method design was used to capture the three perspectives. Passive observations and post-situational interviews with patients were integrated with semi-structured interviews with patients and their relatives. 18 elderly patients and their relatives (n = 8) were recruited on wards for internal medicine of six hospitals. The data show significant deficits in patient-centered care in the acute-care setting. Although individual patients have different needs, certain categories of deficits emerge as universally relevant, one being the patient-provider-relationship. patients express a desire for more frequent contact with the hospital staff. Access to doctors and nurses is particularly limited at night and on weekends. The patients are aware of these limitations and often do not draw attention to their own needs to reduce the workload on the staff. The wishes and needs of patients are not always adequately addressed. However, patients, relatives and the independent observer take positive notice of some employees because of their patient-centered attitude. The results show that there is still a need for improvement of patient-centered care. Participants from all three perspectives described differences between employees within the same institutional setting. This finding suggests that patient-centered care strongly depends on the personality of the individual caregiver.

One of the significant individualities of web-enhanced education is the lack of face-to-face interaction between the student and the educator. A consideration in web-enhanced education which has the probability for ethical concern related to the physical disconnection of instructor and learner is the increased potential for academic dishonesty. This can present a dilemma for nurse educators involved in teaching a difficult curriculum, while it can be motivated to improve the quality and student outcomes related to safe patient-centered care. The most blatant consideration in this setting is plagiarism. This article reviews the various facets of this ethical issue and suggests proactive solutions for faculty and administration to deter academic dishonesty.
