Background:Pediatric pancreatoblastoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor,posing diagnostic and treatment difficulties for pediatric *** the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database,we present an up-to-date report of the epidemiology,clinicopathological features,survival rates,and prognosis of pancreatoblastoma in pediatric ***:All pediatric patients diagnosed with pancreatoblastoma between 1975 and 2018 were identified in the SEER regis-tries(SEER 8 registries and SEER 17 registries).We conducted a survival analysis to assess overall survival and 1-and 5-year late mortality *** statistics and log-rank test were ***:A total of 22 children and adolescents with pancreatoblastoma were *** this cohort,12 of 22 were male(54.55%),14 were White(63.64%),and 11 were diagnosed between the ages of 1 and 4 years(50.0%).Among the 22 patients,11(50.0%)had distant metastases,whereas 7(31.82%)had localized,and 4(18.18%)had a regional disease.A total of 5 children and adolescents died during the study period,with cumulative survival rates of 14 of 17(82.35%)and 10 of 11(90.95%)among 1-and 5-year survivors,***-directed surgery was significantly associated with an increased life expectancy(log-rank test,P=.018).Conclusion:Pediatric pancreatoblastoma is a rare *** that underwent surgery had a greater likelihood of overall survival and reduced late mortality.

BACKGROUND Pediatric pancreatic tumors are rare and account forpancreatoblastoma[n=16(7.5%)],pancreatic endocrine tumor[n=14(6.6%)],non-epithelial tumor[n=9(4.2%)],pancreatic tumor[n=7(3.3%)],and metastatic pancreatic tumor[n=3(1.4%)].Overall,123(57.7%)patients underwent distal pancreatectomy,of whom 49 underwent laparoscopic ***-four(20.7%)patients underwent enucleation,of whom eight underwent laparoscopic ***-two(15.0%)patients underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy,of whom one underwent laparoscopic *** patients with SPN,including those with distant metastases and recurrent disease,*** SPN was more common in Japan than in other *** of the histological type,resection is the most effective treatment for pediatric pancreatic tumors.

Exocrine pancreatic neoplasms represent up to 95%of pancreatic cancers(PCs)and are widely recognized among the most lethal solid cancers,with a very poor 5-year survival rate of 5%-10%.The remaining<5%of PCs are neuroendocrine tumors that are usually characterized by a better prognosis,with a median overall survival of 3.6 *** most common type of PC is pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),which accounts for roughly 85%of all exocrine *** up to 10%of exocrine PCs have rare histotypes,which are still poorly *** subtypes can be distinguished from PDAC in terms of pathology,imaging,clinical presentation and ***,due to their rarity,any knowledge regarding these specific histotypes is mostly based on case reports and a small series of retrospective ***,treatment strategies are generally deduced from those used for PDAC,even if these patients are often excluded or not clearly represented in clinical trials for *** these reasons,it is essential to collect as much information as possible on the management of PC,as assimilating it with PDAC may lead to the potential mistreatment of these ***,we report the most significant literature regarding the epidemiology,typical presentation,possible treatment strategies,and prognosis of the most relevant histotypes among rare PCs.
